Kokoricoco Monsieur Olivier…
JPG on STEROIDS! The themes were all there, highlighting the years of Jean Paul’s incredible legacy. But somehow Olivier seems not quite the right fit for interpreting Gaultier. After a spirited opening of several wonderful Future Afro-inspired fusion looks modeled rapidly by men, the tone and vibe changed dramatically. Too many looks that models could barely navigate what with their heaviness or rigidity! A rattan basket woven cone breasted gown comes to mind (more Olivier than JPG) felt awkward and itchy, while metal gowns and dresses inspired by Gaultier’s fragrance bottles felt costumey and Tres Gimmicky, let alone uncomfortable and highly restrictive based on the models teetering and lumbering down an intimate runway! This feels more like a Gautier homage/tribute. A greatest hits POP compilation! Great for H&M, but lacking the Gaultier sublime finesse and non-conformist poetry of the master himself! While JPG’s clothes were Radical and Bad Ass, they were also impossibly chic and drop dead in his prime! And I must mention those God Awful “Clod Hoppers” (as my mother used to call the sky high platform shoes we wore in the 70’s) weighted everything down more than elevating Jean Paul’s aesthetic, let alone the models height, for a balcony viewing of each look, an adoring mass of followers standing outside on the street cell phones in hand ….. madly clicking. After kissing and bowing to JPG, the final look modeled by legendary Kristen McMenamy (the ever renegade mannequin) ironically fell flat on her ass! It truly was the best moment of this ‘Nice Try, But No Cigar’ couture show! How Apropos!
All the guests keep fanning themselves frantically …. Don’t they have a good air conditioning system 🤣🤣🤣 luxury without right temperature …. Seams …. My goodness…. Not right
Rule #1 Don't make people fan themselves at your show. Have AC please set to 40f. Disgusting. #2. Sorry but I did not enjoy this collection at all. I'm sure Madonna did this already. Which is fine, but not new or fashion FORWARD. Some garments were so restrictive they couldn't move!
I definitely saw Olivier's DNA in the pieces.
Beautiful
Amazing art!,, Hope to see it for many years to come. Thank you!,, Finally!,,
This is FASHION! Taking it other worldly, eccentric, future-space punk and loved the tribal men's look in beg.. Love, Love, Love

I guess Glenn martens has set a bar that is impossible to top
Belgian designers have a tendency to do that.
Can’t agree more
Not sure why they didn’t just as Glen to continue with the Couture……?
@@randolphduke9964 man I wish
Um, this is so tacky & gimmicky in all the wrong ways possible…
Hate the music.
Ugly shoes; however, the textiles used were interesting.
