Yeah exactly this, LG's 4K 65' OLED 120 Hz'which probably has much better picture quality is that price listed above. How the hell is just adding better response times, Gsync and NVIDIA shield going to add 3 more thousand dollars? Makes no sense on paper.
Batemen Got 2 1080's in SLI that dont even work/scale properly so can only use 1. Absoulte joke, and considering sli doesnt work with G-sync properly on my monitor either and you can understand why I will never buy Nvidia again.
Funny how that "scaling" you speak of comes from the developers of games and not the graphics card manufacturer. Understand what you speak of before you "says sumpin dumbs...." Look at what Quad SLI can do in games like Max Payne 3, BF2-4, GTA's......and many more if you honestly care to "know...."
EDIT: 4:40 LOL, he actually broke the keyboard. Linus at in his natural habitat, breaking things at usual. Except, this time it didn't just "drop" he helped it drop.
This is awesome! Finally great living room gaming I can share with my console playing friends! Not many people want to come over and plop down in front of a desk to play video games. Most people think of sitting on the couch in front of a tv, using a controller. This is the best of both worlds and the 4K 120hz is the icing on top. Plus a side of Android TV functionality too of course.
Jusu Saatana Linus Tech Tipsiä tuijottamassa. But yeah true, is there a PC that can play the most demanding games at 4k 120fps? Maybe a PC with Sli Titan V? :-D
a pc with a i7 cpu, gtx 1080 ti strix, 36 gigs of ram and lets not forget a 240 hz monitor ( just put vsync on half and if your framerate is dropping it will be capped at 120 fps but if you have a 60hz monitor you'r fps will be capped at the half of your monitor's HZ same thing for every other monitor)
Using OLED as you would a LED monitor won't work in the long run though. Well it will WORK, but it will probably end up with you burning in your screen from leaving static images on the screen for too long. However if you know what you're doing they're great for gaming!
Hahaha.... Great. I think I linked you a few days ago in the Asus announcement that you should try it out as replacement for the huge TV you had in the background when you showed the big 4k china-display a few weeks ago - and to see your in depth analysis :D. Hope that happens now even more, seeing that you're at least as excited as I am about it (and wish I could have seen it life as you did too :D - Enjoy CES!!! :) )
FloorManiac not just your personal experience. Statistically they do have the lowest RMA rate. Which probably comes from them being the only ones with a 100% fully robotic/automated production line.
I'm thinking around $2000? I mean when you get down to it it's just a high end 4K HDR TV with a 120 HZ panel which would run you about $1500ish then add in G-Sync and the shield for a total of about $2000? Its not curved, its not ultrawide, it's not OLED, its just big. Probably in the $1800 - $3000 range? The real value would probably be in a 55 in. variant
EavesDrop I see where you’re coming from, but because it has both built nvidia shield and gsync, that will easily take it over the $3000 mark. GSync makes any monitor that has it pretty much $300 to $500 more just because it’s gsync. Nvidia will definitely be charging a premium for something of this size no doubt about it.
The G-sync premium is more like $150 -$250 right now but with something of that size you're right it could be more. I just don't see this thing being over $3000 nor do I see many people buying it at over $3000 when the alternative is an OLED or QLED TV from LG/ Samsung respectively which have the best picture quality in the game right now. Plus there will be 3 manufacturers all competing against each other which will drive down the price A LOT. If it was just 1 manufacturer, sure they could charge $10,000 if they wanted because there is no competition but if ACER wants to sell more than ASUS and HP its going to drive its price down to the absolute minimum because the sales of such an expensive device are going to be already very low as it is. Could they sell it for $5000? Sure. But it would sell much better if it was $3000 or below near the other top dog TV manufacturers.
Yeah, this should have at least 600+, though it might be limited by the low input lag. Lower input lag gives the image processor less time to calculate the local dimming. It's not just as simple as turning up/down the LEDs in an area, it has to also modify the image in that section too.
Kamote Tops that would require completely redesigning every single aspect of them. That’s like saying “oh it’s a square hole? Just make it circle!” It is disappointing, but the only time you could even notice it is when you are playing dark games (literally dark not scary kinda dark) and there are fast light changes. My hope is that as they move toward the final product, the update time shrinks and it becomes even less noticeable.
