So true, I have 3 and I hardly ever run one in my life. Just studying and get ready for the big reveal. I love this video. I wonder what octane gas was used
Very impressive. The no handed feature is the best. That rope hanging off the handlebar reminded me of my grandads(and then my dads) David Bradley. That machine had every clever attachment under the sun, but somehow they couldn't come up with a better starting system.
My father had a 1947 with that blower attachment. What a work horse!!!!! Still running. The collector I sold it to still using it to mow lawns lol had low gearation wheels slower than a snail lol used to take a year and a day to blow the driveway out but love running that machine. Was fun.....
Brings back a lot of memories I had that same setup but . I had dual wheels I like that oversize that you have there I'm running a 10A now Do you have the rolling ball hitch for the trailer
Now that is a cool old machine and a very good job on the video without a second pair of hands. How old is that. Just bought a new machine but I think I’d rather that one. 👍
I agree with the other comments, with such a large property, you have plenty of space to build an addition shed, to house this vintage item, to preserve it all year round. Use synthetic engine oil, on the evening before, put an electric light bulb underneath the sump, practice using an electric drill to start it, then teach your spouse to use it. Thanks for sharing.
@@DKTractors You earned it. One secret I've learned is heat that air cleaner cover with a sure fire Torch. Not crazy time but it will heat the fuel and make a huge difference starting with the hot air going into the Combustion chamber. I left you another comment about fluid film over where the cat to the point is makes another big difference. Repels moisture like crazy
Ah, back from the day you were your own safety. I had a mower given to me by and older guy that had all of the attachments from chainsaw to stump grinder and a bunch of tractors I still have a friend with a cutaway unit on display
Great Video. I got my Comm12 w/MA210 out in 30" of snow and had no problem. Had one 5 foot plus drift about 10 feet long chewed it up. Then I found a pipe that shouldn't have been there and there was a loud snap. Took the MA off and put the 48" blade on. Worse than that is with all the wind and flying snow I didn't get any video.
Any way to put a recoil starter on it or better yet an electric or battery starter, or you could drill start it, use a cordless drill, a good one, and a socket adapter, put it on the nut and crank it like that instead of the rope.
Man, that thing is a beast. Really moves a ton of snow. First time I've seen a Gravely at work. Since you already have an electric cord out there why don't you use a 1/2" electric drill to crank that beast over to start it? Just put the drill on the flywheel nut and give it a crank. Lot less work , should start a lot quicker. Thanks for the Vid.
Dontcha just hate it when the wind changes direction and turns you into a snowman. Nice old L. The dog eater does the job great in dry to damp snow but in the wet stuff mine just pushes out square blocks that you could build an igloo with. Slower turning impeller than the MA210 snow cannon but still effective. By the way, don't you have room in that shed for the machine? Damn.
Do you mean the rubber wipers on the impeller ends? That's a great improvement for any 2-stage blower. I'm going to put them on mine after this season.
On the second stage fan start with opposite sides first not all four to see how that works It should lightly rub the inner wall so it scrapes the wall clean
Yet you still use a shovel😂. The shovel will never go away. I agree with below build that bad boy a shelter. Then clean it up and paint it! When done with all that teach your wife how to use it🤪
Gravelys are the BEST !!! A NO BS MACHINE !!!
a peice of history kicken ass taken names awesome
Not for weak.
the new dogs of today's world will never last as long as these old dogs ! nice vid
Thanks yeah these are great machines
I love seeing old Gravelys do what they do best!
Super impressive! Just got my first Gravely, have to get it running, no snowblower with it though, I'll have to scare one up!
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching! Welcome to the Gravely club you can’t just have one! lol

Never ran a David Bradley thanks for watching!

