Thoroughly enjoyed all 27 mins of this video! One of your best so far in my opinion, I’m telling my self that these are tips I have been already applying to myself! Much agreed with you. Top video.
Since ps1 era I buy games a generation or two older in bulk. Its not as easy now. But I use to spend tins at eb games for ps1, ps2 and xbox. At one point was 3 for 1. I have almost doubled my investment each time. Great video btw

excellent video! I think this is one your best so far and the most informative. I learnt so much. I'll be sure to share this around. Keep up the good work! :)
Thank you for the advice. I’ve been successful in stock market investing and have been looking into other things to move some money into. This video really helped me understand better what I’m getting into. 👍🏻
Would love to hear your take on modern collectibles involving sneakers, designer clothes and overall “hypebeast culture” that includes art from KAWS, Murakami, etc. There is a huge auction on Sotheby’s right now titled Modern Collectibles that features all the top “grail” items in this category that I find very interesting.
Great video! Specialization is a great advice! I started looking into different areas until I ended up specializing in Pokemon .. I have been doing that for years now ...there is so much movement in that alone that I am unable to go to other markets yet! By the way I read the book you recommended by Maureen and it was a fantastic read, thank you!
Insurance companies provide coverage for collectibles and antiques which is an alternative to storing items in a bank vault but with the added benefit of allowing one to enjoy their possessions.

Great video. Your videos have woke me up from the speculative stupor I've been in in the Pokemon market. I love Pokemon(always will), but your videos have made me more critical of the "investments" I've been considering lately. It's safe to say you saved me from buying sealed modern Pokemon product at the peak of this current speculative bubble. Looking forward to dusting off my coin collection and re-kindling that old passion. Thank You!
Shawn, more content on how to compose a business plan would be greatly appreciated. Maybe you could make a video where you go through an example for a simple collecting category? Or cover an old plan that you wrote and followed through on.
What books should I read if I’m into Golden Age precode horror comic books? I’m already quite deep into these. I only recently discovered your channel. Thank you.
Do you have a specific video where you go over books that you recommend or is it just in a video here you mention a book and another video over there you mention another book etc? I would LOVE for you to make a video delineating what books you recommend and why. You only have so much time and so much you can impart on others so being pointed in a direction to go on my own in my free time would be greatly appreciated!
What are your thoughts on Lego as an investment. Can you do a video dedicated to LEGO as a collectible and/or investment? What are your thoughts on ROI in a 2-4 year time frame? Thanks
You have opened my eyes and have given me a new focus. I really appreciate you and all your videos. Could you do some videos on how to invest in the stock market as I have recently purchased a lot of amiibo's and Nintendo collectors packs after investing in dreamcast games and I may have paid too much. I wanted to flip them and get a least my money back with a little bit on top. But when I sell them I need to know where to put my money. Cash spent on these item total approximately £2500.I live in England, would the stock market be the same to get nearly 7% return? Also would one stock of £2500 or 5 stocks of £500 be best.
my top 5 tips for buying collectibles 1. Buy them from me 2. tell your friends to buy from me 3. tell your family to buy from me 4. tell strangers to buy from me 5. Only buy from me and no one else
What do you think of modern release sealed pokemon booster boxes? Will they have the same appreciation with the vintage? As most people wont have the means to access to vintage products as the price are sky rocket high. Also, will vintage products come to a ceiling price and alot of investors to diversify to another product?
As a novice toy collector, I am wondering is there is any point in collecting them if company's like Hasbro constantly reissue toys such as the Star Wars Black Series.
Hmm, my mindset is.. If I want it I buy it. But before buying I check prices so I dont overpay. And then I evaluate how much Im willing to give for the item. After that I try and buy the item with some more items to flip, hopefully paying for the item I want myself. That is the way I have gotten most of my video game collection.
ive watched numerous videos but i stopped collecting comic books back in the early 2000's. where do you discuss the exit strategy on that particular collectible. ALSO, i know you frown on it... but i now collect Funko Pops. where do you discuss connecting those items? do you know auction houses that specialize in funko pops?
@@ReservedInvestments could you please do a little bit more research on the topic and make a video? i had to get rid of my Disney genre because it was taking up to much space. as a result, ive had a little bit of success locally getting rid of them. they sell well above pop price guide (ppg) values. you've got the resources and the reach to see where the bigger market is. it's a bigger niche than video game collectors, I'm positive of that.
@@o5nickl Very well versed in this area. It is behaving exactly like Beanie Babies did in 1996. This is no different, hence why no high profile auction house will ever specialize in these. Take some time and watch my other videos. FunkoPops are a bubble waiting to POP.
I'm kind of confused on how pop culture collectable markets are in linear markets. You said that the coins, currency, collectable 1st edition books, etc are cyclical, but how are markets like Pokémon linear? Doesn't the market go up and down overtime? Linear would imply that it goes in a straight line upwards.
How's this one. Hypothetically if the current value of that purchase is now zero, is the personal enjoyment he receives from owning those items diminished?

Lego can be a good speculative collectible, but as a long term ‘investment’, meaning five years or more, it sucks. More videos on Lego are coming...

That is the trend going forward...reissues are common.

How much are you paying for storage and safety-deposit boxes?
That would be a great question for a Q & A. The simple answer: safe deposit boxes are cheaper than off-site climate controlled storage.