Still running my 43" 4K 100Hz samsung TV for gaming , more than a year now. Still very happy with the quality. it does suck that it doesn't have a Displayport input , but other than that, my gaming experience is still awesome.
I've done tech shows at the same convention center. Union workers are shady as hell. I've seen plenty of stuff go missing when it was left to the unions to take care of things.
The Story of Life my monitor is 2560x1080 at 21:9 ultra wide. Of course it is down scaled but the color quality and imagery is not I would say. Just the resolution goes down like decreasing anti aliasing
The Story of Life. No no no! 2K = 2048×1080. And 4K is twice that so 4K = 4096×2160. Do not mix cinema resolution standards with monitor resolutions. If you talk about monitors, please refer to them as "p"s, like 1080p. And if the aspect ratio isn't the default 16:9, then state that as well. 🙄 Or alternatively say FullHD or UHD.
It's actually pretty simple. Each one is based on a different "ground floor" multiplied by 4. 4k is based on Full HD (1080p)*4, and QHD is based on HD (720)*4. They couldn't both use 4 in the marketing lingo so the first one gets Q for quad, and the other just gets 4. In both cases they are 4 times the size of what they were based on when they were designed. To my knowledge, 2k isn't so much an actual thing, as something people started using to distinguish qhd as higher then 1080, and lower then 4k. QHD though will likely be the last reference to the original 720 standard. 4k and on they only reference 1080. In case you want to see what the actual resolution numbers look like; To calculate the full resolution range use the common ratio to calculate the full resolution range, and then multiple together. HD = 720/9*16=1280 Full Surface Area 921,600 QHD/2k = 1440/9*16=2560 Full Surface Area= 3,686,400 (4 times the size of HD) Full HD = 1080/9*16=1920 Full Surface Area 2,073,600 UHD/4k = 2160/9*16=3840 Full Surface Area= 8,294,400 (4 times the size of Full HD) 8k = 4320/9*16=7680 Full Surface Area 33,177,600 (4 time the size of 4k).
- ViewSonic XG2703-GS 27-inch WQHD IPS Gaming Monitor with G-Sync 165Hz 1440p - ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27 inch WQHD Gaming Monitor IPS 1440p 165Hz Both amazing monitors. Both $700 (cheaper during sale times), but if your PC cost less than that then there's no point in buying a good IPS G-Sync 1440p (or 4K) monitor anyway.
I'm in Australia and my PC is about $2000 to buy all the parts seperate, (1070, i7 7700k, 2x8gb DDR4 2400MHz, z270m, 650w PSU, $50 case, the usual stuff) and my monitor cost me $750, it's a 2560x1440 144hz (165hz oc) G-Sync but it's a TN at 24 inches (i don't care, i've seen IPS displays and they look the same to me, plus if you are sitting in the middle like you're supposed to then it won't be a problem, even then when i'm sitting on a 45 degree angle it looks fine, 24 inches is fine for me)
My bad!!.. My PC costs roughly around Rs.138000 (USD $2150) and the monitor I wanted to get the Asus PG27AQ costs around Rs.86000 (USD $1300). I personally find it expensive to spend that much on a monitor.
75" panel without the gamer styling and lots of I/O and I'm sold. I haven't watched terrestrial, cable or satellite for years. I *do* however want lots of HDMI. It seems that TOSLink is going away and I hate the idea of wasting a socket on ARC. Multiple DP on a panel that size would be useful. Also, GbE and 802.11AC please. Multiple USB 3.x options are a must. A decent voice activated controller would be a strong plus. Prolly £2.5K max and I'm in...
This is basically a top end 4k TV. Even with the trade off of less dimming zones, with its feature set, I predict it'll be far more expensive than nearly any TV of the same size.
OLED doesn't have permanent burn-in. It's something that only is noticeable when the screen is solid grey, rarely happens, and when it does it goes away on it's own within minutes. In extremely rare cases when it persists longer, the TVs have a tool to run that will get rid of it. (It's meant to be run once every 2000 hours or use or something like that.)
i am actually not so pumped for OLED as it will have the burn-in issue after a few days of playing games or just running windows as the taskbar does not move on most computers and either that and/or your background or the UI to your game(s) will get a burn-in effect onto the screen so LED is still better due to that one major down side to OLED
What? LG's OLED panels run at 4k 120Hz and could in theory have no or minimal input lag(Oleds switch pretty much instantly), The problem with TVs is the standard post processing crap manufacturers throw in. OLED would have worked great for this, but Nvidia probably doesnt want to completely rely on LG for them.