+Roy Paris they are great machines so simple but work horses thanks for watching!
DKTractors NStuff I miss running that thing....enjoyed it. Especially when I was a lot younger.......lol
Thank-you so much for sharing that wonder. Greetings from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
Brings back a lot of memories

Do you have the rolling ball hitch for the trailer
Yeah I run a 5665 with a MA210 now or a pro16 with the Ariens style.
Yes have a trailer and ball hitch.
Thanks for watching!
I like that, using a snow shovel to dig out the snow blower. Say what you want but, that ol' girl can flail it!!!
Now that is a cool old machine and a very good job on the video without a second pair of hands. How old is that. Just bought a new machine but I think I’d rather that one. 👍
1959 Li with Gear reduction wheels. Thanks for watching love these machines.
I love the hands free feature of this model 🤣
Chris Sanders way before Telsa lol!
Works like a champ
You are a better man than I am because I could not go through that to start a machine to clear my snow.
Yeah I don’t pull start them in winter anymore. All electric now.
Great Machine , Nice video
It ain't snow blowing unless there's a 40 foo rooster tail!! Now THAT'S a snow blower!! Great job. Hopefully my 58 LI runs as well as yours. Cheers.

Frere Campbell thanks for watching
Yes since this video I’ve organized my shed better and have an additional storage shed with additional tractors
build that bad dog a home.
awesome vid
Thanks!
Quite possibly the most hardcore gravely video ever made.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤
Wow best comment ever thank you!

Just asking, what state are you? And I've never seen a cut away before. I'm. I'm in connecticut
Pretty good ol girl . I give it a thumbs up cause what else with that little of HP can put snow out like that ol girl.

Your rpm seems quite low. Is this the proper speed the tractor should run at? I've never seen one throw snow before. Terrific video btw ;)
Yeah the rpm could go a little higher I need to adjust the idle speed
Awesome video :)

Yeah I'm trying to get my starter fixed
I don't use them enough to keep batteries charged
put a little cheap solar charger on it.
Cute but don't they come with a seat and headlight ? First time I saw one like this one and it works quite well...
Yeah you can attach a sulky but doesn't work well with deep snow
Thanks for watching
New snowblower wouldn't throw snow like that imagine 70 year old machine still kicking ass!!!!
Yeah they have massive torque for only being 6.5 hp. Thanks for watching!

Yeah they are great machines. I’ve been using them for 36 years Thanks for watching !
Switch to synthetic motor oil 5 w 50 it is fully comparable and perfect for that machine because the oil does not thicken until - 50 degrees
It's a shame it is not stored inside, out of the weather. It would be less grief for you. God bless!
I could never start a sno thro like that. No... Way...
Wish I had a heated barn
Powerful enough to blow snow in any neighbor's yard you want!
Yeah wind helps too!
That old snowblower does a better job then most of the brand new ones. The new ones with that wheel drive would have been slipping on the first row.
Thanks for watching!
You should try synthetic oil, it works wonders on my Farmall M and my David Bradly's.

Yeah I need to put the rubber flaps on the dog eater
I've expanded the shed since then should be good this year
Thanks for watching
Do you mean the rubber wipers on the impeller ends? That's a great improvement for any 2-stage blower. I'm going to put them on mine after this season.
Yes I have a piece of a rubber mud flap that I want to use
+Dennis K I have one lying in the woods I was going to recondition. Where does the rubber go?
On the second stage fan start with opposite sides first not all four to see how that works
It should lightly rub the inner wall so it scrapes the wall clean
I think I would build build something on that shoot just to blow the snow down a little more.
This is the oldest snowblower attachment I have ones that have more adjustments
got gravely? :)
Built to last
I have a sticker on my truck that I bought on eBay that is "got gravely" love it
nice to see the old goat working .. try some ether ?
Thanks yeah are use it all the time these days in the cold weather thanks for watching

buillt with real steel instead of todays sheet metal
You Tube must like your channel to bring up this 6 year old video...
u needed a snow blower to to the snow blower
No safety problems here!
+Garth Goldberg yes it will chew you up if you're not careful
take that thing to the scrap yard lol. that things only good for shooting rocks at your face and losing an eye. dont even have any power
