To me, milsims are what is left of games that functions on teamwork. Take squad for example (7th shout out :p). the game lives and dies on teamwork. Meanwhile in arma, you can be a one man army, but if the enemy overwhelms you, you're a gonner. But in squad, with the ICO, it's something that FORCES you to coordinate with your team. And that's what I love about milsims. Teamwork.
It sounds like you’re saying that Squad might be less flexible but more demanding of teamwork, which I agree. Arma I think has higher potential for enabling a greater degree of milsim.
@@HaebyungDance basically. but squad also advertise itself as gapping the bridge between milsims and arcade shooters. in arma, even reforger, the medical system is a lot. you have to have blood bags, medkits, morphine, and the other stuff a noob like me wouldn't understand. but in squad, it's a medkit and an infinite medic bag.

Thank you for the shout out! You might be interested to know that since I made that video, I created a prototype of my medical idea (where players spawning in on the front lines still have their injuries to deal with, giving medics a full time job 🤣). The liberation server looks like good fun too🔥🔥👍
I used to love the game modes Evolution and Domination. Sometimes when you can only get on at funky times fighting against AI on these missions that ran until the island was cleared, it was the beauty of these mission types.
quick tips for medical elastic bandages are the best for quickly stopping bleeding, they will cover wounds the quickest compared to any other bandage but they do fall off the quickest dont worry about tourniquets until you've checked their vitals and gotten a HR back, especially if you dont know how long they've been down, if the limb isnt bleeding, it isnt an issue for now also, iirc, you can reorient people even if you're not a medic, so if someones stable and has only lost some blood, hit reorient a few times and they should wake up also you dont need 50 hours to play medic, only platoon medic, there are squad level medics that anyone can play as
Awesome to see you in KC:L! Funny to see another perspective on the same firefights I was in. If only that dingaling NightOwlSMB landed his AT-4 shot... P.S. KC:L vietnam is baller as hell
play with 50% aiming deadzone, and 'Animated recoil coeffieient changer' plus 'animated corner shooting' workshop mods if you want punchy, reactive gunplay
RIS module on any middle eastern map playing as IDF against takistan insurgents give your faction 1mill start funds and use artillery sypport to level all the buildings on the map in enemy occupied areas and advance with tank support amd air support super realistic havent found anything more fun, spending 300k on artillery support and air strikes to level a whole city just looks and feels insane to do in a game and then advancing thru the destruction in first person as infantry omg its amazing
I have a feeling any member of any country's military, regardless of branch, would claim they are at least a decade behind on trends including those serving in the US
the only downside to lib is theres a lot of people who arent willing to just wait for a minute, ive seen too many people ignore 1-6 or others because they dont want to wait, or others who blindly throw themself at enemies and then wonder why they die on the otherhand theres loads of awesome people who, with a good leader who knows his shit and can effectively communicate in a way that everyone understands, you can do so much and have loads of fun doing it some of the most fun ive had was leading guys as 1-6, in an assault onto a military base and capturing it without too many casualties or sprinting up to bunkers and chucking frags in them while people suppressed it nice video though, very informative
Arma and Squad are both milsim games requiring teamwork but cater to different audiences. Arma players often prefer operational experiences against bots, while Squad focuses on multiplayer battles. A one-life gameplay system wouldn't work in multiplayer milsims due to the need for respawn systems. Expecting players to respawn at the main base isn't feasible without significantly increasing player counts, which could overwhelm servers. Even in Arma Reforger multiplayer, spawn points near objectives are used to balance gameplay.
@@HaebyungDance You need to hold points & if it takes half an hour to get to point. Enemies will take it easily. You need more guys who can replace the ones dying in order to hold objectives. If you have the solutions to it just share with me i guess...
The solution is to not die and defend the objective successfully. If everyone dies and the objective is lost the team needs to reorganize to defend the next, or reorganize to counter attack and retake the OBJ. It’s a more natural ebb and flow.
That's not how it works. Dying is part of the game. No way you are defending without any casualties. It only works when you are against bots in arma. If you are playing against real players, you will take casualties that need to be replaced.
No one said casualties aren’t being taken. They are replaced by reinserts. The attacking team also faces the same limitations. Now this Arma server is primarily PvE but it definitely works and works very well in PvP too - in Squad no less. Here’s an example: th-cam.com/video/ex_F88ULLcg/w-d-xo.html This isn’t just theory, I know it works because I’ve played using these rules multiple times now, and it results in a more authentic milsim experience. The point is that dying is more impactful because it means you can fail.
@@HaebyungDance Ohh, you said "ROKMC". My previous google search for "ROC MC" provided me with a bunch of gibberish. Due to the combination of name and flawless accent, I always assumed you were American of Korean decent. Are you perhaps dual citizen that did voluntary enrolment?
Squad as a whole is a good military game and had the potential to be a much bigger mil experience before the devs and community tanked it. The devs couldn’t live up to thr promises they kept making and tossed the dev road map out the window due to this. Company gets sold, new devs became obsessed with trying to overhaul gunplay in lieu of new maps, new game modes (desperately need more), new factions. ICO was a huge waste of time and assets of the devs. The community has become full of 15 year old screamers and meme trollers. Squad has been handed over to a horrible community and I’m glad I left and will never come back. Glad you’re putting more time into Arma. I run Karmas server all the time. Look for Hendrix. I SL all the time.
Yeah it’s a matter of developer vision and community culture - I’ll still be playing squad but I’ve definitely been spending more time on Arma. I’ll look out for you Hendrix - I’m still Dance in-game.
It all depends on the server you play. Show of Force have a good community that will work hard to make it adult friendly. Good experience regular. I think squad is still a great game. I play it everyday