I can't look at Linus's shirt without thinking of the game "Out of This World" on the SNES. Yes, I know it was called "Another World" on PC. I never played it on the PC. The SNES version was/is awesome. Unique graphics/art style and a soundtrack that still kicks ass!
hopefully they have more than one size option (with hopefully a significant difference in price too). even though there might already be large pc monitors on the market, how many of them boast these kinds of high end pc gamer features (g-sync, ultra low latency, 120hz, etc). i'd like to them ranging from 40-75" (as a 65" is not REALLY an ideal size even for the most "PCMR" of us). looking to finally purchase a tv...looks like i'll just be waiting and saving!
That is awesome! I have been wanting a big TV with adaptive sync tech and high refresh rate for so long! It's about damn time. Now it's a wait for the price to drop on this.
wouldnt pay anymore than 2k for it... esp since I imagine that there will be a ton 4K TVs in 2018 that will be able to support 120hz at 4k once hdmi 2.1 gets implemented into them and becomes the new standard.
A lot of high end monitors and ultrawides already cost more than most people's PC's. Besides when it comes to these, cost shouldn't be an issue. It's a long term investment. A monitor is not something you upgrade for a long time. And you buy GPU's later to utilize the full potential of your monitor. I just got a AW3418DW and while yeah my 1070 can max it out, my next GPU upgrade will and I will be happy with that for a while.
Why would anyone dump $2k in graphics cards and short themselves on a display to that makes those cards shine??? You don't use a Hayabusa motor to power a Vespa
why not splurge and pay $5k for a TITAN V then? it will be better than a 1080ti and probably the next gen GeForce for some time also a very good compute card for when you get the cyptomining viruses onto your machine from the google play store
OLED unfortunately still has problems with burn in, and I suspect this is why OLED monitos aren't already a thing. But yes, a 120+ Hz OLED with G-sync/FreeSync would be so awesome!
Just want to say "FINALLY". My main beef with HDTVs has for a looooong time been that despite us having big FullHD and 4K TVs capable of low input lag just barely behind top level gaming monitors, even if they're comparatively rare and you really need to look for them carefully, and despite 120 Hz panels being a thing for YEARS, ever since 3D TVs came around, we haven't had the option of buying a TV that can receive 120 Hz input signal from a computer (120 Hz panels on 3D TVs receive data at 60 Hz, but get two images at a time, then show them at 120 Hz). We could have had high refresh rate gaming capable TVs for years and years now, if only the manufacturers had put in a wee bit more functionality into the controllers, and unless they decided to charge an arm and a leg for that small added functionality you could have bought one for under a thousand US pesos.
Few things: I doubt it's true HDR, I don't know any TV in that range with anything but the ability to recieve an HDR signal, and then display it on a crap panel. I doubt the image quality is all that great in general at that price and resolution. I'm willing to be its smart features are non existent or crappy, etc. Sorry but $400 for a 4K TV isn't going to get you much. My non HDR 2014 sony bravia looked better than every $4-600 4K TV I compared it to. Granted it was a $6000 TV but my point is that HDR on the label means very little. It has to be done right and it has to be completely implemented.
So first it's not actually a TV, just a massive monitor with a Shield TV built-in (yes they are different). Second this will be fantastic with whatever succeeds the 1080ti, Titan V has performance to push this, I'd just like to see a smaller model because 60"+ is too big. Would love this on a 40-42" version
Great Video Linus . Exciting to see Larger Screens that can be utilized for gaming. Still love my Acer Z35 Gsync for now ( evil grin ). But hey my Son would love it.
This sounds awesome. I prefer gaming on my 1080p tv a lot of times even though I have a 4k 32inch monitor, just because It's a nicer experience to just play from your couch. This seems like the ultimate multimedia tv for both gaming and video content! I guess it'll be in the 2500/3000 range.
