I appreciate you were instructed by the customer, but what was exactly was the point of removing all that epicormic growth save to make it easier for a climber to move around in the tree? Before you started, I expected there were going to be some crossing branches or inclusion weaknesses but no...and given that nothing live any bigger than my thumb was cut, it made me wonder whether the owner just wanted to hear the sound of a saw. End result worse for wildlife too (fewer nesting & food opportunities). Hmmn.
Great kid and I know he has good intentions with his videos but what was done to this tree was completely done from a lack of education. Could have been what the client wanted but definitely not what the tree wanted.
@@matthewadams2485 unnecessary for the trees health but cleaning that up makes the tree looker cleaner which people like. A tree is usually best if left alone (except structural issues) which is why prunes customers get are crown thinning or dead wooding etc. Getting rid of those suckers allows for easy view of the impressive scaffold branch structure.
@@DizastrousMindsShine Don't pull my leg (=joke) over this. The windage (=capacity to 'catch' the wind as does a sail and so exert lateral force on the trunk and turning moment on the stump) of those TINY shoots is (was) NEGLIGIBLE. Moreover they are low in the tree and so can stress the stump even less during a blow.
Too bad you couldn't have put mats out buddy and use that bucket truck great job though nice work

@@Wizard_ofthewoods cleaning the inside of the tree is not just for looks, it allows the air to go through it so its safer for the tree during storms.
