Free pattern
    2가지 사이즈 공유합니다(Two sizes)

    This is the best video I have seen on how to create a proper paper pattern in order to make a properly fitting fabric face mast with filter pocket! I am not a seamstress nor an engineer! You have made the process so simple to follow! You are a true blessing! Thank you!!

    Of all the tutorials out there, this is by far the best! it fits snuggly around the face and the easy filter pocket works great. I added a little velcro on each side to seal it better.

    While this tutorial does seem more complicated than other face mask tutorials I've seen, I like that it is the 3D shape, and looks like it allows enough space for a filter to be placed in (other 3D mask tutorials I've seen look like there's limited space to put a filter in as the upper nose piece always has a horizontal seam that would get in the way) and has a nose bridge wire as well. Thank you for putting a non-bias tape version as well! That seems more manageable than the bias-tape version although that version does look very polished! I wish you had included a photo or video of you wearing it! My main gripe with many mask tutorials is that they don't stay in place when you open your mouth and start sliding down your nose. I may give this tutorial a try!

    Thank you for sharing face mask pattern with us. And I personally thank you for the needle tip of turning cording inside out! I had not thought of that!! Also, using the HEAD of the needle going down, brilliant reminder!! I have made my pattern and am going to cut and sew now. I have enough satin ribbon but when I run out, I'll be making the cording for ties.

    Great pattern, my friend tried it first after trying several others, she found this had the best fit. I've just made one and the fit is good and still breathable too. If anyone wants an even better seal and closer fit, I'd recommend a extra piece of adjustable wide elastic that attaches on to the two ear loops and rests on the upper back of your head. Not sure if I'm explaining it well but google 'The Cambridge Mask company head strap' for photos of something similar, looks naff but makes a huge difference to othe fit. Thank you for sharing this!

    Mahalo for providing this pattern and tutorial. Although I do not feel it easily Mass producible or quite in line with so simple anyone could do it it is by far the top of the line fabric mask and worth figuring out the process and pattern.
    Anyone can do it, the tutorial is excellent despite no English commentary and it is not as complicated as it looks. 😎
    My tips: go metric the whole way. 😆
    Attention to Precision at every step from drafting through execution.
    With bias seems more complicated yet in the end easier to achieve attractive and quality finished product.
    Non woven fusible interfacing Cut minus seam allowance front and lining add additional layers for COVID-19.
    Notch clip curves, grade bulky seams and
    Pressing with iron are worth the time.
    Aloha

    Your video tutorial is very well done, I have watched it many times. You make it look really easy. I really like your mask pattern the way it goes under the chin but I agree with another comment that it would have been nice to see it modeled by someone wearing it. I have yet to try making the pattern. But one question I have is that you have links to two different pattern sizes, assuming one is a child's size. In your video you show the sizes to cut the rectangles of material (30cmx13cm & 20cm x 13cm) for cutting the pattern out. If you are using the smaller (child's) size pattern what size are you cutting the rectangles to cut the pattern pieces out of? I hope my question makes sense. Thanks

    • @JSdaily
      @JSdaily  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the small size, 24cmx13cm, 20cmx13cm is the size of the fabric. When making a bias, refer to the video to exclude the top and bottom seam allowance.
      Thank you.

    Hi JSdaily, thx for sharing such a great mask tutorial! Would like to ask if I want to sew kid’s size, can I jus print 80% base on ur pattern to make it kid’a size? Thx in advance! 😁

    • @JSdaily
      @JSdaily  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      There is no problem with 80% of the child's size, but measuring the length from ear to ear is the width of the mask.
      The length from the center of the nose to the chin is height.
      Hope it helps.
      Thank you.

    What would be the fabric measurements for the women/kids mask for both bias & no bias?

  • @getskilledalot3834

    That's a great mask. It's too complicated for me. I'm horrible at math and don't know if I'd mess it up if I convert those measurements into eighths.

      Hi, If your computer (or other device) has a calculator, you might have a ready made converter. Mine does and I use it all the time. I go the other way from inches to centimeters also known as cm. So open your calculator and in the top left corner there should be some lines. Click on those and select length or something similar. There should be two different lines opening up and for each there is a drop down window opening when you click the arrow. Select cm for one and inches for the other one. If you have the cm on the top one, you just put in the measurement in cm, and the inches should show immediately. You can shift between inches and inches the other way around, by clicking on the numbers. The one in bold is what the computer is calculating from. If you want to check it is right by dividing cm by 2.54 or if I do just 2.5 most of the time, and that is usually close enough. Good luck and stay well. Yours, Ann
      Edit: PS She is also giving you the measurements in inches in the video. DS

      If you look under the video and on to her notes at the bottom you will find a copy of the drawings that you can open and send to your printer. No need for maths

    Ok, watched it 5 times now, have pattern piece cut out (all the same fabric...not two colors, which makes it more difficult to keep straight). Anyone else...make sure you slow down the speed of the video to 50 % ...it sure helps.

    • @JSdaily
      @JSdaily  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      The length of the rubber band is a good measure of the right length to hang on your ear.
      24cm is suitable for a style without bias.
      Thank you.
