The story my instructor told us helps to play the emotions of the piece. La'grima means "tear" in Spanish. A young girl who worked in a sewing factory would stare out the window at the sidewalk every day, and a handsome young man would flirt with her daily through the window and she was so in love with him (this is represented by the opening major key of the piece). One day, he came walking by with another girl on his arm and a tear rolled down her face (this is represented by the minor key of the piece). Play the piece with that emotion in mind.

Played electric guitar a while but recently got a classical guitar. Been just noodling around on it with a pick but decided to learn fingerstyle. I could already hybrid pick pretty well and my left hand is pretty advanced so maybe that helped but this was a great first song for learning fingerstyle! Thanks man. Plan on using a lot more of ur channel from now on
Thanks so much for this. The tab I had was wrong in places and this helped me work it out. I changed the fingering in bar 11 to (from the A) 1, 3, 2, 4 and it's so much easier! Just like a spider walk up now instead of a massive stretch.