I don't think there's a point where I'd pay $5k for a tv. It's not magnitudes more than I'd pay or anything, but it'd be like buying a $10 candy bar, it just feels wrong.
Move along folks, nothing anybody would be able to afford here. No wonder Nvidia made no comment on pricing, it'll cost more than a Titan V. But hold on... Linus said it's going to be more than that? Oh yeah, I forgot about the G-sync markup. But you know what the sadder thing is? We won't have the GPU power to make the most of screens like this for years to come, especially as SLI isn't as great as it used to be. TL:DR Wait a few years for more affordable options all round.
mahius19 I completely disagree with you on the GPU power part but I agree with everything else. We’ll have the power within the next year & we do right now for extremely high end cards. The high refresh rate @ 4K is generally targeted for games that aren’t the most gorgeous things you’ve ever seen. Games that are popular for esports and competitive aspects. If you’re looking for 120hz/144hz on games like the Witcher 3 @ 4K then good luck even achieving those refresh rates at 1080p.
+GudJuJu Oh I agree that you can reach 4k120fps in eSports games. But in the average PC benchmarking title, you'll be hard-pressed to reach that high fps. But I do disagree that, Witcher 3 can't reach 144fps at 1080p. In this video, 1080ti gets 100+fps in Witcher 3 1440p - th-cam.com/video/cmjnT0wmCBo/w-d-xo.html. Not 1080p exactly, but you get the idea. Also I want to know why you feel that we'll get the power soon, what GPUs are releasing? Please tell me I'm wrong for expecting no decent GPU releases in 2018.
mahius19 it’s speculation mostly, I believe Nvidia will have something new like maybe the 11** series or something of that nature. If the past tells us anything it’ll be this year(2018)
It sucks that they don't fully support the VESA DisplayPort standard, which has VESA Adaptive Sync, which AMD refers to as "Freesync". The sad part is that they're only doing this because they're greedy bastards; their cards actually support VESA Adaptive Sync and have drivers that work with it. That's how "G-Sync" on laptops work. It's actually VESA Adaptive Sync, not real G-Sync
It doesn't though, it performs the same as G-Sync. I can't find anything online saying that Freesync has worse input lag than G-Sync, except a video by LinusTechTips from 3 years ago where the Freesync was better in some situations while G-Sync was better in others. This more recent test shows that there is almost no difference between G-Sync and Freesync and that neither change the responsiveness of the game: th-cam.com/video/mVNRNOcLUuA/w-d-xo.htmlm58s
Now let's wait 5 years for an affordable version
Honestly...
Actually 10 years
can't wait for 4k-8k oled or micro led when that display tech comes out
Tv will go out of production before going under 3000 dollars. It's nvidia.
*in 20 years*
oh man i need this 256k display, my 128k one sucks ass
I wanted my tunnel bear ad
yeah fuck sinergy ad
Shut up and take my... wait, estimated 5k price tag? Never mind.
Wabefuhon won’t be 5k lol
Yeah even I have my doubts about what Linus said, probably around 3 grand to be honest and it's really only worth 2.
Jonathan Hardee because dumb shit not even a fuckin 65in oled is that much
Jonathan Hardee $1500-2500
Yeah exactly this, LG's 4K 65' OLED 120 Hz'which probably has much better picture quality is that price listed above. How the hell is just adding better response times, Gsync and NVIDIA shield going to add 3 more thousand dollars? Makes no sense on paper.
This thing is going to be super expensive
if it's $1,000 or somewhere around $1,000, it'll really hit hard against Samsung/LG and make them innovate to have TRUE 120hz or AMD Freesync.
Diamond Eevee Omg dude! Not even close, think 6k or so.
Diamond Eevee $ 1000? You're delusional. It will be more expensive. Maybe atleast $ 2000.
Diamond Eevee There's no way it will be $1000. At least $4500.
Altandush Hoffmann YOU'RE delusional. A regular 65" 4K television costs no less than $4000. Now make that 120Hz and add G-Sync. At least $500 extra.
He didn't drop it?
I knew something was missing in this video!
4:37 He kinda dropped the peripherals, but not really.
Ankit Sachdeva he didnt pick it up
Unsubscribe
+Tarun Kumaar Is that even physically possible?
