Here I am again! ...the best How To's are the simplest and well-explained, like this one. Incidentally, this simple procedure is listed on the Seat Service Schedule like it was some big deal....and....it's nowhere in the Handbook, implying that the car owner is not bright enough to do this...Seat; put-this-procedure-in-the-Handbook! Thanks.
THANK YOU! Your video helped me so much! I had this message with oil/service inspection for one 1 year and never knew how to rest it! Your information were so simple to be understood and very helpful!
Thanks for the video. In Denmark inspection service interval and oil change interval is the same. It is set to 2 years (730 days) or 30,000 km (18,700 miles.)
hi best video , i just wanna know i have problem due the gas in the oil can , when my fuel goes down near the 0 or low , the injector light turn off is there any way to reset this? i talking about the icon you have put in thumbnail of the video
To reset all other warning you will need to use an OBD reader that connects to you phone or a laptop. You will also need the software on the laptop or phone.
@@helpfulhappychappy thanks a lot, I ask because I have an inspection service due now and an oil change service in 80 days according to car, I’m going to reset the oil change service though as why would I change the oil that soon after, it’s stupid.
@@markfowlermusic Agreed. Yes the stealers.... I mean dealers! will have you back as many times as they can to keep the cash rolling in. Just as an example, a friend of mine bought a 2017 Seat Ateca last year which has 32,000 miles on the clock, 28,000 when purchased. She recently took it for a service and they told her that her timing belt needed replacing at the cost of £1000! The service manager told her that the timing belts on new cars need changing every 3 years or 25000 miles, which ever comes first so she is lucky as it could void her warranty. I went back with her and they told me the same thing. I then went on to explain they had sold her the car when it was in fact 4 years old and 28,000 miles, therefore 1 year and/3000 miles past both trigger points and that is say in their small print for the sale of second hand vehicles that they will ensure that ANY required servicing of ANY kind will be completed as required by the manufacturer before they sell it. This, I said, means you need to do this for free as it should have been done before you sold it to my friend...... We are now waiting to see what the manufacturer says as he "believes" he may be mistaken on the frequency the timing belt needs changing!!! Shocker!
@@helpfulhappychappy yeah they just want to get rid of the cars and any issues, it’s all about keeping hidden issues hidden so they don’t have to deal with them, they can just be transferred easily to someone else without the knowledge. A grand is a shocking amount to pay and really disgusting of the dealer who sold that. I think my seat Leon is a cam chain so don’t think I need to worry about changing it anytime.
@@markfowlermusic The truth of the matter is that, on a seat Leon, the cam belt is recommended to be changed at 10 years or 100,000 miles. I felt like this was a long time so did mine at 80,000. None the less, 25,000 miles or 3 years is ridiculous and an outright lie, hence me spinning it back to them and then now changing their mind. And as you also said, £1000 is a fair price, for a dealer, but it usually includes changing the water pump at the same time as it's not many miles later that they recommend changing that and you have to change your timing belt again to get to it!! As a rule, an average price for a timing belt with accompanying water pump change, is £600 - £700. But obviously needs doing once every 8 years or so.
When I went to the VW garage beside where I work 'the galmourous service advisor' explained if I wanted my Leon serviced, they wouldnt be able to turn off the service light. I almost laughed, did me a favour and I went to a different garage.
Hey, Seat Leon 2016 Is there a way to get rid of message after turning ignition on “service in 299 days?” After service days and kilometers reset it’s still showing up. Thank you very much!
If you watch the whole video is shows how to reset the oil change warning & Inspection service warning, which are 2 separate things. If you reset both it will display as shown at the end of the video. Hope that helps 👍
@@helpfulhappychappy I did both, oil change warning and service warning. It’s my costumer’s car - didn’t see this problem before. I tried to check it thru diagnostic but can’t find any help. I just don’t understand why it’s showing “Service in XXX days”, like this Leon in 299 days - you don’t want to look at this everyday after turning key on 🤣 I’ll try it again, thanks for reply!
You need to replace the battery in the key. You need to get a good quality brand, Duracel or Energizer CR2025. You can't reset this message by doing anything in the car.
There are 2 separate warning. Oil change and service inspection. If you clear one the second will still appear until you clear that too. Check the infotainment system as shown to see which one it is and then try to reset both. That should clear both warning and rest the milage.
@@helpfulhappychappy thanks, amazing how they drag you to service because they are only one who can do it and you have to go for overprized service :D just wonder if they can complain if it will be "deleted" before coming
@@supermanjekar No, they won't see that you did it. All it does is reset the service mileage rather than the irritation message keep popping up. I obvious reckomend that you do change the oil and service your vehicle when you reset the warning however.
Hold the "0.0/Set" buttons with no key. Pop key in turn ignition on and keep holding the button. This should cycle through to reset options. 1.Reset Oil Change Service? 2.Reset Inspection Service - Are you sure? Just remember to keep the "0.0/Set" button pushed in until it cycles to the one you wish to reset. When it gets to the one you wish to reset, let go of the "0.0/Set" button and push it again which will show a message "Service Reset". This confirms each item has been reset. This has to be done for each item, doing one will not reset both. You can then check this on your infotainment system via the method also shown in the video. Hope this helps 😊

Ian Bradshaw what vehicle do you have as this works on Mk 3 Seat Leon and Mk 7 VW Golf. You just need to make sure the ignition is completely off and you push the button before you turn the ignition on.
HelpfulHappyChappy it's a 2013 Mk 3 Leon 1.6 Diesel. I'm sure I had the ignition completely switched off but will give it another go. Thanks for replying
Thank you, having watched about 5 version s of this for the service interval, great instructions where the others failed. Thank you
