Great dialog from a Little Round Top soldier...... They were certainly aware of what was at stake at Gettysburg. Husted's description of the battlefield scene a few days after the battle was poignant.
Well done, as always. It's truly moving, to hear the words of persons actually on the ground and in combat. It's particularly interesting to hear the comments regarding General Meade's likely perspective when contemplating the pursuit of General Lee and his forces.
I’ve always wondered how things might have been different if Lee had listened to Hood and let him take his men around Round Top on the 2nd and flank them from behind. Even Longstreet supported this but Lee refused. A big what IF.
I love the vocabulary of these letter writers. It points out the lack of vocabulary of today and emphasizes the slang we use today
i love these little stories. thanks
Keep em coming Ron! Absolutely love these
I look forward to the stories and supporting images

I think he would’ve run out of time.
You are intrepid- keep the narratives coming.
But ahh, those Texans…capturing 90 from the 4th and 5th takes a lot work…
