Coming back to this video years later to say that I ended up building a Lego snare of my own, have gigged with it on numerous occasions, and loved it so much I'm working on a second one. Thank you for uploading this video and giving me the inspiration to do it myself.
As the person who built the one Samus showed off, do it! This video lived rent-free in my head for years until I decided to bite the bullet and was the direct inspiration for it.
Entertaining and informative; that's you, Brian!!! I like this kit even more than the kit in the Discovery Museum at PAS. Your "engineering on the fly" is as impressive as your creativity. I always enjoyed working with you and I hope that we can do it again before we can't remember who we are anymore!
If you go to lego pick a brick, 1x3 bricks cost $0.14 and the round tube is $0.06. To get 14 inches across you need about 35 bricks and 35 rounds and you need about 15 layers to get a 5.5 deep snare. Grouping a brick with a tube @ $0.20 x 35 x 15 = $105 He used a couple of special bricks to mount the throw and the butt plate. Plus the bearing edges. At least double that for a 14” floor tom. Maybe triple for a 16” bass. Probably $1000 for a 4 piece, unless you get a better deal on legos
Awesome! I like the snare drums of different material. I myself made a snare with a Ford XR2 rim It's possible to have the list of bricks to have to make one? Many thanks
Hello, amazing kit and it sounds pretty awesome, I would like to build one. Can you please provide info on the exact bricks and other parts you used and the quantity in each drum
Legos and drums two of the best things in the world put together....

This is actually the third LEGO drum set I have seen and I am getting inspired to build a snare.
