Depending how they stick the landing, the whole movie could be Arthur’s fantasy w Dr Quinzel. He snaps out of it and thinks it was all in his mind but then she ends their session by calling him “pudding”. Fade to black

I am honestly hear for a change to the canon of Harley being Joker's therapist. Unethical patient relationships are a bit eek these days so the multiverse can have variance too. (could still be a doctor though)

I have 2 theories:
1. This is all a hallucination from his only glance of her and at the end she is or isn’t visiting him in prison
2. The roles are reversed and she’s the “toxic” and manipulated him to go on a crime spree and be the fall guy for her
Or SURPRISE 3. She gets shot as foreshadowing by the finger bang to the head in the teaser symbolizing that they are canon to never working out or being together by life and either would melt my heart and make me cry (i don’t cry often)
Let me put a twist on your first theory, as it is an interesting repeat of first movie idea, but in your iteration - just repeated 1:1 almost. It would be just repeat of first movie, where he has nothing to do with person he imagined himself with. Whats more probable with similiar twist if they go for it, is that she is not just tagging along or even leading with toxicity, but that HE is and he is manipulating her, but he is imagining he isnt. Like, he imagines a love story with her, but then we see cut and she is just broken by him, crying or smth, full on stockholm syndrom

Personally I hope they think they’re both the alpha, “look at this clown I got wrapped around my finger” “he smiles on command” “she always comes to visit” like classic toxic, giving a voice to what mutual abuse can look like.

Sophie didn't die tp already confirmed that 5 years ago saying he didn't kill her that she never wronged him. There was a scene cut with her watching the Murray Franklin show which we may see that in the sequel im suspecting her role is even less significant in the sequel shes not that important or interesting of a character
The set pieces won me over. Gaga is gonna slay regardless of the role but I was curious if it would be more theater than cinematic and it is. The use of black as a background to evoke surrealism is perfect
DC started the multiverse idea in comics in the 60s when they relaunched their Golden Age heros as new versions of themselves in a new universe.
It was actually the 50s via Wonder Woman, it’s one of the few DC facts I care about lol. Marvel then did their spin in the 60s with the F4, so it’s fitting that their new movie is inspired by all that simultaneously
The multiverse idea actually started with a woman named Carol Anne Frasier in Toledo, Iowa in the late 40s when she recalled buying Uncle Ben’s rice and Aunt Jemima’s syrup when suddenly, the names were switched upon her opening her cupboard; Jemima had the rice and Ben was sweet on her.
She continued to have multiple instances like this over the years, with her husband constantly disregarding her wild stories of doughnut’holes’ (they were just flat disks of pastry here) and ‘red lights green lights’ (the traffic signals here merely said STOP and GO, there was no yellow, there was no middle, there was no WOAH WOAH WOAH).
That is…until her husband passed. Turns out him not smoking a pack of SHINERS(Tm) CIGARETTES, THE ONLY BRAND YOULL EVER NEED! actually did kill him; he needed those every day. So anyway, she makes a drastic change in life and moves to South Africa where she meets local head jailer and police chief Nelson Mandela and they have a wonderful life together where they spawn one new beautiful baby boy.
And that baby boy grew up to be Kanye West, where he went on to become leader of the Tactical Federation of Terrans. Yes, there were penguins.

Grace’s breakdown of this trailer was so good. She nailed it! I think these guys were off on a few of things, but I still love them. Especially Cotton Candy Randy 😂
