  • Sifu Serrano unites with Sensei Hernandez (Aikido expert) and give this great demonstration. You can really appreciate what happens when two martial art instructors get together and share their unique knowledge.

    I love it when people that don't know it, disrespect Kajukenbo. When they "Experience" it, they gain respect.

    I'm a Shotokan practitioner for 17 years, a Kajukenbo practitioner for 2 (intense training) years and an Aikido-ka for 3 months. It is my humble opinion that this video is very well produced and executed to beautifully show the wide range of Aikido and Kajukenbo techniques. I very much enjoyed watching the expert executions. Bravo! Thank you!

    I'm from the Philippines we have also a Combat Aikido the name is TAPONDO. The word Tapondo came from Filipino dialects (Tagalog and ilonggo) TAPON (throw) and PONDO (lock). It was now recognized as a FMA (Filipino Martial Art).

    I love both of these arts! Aikido uses energy principles and Kajukenbo uses a combination of hard and soft styles. Kaju is ever evolving and is not held back by any one art. It all depends on the Kajukenboist! Where his background lies. Karate, Judo, Juijitsu, Kenpo or chinese gung-fu. The Kajukenboist gravitates to the form that is most fitting to him while he utlilizes the other arts as needed.

    I think the two styles come from very different contexts, but but Ive done both, and I Must say that kajukenbo is the much rougher of the two, and while Aikido is more of an internal art, I feel Kajukenbo teaches both the hard and soft aspects.

    I can tell you from experience Aikido works very well. I am a black belt, but was attacked for the first time overseas, as a green belt. I was attacked by three people and it saved my life. I did get a nasty bruise from a hit, but walked away with minor damage. The other three were on the ground.

    Very cool video! I've been studying martial arts for 24 years and I started training in aikido only two years so far. I've been staying after class and working with my instructors and we have been blending all of our arts together. We are coming up with some cool stuff blending Aikido/Kempo/Kenpo/Kali/JKD/Wing Chun together. We are finding almost every art is nearly the same the application is just slightly different. Good stuff.

      luciano Garza. the bad thing about kajunkenbo n kenpo. there not recognized yet as a fighting style far as other styles concern. thou them 2 styles fit right up my alley and i feel that both styles kajunkenbo n kenpo are the way. there shouldn't be a problem with God forbid u have to take on more than 1 person. but, if you do i promise you shouldn't have a problem in doing so as long as your taught right for starters and most importantly you truely believe it fits you and they do work in mind,body and heart both my sifu's from kajunkenbo and kenpo sifu were sifu Al Dacascus ( kajunkenbo) and Ed Parker ( Kenpo). and not to brag but i and my baby brother took on 2 of sifu Gracies 2nd degree black belts and wore them out. which we did learn from them and now apart of kajunkenbo lol

    • @EVILLERKS
      @EVILLERKS 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      congrats on your wins. from the heart. any form can be a deadly form if the person truely believes in it. ive dabbled if you will in several styles. they all have there positives. even shotokan, judo, ninpo etc.. I know when i went in competition against aka and tae kwon do. i had to switch from kajunkenbo to mixed style or name a style such as moo da kwon tae kwon do. but keep the good work up. aikido a very good style, grav mata another good style. take all u can learn in all forms that you can and make it yours. another statement my sifu said many of times lol. good job and again congrats on your wins

    I find aikido very interesting. I think that the ideas of no blocks, movement around attacks, and using your enemies force against him are very useful. I have a karate background. But I am trying to diversify into other arts. I think aikido and tai chi would be great compliments to the hard strikes of Karate. Martial arts are just so interesting. You can learn something from every discipline. It's truly a life-long quest.

    Wow this video just goes to show us that many martial arts no matter how different we think they are actually share many of the same techniques. Why this is??? Because they work and have been around for hundreds or thousands of years. Ive actually seen many of the techniques that the Kajukenbo instructor was showing here in my Aikido class minus the heavier emphasis on Atemi obiviously. We do teach atemi in my Aikido dojo depending on the technique.

    Desde el punto de vista de la defensa personal, creo que el kajukenbo es incluso más completo que el aikido, ya que además de movimientos suaves y circulares para proyectar al adversario, también incluye en su repertorio los "atemis " lo cual viene a complementar lo "duro" con lo "suave ".

For demonstration purposes, moves are exaggerated, softened and slowed down. Great art to practice if you wish to learn a great way to defend yourself. sgt fitness, being like water is a state of mind, commonly known as adrenaline and endorphin rush, its about chemicals rushing to the body causing u to enter the spirit realm. blood is made of water, fire,earth and air, yet it is like water, fliud at times, dense at other times. thats why u can use even iron in the body to be has hard at metal but in a fliud way because we are organic and more flexible then other metals. anyways aiki is the japanese version of chi sao which is used in wusu and wing chun styles. its wonderful for countering.

  • @AznAlexT

    well actually. you can flip the guy in that way. it depends on how you use the technique. and how the attacker attacks.
    sometimes the attacker will do it... but most of the time they don't flip and will instead just drop in pain.
    in aikido if you force such a technique it usually won't work. harmony is key to aikido. foring technique will ultimately diconnect the aiki in aikido.

    I think what you are doing is a great idea - getting grounded in one art first. But I would like to say that - at least in kajukenbo - different teachers teach differently. It's like karate - you mayhave a teacher that teaches "way over your head" as you say - and others who try to break it down so you can get the concept - for example - a lock is a lock is a lock - whether it's a finger lock, wrist lock, leg log, etc.. - it's twisting the bone against the joint - try to understand the concept

  • @mickymorton7148
    @mickymorton7148 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    there are a couple of comments here. about nobody attacks like that with overhead attack..... aikido movements are taken from the open hand movements of the samurai sword ( katana ) known as kamae stance... no you wont find any attacker who will attack jodan ( face attack ) or chudan ( stomach attack ) with opened handed but you can still perform that same techniques as if it was a closed fist attack. read up about aikido before saying it's bullshit and rubbish you mite learn a thing or two +psychick99 - you studied aiki for 7 months you can't learn anything in just 7 months which art do you practice ?+ kevin TX there are two videos here showing tenshin aikido - and kajukenbo 1) aikido is tori - defender 2) kajukenbo is uke - attacker then roles are changed to give you an insight on how both systems work. that's how it works.... ? there is strikes in aikido it's that some schools out there don't teach this. they just focus on movement - and technique thanks for reading