Nice linus, you get the poor guy gaming in the background killed just to make a point.
Smooth move
Minecraft Mad the guy in the background I think is a LMG employee
Finally more 4K 120Hz!
Batemen Got 2 1080's in SLI that dont even work/scale properly so can only use 1. Absoulte joke, and considering sli doesnt work with G-sync properly on my monitor either and you can understand why I will never buy Nvidia again.
Hi I'm shooting tech videos too
In other words, you’re poor

Ashley Williams AMD is still lacking in performance but freesync is cheaper

Linus at in his natural habitat, breaking things at usual.

You had to ruin it :/
I saw the keyboard blinking but that guy from his team was like"?????????" and it looked like it actually broke xd

Jusu I think that it can run Esport games like CS:GO, rocket league, lol, dota, wow and Overwatch in 4k 120HZ...Maybe, not completly sure
27-65 inch , 4K , OLED , 144Hz , G-SYNC , HDR , 1ms ....it's possible
Using OLED as you would a LED monitor won't work in the long run though. Well it will WORK, but it will probably end up with you burning in your screen from leaving static images on the screen for too long. However if you know what you're doing they're great for gaming!
Alienware is making one but have to wait for a while because they are doing tests with the OLED burn in.
I would buy it right away if it were $20
Fletcher St-Germain $20? Are you high?
More like 2000
Just wait for 20 years
i would buy it right away if it were $19
Dan Waters sorry not everyone can spend more than 18 dollars on something thats not 1080p
I have already prepared my house paperwork ready for buying it
Lol
I hope it'll be a happy home!
Woosh
I think the container it comes with would a serve as good makeshift home.

55" LED 4K 60hz, Walmart refurbished $350. 2 years so far, love it. Latency isn't that bad. Gaming from my bed.
MazdaPride89 that’s that every day grind
Respect to you my brother
MazdaPride89 man, i wish i could put up with the latency! I tried this out and just couldn't deal with it.. Im glad its working for you tho!
asus is gonna make one? well we already know its gonna be the most expensive and the only one linus will review
Because ASUS does stuff right.... And has one of the lowest RMA rates thanks to their manufacturing process...
I have an Asus monitor and it frigging rocks!
Asus stuff isnt the most expensive. Though they do have the best quality from my personal experience. .
FloorManiac not just your personal experience. Statistically they do have the lowest RMA rate. Which probably comes from them being the only ones with a 100% fully robotic/automated production line.

$2000? Lol not a chance. For 65 inches this thing will directly compete with top of the line 4k TV's from LG and Samsung.
yeah which are $2500 and will probably be cheaper on their next iteration so like $2000
plus it's not OLED like LG's C7 nor does it have the 1500 nit brightness of Samsung's Q7

I'm all for this monitor. But that local dimming looks really bad.
This is a Prototype right? They should push for oled!
wont be nearly as noticeable sitting far back.

I've done tech shows at the same convention center. Union workers are shady as hell. I've seen plenty of stuff go missing when it was left to the unions to take care of things.
IT BEEN A YEARRRRR ?
Congratulations Linus and his team you all have finally crossed the 5 million sunscribers mark
i am thinking 2 things:
1: My desk is too small.
2: I'm too poor
thats a tv not supposed to be on a desk
Nico1a5 but wouldn't that be super cool? like a vision-filling gaming experieence?
Flight sims would be great with it
If I have too look up, no thanks.
This is made for couch gaming.
Put it at a desk and your neck is gonna hurt.
LBGST zockt too poor is enough of a reason...
True 120hz 4K VA panel
full array backlight
integrated nvidia shield
gsync
this thing checks all the boxes ..
EXCEPT THAT IT'S A FREAKING 65'' TV FFS
Benoit Levesque it’s way too big for pc gaming unless you pull a desk far away from a wall
isn't that the point? So you can game on your couch? I don't think anyone is suggesting this be set up on a freaking desk.
"4K 120Hz Gaming ****TV**** from NVIDIA!?" It's a TV FFS
I’d buy it if it was 80”
It is perfect if you throw out the office chair and get a recliner...
4k 120hz eh? im still rocking a monitor with 768p 60hz
Me Too!!
