You are so right about Jimmy going too fast. He might be a good one on one teacher, but this medium requires an approach such as Justin Sandercoe or Andyguitar. He seems uncomfortable walking through the step by step mechanics of what he's doing.

@@jamesmccarthy3198 Hey James, it's impossible to cater to everyone on this platform. If I make it too simple, I lose the intermediate to advanced players. When I move quickly, I lose the beginners. It's a tough call and we always try to switch things up.
You may be better served checking out my shorts that cater to very simple licks in bite size chunks, or taking the free 5 day beginner blues challenge at jimmydillon.com/free/

E pentatonic will work but consider mixing in some blue notes as well.
