@@ale347baker Hi! Sorry for not replying immediately. My grandson is a big 15yr old so I used an adult size and I can't remember now which of Gent’s patterns I followed. I did go on to make the face mask shown in this video, but I did not use the extended arms for around the head as featured, I just cut the pattern at the ear and completed it as a normal mask with the elastics enfolded in the side seam and going around the ear; elastics knotted, should adjustment be needed. Grandson loved that one too. I have made loads of different styles for various family members and find the most popular is still the plain Olsen Style; I even made the girls glittery ones, sized down for little faces, (with cotton liners), which they loved. My Go to … Very Easy New Style (Olsen Style): th-cam.com/video/Umh2mGbaUuI/w-d-xo.html and Hubby’s favourite … New design - No fog on glasses: th-cam.com/video/brV751_yAXk/w-d-xo.html. There are so many patterns now on TH-cam…. But the simplest ones seem to come out the best. Good luck with your sewing and stay safe.
@@ale347baker I agree ... I find the 3D style very comfortable too. I just enjoy the sewing experience. My eldest grandchild's boyfriend has a short beard so I've been trying a pattern, shaped with a single dart at the nose and two darts on the chin edge. He's seemed to find the fit comfy. Lo muy rescatable es el patron q enseñaste a hacer.... Creo q mas confortable es poner las tiras detras de la cabeza con velcro...aparte... Si uno va hacer muchas mascaras se va toda la tela...haciendolo todo pegado mascara y tira en una sola pieza. Otro: Cosiendo alrededor y volteando la mascara y pespuntandola despues es mucho mejor y menos tela.... y menos engorroso hacer y poner sin prensatela especial un bis... Ya yo hize mis mascaras como estoy indicando salio perfecto.... (pero con elastico en vez de la tira q pasa detras de la oreja...) Hare la prueba asi...ya q no hay elasticos ni para comprar... Buen video... Oooh...el ganchio de la nariz se puede hacer sacando las bases redondas de las latas de soda.... Salen hasta 8 tiras de 2cm x largo de la lata.... Se doblan los bordes y luego se dobla en dos.... Se hacen 2 costuras paralelas (del ancho de la tira) y luego ya con ella dentro se cose a cada extremo para q no se salga..... Es muy moldeable a la nariz...asi...no molesta usarlo todo el dia y tapa todo filtro alrededor. Buen video....😊😊

That tool is called a Bias Tape Maker. They can come in 3-4 sizes in a kit, depending on what kit you get. That material isn't really stretchy, but if you cut woven material on the bias (diagonally) it will have some stretch to it. He might have used a knit material in the bias tool, but I don't think so. Knit fabrics do tend to stretch, but it didn't look like it was stretching when he pulled it through the tool.
@@The_Woof_Pack It takes a narrow strip of fabric and curls both sides in to a fold as it comes out the other end. Then you fold what comes out in half lengthwise and iron it to make bias tape. The raw edges are folded inside so they won't unravel. The tool just makes it much faster and easier to fold a long strip of fabric inward so you can iron it down that way. If you watch this man's video carefully, you will see the man used to tool to make bias tape to use as a binding which was sewn over and along the raw edge of the mask to give the edge a nice finished look. It looks professional. Look up: "How To Use a Bias Tape Maker" and you'll get a better understanding as to how it works and why you use it.