Same
Feel ya bro
omg,,,,
Murmeldyret umm no...
I want one. Keep it under $2,000 for a 55" and I'm in.
But this video is not even in 4k :(
you dont need 4k to see 4k quality. just the resolution sharpness. i have a 2k monitor and the change from 1080p to 4k is mind blowing.
The Story of Life my monitor is 2560x1080 at 21:9 ultra wide. Of course it is down scaled but the color quality and imagery is not I would say. Just the resolution goes down like decreasing anti aliasing
Rlly
The Story of Life. No no no! 2K = 2048×1080. And 4K is twice that so 4K = 4096×2160. Do not mix cinema resolution standards with monitor resolutions. If you talk about monitors, please refer to them as "p"s, like 1080p. And if the aspect ratio isn't the default 16:9, then state that as well. 🙄
Or alternatively say FullHD or UHD.
In case you want to see what the actual resolution numbers look like;
To calculate the full resolution range use the common ratio to calculate the full resolution range, and then multiple together.
HD = 720/9*16=1280 Full Surface Area 921,600
QHD/2k = 1440/9*16=2560 Full Surface Area= 3,686,400 (4 times the size of HD)
Full HD = 1080/9*16=1920 Full Surface Area 2,073,600
UHD/4k = 2160/9*16=3840 Full Surface Area= 8,294,400 (4 times the size of Full HD)
8k = 4320/9*16=7680 Full Surface Area 33,177,600 (4 time the size of 4k).
All I want is a good IPS G-Sync monitor that doesn't cost more than my entire PC
That exists 100x over.
- ViewSonic XG2703-GS 27-inch WQHD IPS Gaming Monitor with G-Sync 165Hz 1440p
- ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q 27 inch WQHD Gaming Monitor IPS 1440p 165Hz
Both amazing monitors.
Yeah I don't think spending over $1000 for a monitor is worth it
Funfact: Synergy is open source. You don't have to buy the program, you can just go to github and compile it.
Just saying 😁
Post Malone will instantly buy this monitor!
Jimmy Dali who dat
tv?
Right!
Timmy Turner Go back to bed.
Jimmy Dali Haha great one
75" panel without the gamer styling and lots of I/O and I'm sold. I haven't watched terrestrial, cable or satellite for years. I *do* however want lots of HDMI. It seems that TOSLink is going away and I hate the idea of wasting a socket on ARC. Multiple DP on a panel that size would be useful. Also, GbE and 802.11AC please. Multiple USB 3.x options are a must. A decent voice activated controller would be a strong plus. Prolly £2.5K max and I'm in...
Nice, can’t wait to spend my entire life’s savings on this
I'd buy it for 2k or less. Any more then that and I'll just play the waiting game like I did with 4k TV/Monitor's.
This is basically a top end 4k TV. Even with the trade off of less dimming zones, with its feature set, I predict it'll be far more expensive than nearly any TV of the same size.
Wouldn't a 1080p or 2K or 4K VR/AR headset be preferred?
( ... instead of a giant 40-inch or 50-inch or 60-inch 2K/4K gaming monitor/television?)
thanks for all those *big suprises* from linus!
My pc is all funny now
My dream TV if only it was OLED.
BfoSHIZnats the refresh rates are too low and the input delays are way too high
BfoSHIZnats watch out for that HUD burn in if it was OLED.
Cool! Can’t wait until these features are standard on almost every tv!
Linus: here’s this new innovated gaming monitor!
Jayz2cents: here’s my card suspension
1:17-1:25 I don't get it but I'm excited
Nice deep blacks
I can't look at Linus's shirt without thinking of the game "Out of This World" on the SNES. Yes, I know it was called "Another World" on PC. I never played it on the PC. The SNES version was/is awesome. Unique graphics/art style and a soundtrack that still kicks ass!
Try not to steal this one Linus
Anything over £1,500 is too much to pay for a TV/monitor, even one this good.
hopefully they have more than one size option (with hopefully a significant difference in price too). even though there might already be large pc monitors on the market, how many of them boast these kinds of high end pc gamer features (g-sync, ultra low latency, 120hz, etc). i'd like to them ranging from 40-75" (as a 65" is not REALLY an ideal size even for the most "PCMR" of us). looking to finally purchase a tv...looks like i'll just be waiting and saving!
hopefully linus doesn't drop this one
5 million subs congrats!!
That is awesome! I have been wanting a big TV with adaptive sync tech and high refresh rate for so long! It's about damn time. Now it's a wait for the price to drop on this.
So tv's are getting gsync & low latency in the future?
Ryan Kim No, we will just have dedicated gaming displays for the ones that can pay them.
Linus looks terrifying in the thumbnails
Over 20 years of waiting! Finally! Now let's hope I will be still alive when OLED version will come up.
wouldnt pay anymore than 2k for it... esp since I imagine that there will be a ton 4K TVs in 2018 that will be able to support 120hz at 4k once hdmi 2.1 gets implemented into them and becomes the new standard.
I dare you to tell me that I can afford it.
*I DOUBLE DARE YOU*
*A F F O R D A B L E*
you cant afford it
you cant afford it
you double dared me so i said it two times
if you have a fat wallet (with high numbers on "paper") you can
Love the idea of this! Hopefully it will eventually come in down in the affordable price range.
i cant imagine how much this will cost. also calling it, that it wont come out until October at the earliest
Maybe
A screen shouldn't cost more than my PC
A lot of high end monitors and ultrawides already cost more than most people's PC's. Besides when it comes to these, cost shouldn't be an issue. It's a long term investment. A monitor is not something you upgrade for a long time. And you buy GPU's later to utilize the full potential of your monitor. I just got a AW3418DW and while yeah my 1070 can max it out, my next GPU upgrade will and I will be happy with that for a while.
You could buy 3 high end pcs for the price of whatever this thing is gonna be.
When monitors are better than pc's
What?
What?
When monitors are more expensive than PCs.
I think he means when monitors are too advanced (Resolution and refresh rate (with G-Sync)) for computers to even take advantage of the monitor fully.
Lofty
Makes sense.
Is that Seagull in the back? Could've fooled me lmao
That’s what I thought when I saw it lmao.
Haha so cool
I don't know his name but it's a Linus employee.
He looks similar to him
Your profile picture has the best anime imo
They are still counting the digits of the price...
0:53 Aahh such a magnificent design....
5 grand? Uhhh, no thanks.
prerunnerwannabe plus the rig powerful enough for 4k 120Hz
Seriously though.
don't buy it
i would only pay 500 bucks!
jk 5
$2K-$3K easily, nah thanks, i'll get a couple GTX 1080TI's instead
4k 120hz 65 inch T.V.... You are going to need a couple of 1080Ti's to run the thing.
Why not both?
Why would anyone dump $2k in graphics cards and short themselves on a display to that makes those cards shine??? You don't use a Hayabusa motor to power a Vespa
But that sounds like fun.
why not splurge and pay $5k for a TITAN V then? it will be better than a 1080ti and probably the next gen GeForce for some time also a very good compute card for when you get the cyptomining viruses onto your machine from the google play store
In Norway good tv's are around 7k, I can already feel like this will be 13k
5000 is really too much, at least give us OLED for that price.
DaveKexfre seriously, I'd kill for an OLED 1080p 27" FreeSync panel... Elite Dangerous would look MARVELOUS.
OLED unfortunately still has problems with burn in, and I suspect this is why OLED monitos aren't already a thing. But yes, a 120+ Hz OLED with G-sync/FreeSync would be so awesome!
FreeSync then you need to ask AMD for the monitor. And 1080p is for last decade specs, I think
Erland Johansen you can get some laptops with OLED. I'd be nervous about buying one though.
I think Elite would look even better on a 55" or 65" 4K oled.
All for the low low price of $5,000
Just want to say "FINALLY".
If it's more than 3000 dollars it's not worth it without OLED as well.
Terror962 its quantum dot ..so similar
Terror962 it will probably be much much more
+Eara Soulous quantom dot has nothing to do with oled. Itd just the name thats similar to confuse the average customer
KamehamehaNudel I know I'm not stupid my work involves selling led vs oled vs quantum dot both work quite similarly
please explain where they "work quite similarly"
I need a 35 to 40 inch version.....
just use a chainsaw until you cut it into the right resolution ( the parts you cut off will grow back just like teeth
Gaming Life Why not it worked on my video card.
You and me both. A 40", 4k, 120hz monitor with Displayport and gsync would make my day.
Bradley Weingartner Would make my week and possibly month.
hey linus, if i'm not wrong the g-sync can be used also via hdmi!
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY.... oh yeah I'm 16 and unemployed.... do you accept socks? :'D
Crusty socks?
If you're 16 you can get a job.
Perform enough sucks and you have enough for the TV and socks. You could charge extra for being underage.
KamiKaZantA will suck for Nvidia TV
Finally all the features a geek would want in a TV. I would never pay more than 2k though.
Steven Cheatham it's guna be close to 4k
I would not pay more than 5$
Congratulations for 5M subscribers #LINUSISBEST
I'll take 2!
caitlinV3 I bet you will you slag
Might as will make it 3 to really get immersive. I'm sure Nvidia will send you a review sample.
I would retire instead.
That'll be 1 kidney, please.
I'm dying right now
Sounds expensive. And I'm about to sell blood to buy groceries. Good for the people can afford it
Mykel Hardin I think he was kidding...
Alot of people are still struggling with full time jobs my dude.
Obviously have been very lucky in life then dude. Lucky, lucky you.
Mykel Hardin hey ya shit fuck. I have a career. So fuck you. Still a 2 thousand dollar tv is something I can't afford
Mykel Hardin go work job how about you go school fucking idiot
not bad, bring on the OLED with freesync at 55inches please LG.
$2,500 USD Max. TCL already has a great 55" 4K HDR TV with super low input lag for just $400
Chris DiGi dude is it 4k 120hz g sync???? Ofc not i dont even have to check this tv is insane i exoect 4-6k
Chris DiGi yeah. But gsync lol
Chris DiGi yea but thats not a gaming monitor. No way you can get 120hz or higher for 400$ let alone 65" screen..
Exactly the number I had in my head. Scrolled down and this was the most recent comment.... Brother.
Congratulation for 5 mil subs bro
So first it's not actually a TV, just a massive monitor with a Shield TV built-in (yes they are different).
Second this will be fantastic with whatever succeeds the 1080ti, Titan V has performance to push this, I'd just like to see a smaller model because 60"+ is too big. Would love this on a 40-42" version
My ceiling would be $2k for a 42' display. Higher than that, and I will just wait for the price to come down.
lmao just grabbing the mouse and keyboard
0:53 looks a lot like a snapshot from a video you made a while back about "the ultimate gaming monitor" ;)
Nice screen. The problem for me are the blacks. That sounds racist but it ain't.
It's a VA panel. These get much darker than IPS.
I wish they made monitor with superAMOLED but it would be expensive af
still wouldn't be able to spot enemies on PUBG SMH
my estimate on the price is around $3-4k .
$5000?! No way!
Max $2000 but i would really pay $1500
I need OLED / 5K / 21:9 / 200 HZ / 38 inch Monitor.
no
Better start saving money by selling a liver or ten.
Don’t worry you could find it when you sleep
ابو ضاري I'm going to sleep then.
Dude we're still on 2018
4:35 Jesus, Linus is so aggressive, the poor guy playing was in shock! :D
Higher refresh rate is the future for gaming not fancy 6k/8k resolution
Feng Elias both are honestly
Pierre Brassart lets figure out gpu's that are able to play in 4k 144hz at ultra settings first. Oh and oled panels...
TheGsGClan it's not available yet and Nvidia Volta will be released this year.
Console gamer logic: “PC gaming is too expensive”
*proceeds to buy a 80inch 4K TV
Really hope you check out the Pimax 8K development on V5. I'm a backer & it's been very quiet lately with Pimax. I'm worried hehe
no more than 20 bucks
ye but where the oled at?
Fuck oled, microLED is the future.
Great Video Linus . Exciting to see Larger Screens that can be utilized for gaming. Still love my Acer Z35 Gsync for now ( evil grin ). But hey my Son would love it.
I can’t even purchase gsync monitors
Throws wallet at the screen
*Throws wallet as screen*. Screen responds "i need more"
This sounds awesome.
Linus For the love of Gaming and Tech God
DONT DROP THAT THING
I give you $2 for dis.
