Brothers and sisters - Al Brooks says 'trade small' in a lot of his content. If you feel it looks good, not 'think' it looks good, take the trade. I am not a profitable trader yet but that is one of the things keeping me break even. When your mind and your whole body feels it 'just buy or sell the market' like Al says. There are not that many times that happens. When it does, act on it. There will be times when it doesn't work out. They will be few and far between. Like you all and Al know you are dealing with 70% almost in those situations. I have to tell you the first time I knew that concept and bought it was actually the 30% time and I lost huge. I now use stops as mentioned in previous podcasts w Al like a scalp below a bear or a bull bar. The truth is I use a 3 point stop. But sometimes I will buy or sell right away when it gets hit if I like the context. Always at minimum 2 to 1 profit ratio. However as I have that previously mentioned if you are 'feeling' something , probably best to get out or reverse regardless. I would say get in touch with your body just as much as your mind for signals. I'm not afraid because I trade small. I am just trying to figure this out.

I believe you are the only one on YT that explains trades from Al's point if view and you do a great job. Can be bit tricky to understand what Al means sometimes and you do a great job explaining and summering. I believe by explaining and teaching you understand even better and become a better trader. Keep up the great work.

As a scalper I started become profitable once I abandon the false notion of "dont chase the price" or "buy low sell high" the institutions likes this kind of idea because it give them the edge to demolish retail traders like us who likes betting against a aggressive rally or selloff.
I used to wait for pullbacks that never comes or get trapped in a reversal that I mistaken as a pullback. If you can't beat the big institutions then JOIN THEM is now is my motto in trading.

Awsome video! I remember talking to you about this at the after hrs lounge at the Orlando Workshop. Typically after a strong breakout I like to adjust my stop 1tick below a strong bull bar. After learning (and still learning/studying) Al's Work....i also find myself going with the hybrid approach. Its based heavily on context and what the market is doing. I find that selling into the 3rd push or into some round whole number has gotten me a good bulk of the move.
Love your progress. Keep up the great work brother. Hope to catch up with you soon!

The first breakout was indeed climatic but you also must consider pressure bar and context. The real problem is fear and being afraid of loosing. You'll never be certain enough to enter a trade, never ever, so being unconfortable in a trade is always a rule to be followed (if it's unconfortable probably is the right thing to do, remember). You must feel confortable with uncertainty and even celebrate it during a trade. In the end, the mental part is far, far more important than technical analysis.

I like watching your videos. We all get to share in the experience. In Al's book on Trends, he says "Every trend bar is a climax or part of of a climax, and the climax ends with the first pause bar.' Right before that he says ' ... traders often incorrectly use the term climax as synonymous with reversal.' Bar 10 and 11 I could see as a climactic reversal (a trend bar followed by another trend bar reversing the previous move) and since every trend bar is a bo bar then the breakout began at 11 and the climax saw a pause at 13 with the doji. It then continued the strong trend w/ a new bo from the tr which is also the doji up. the bo is a single trend bar or a group of trend bars. I am working on looking at one timeframe and seeing multiple timeframes. Im looking at AAPL now and at bar 13 was the climactic reversal with a bull trend bar that paused immediately after the bo, formed a small flag (flag is a bo and a tr) then broke out with a strong trend bull bar then paused, then went againfor six more bars. the points im paying attention to I call decision points. the decision points are ma, s/r, mtr, etc. yours began at the resistance. bar 1, 2, 4, 8, 9,10 and 11 was repelled by it before advancing in the opposite direction. Bar 77 and 78 seemed to be held by it as well. Al says that support and resistance moves the markets. buying with a stop above 12 would have been awesome. Above 12 seems to be north of the ma and right after a good signal... a double boom. it' s a lot harder to pull the trigger when the market is moving though. Remember your interview with the guy about the decision trees, the s/r is a decision point and the iio seem like the market was making a decision at a decision point (this comment references chart 3/16/23).

Very good discussion. I am a full time scalper with 4-5 years of experience and mostly trade in Index options. I use the inside bar pattern to enter in a very strong BO trade. Al brooks is 100% correct that most retail traders just wait for a pullback and the pullback never comes. I mostly trade pullbacks. Never been comfortable with breakouts in such a manipulated market.

I've got 10 years in using Brooks methodology and these type of days I still still struggle with. They are very frustrating watching price go up and up and up and the entries just don't seem good enough,,,but in this case they are! Its hard for me to override my mind which is telling me its not good enough or just seems extra "risky". I usually realize about lunchtime that its one of these days and I shut down thinking the next day will be more to my liking. I love trading range days.

You only need 2 consecutive big bull bars or 3 cc normal sized bull bars closing near their highs ie in the upper 25%
That should be good for at least a scalp

  • @tomstevens7452
    @tomstevens7452 ปีที่แล้ว

The 2/7/23 chart is a climax top which then becomes a micro double top. You can short on the 3rd consecutive bear bar closing at its bottom as the trend have likely reversed. We then for a double bottom at 4100 and you have a long trade again at the bar at its top of 4125. Al looks for DT/DB for reversals quite often

  • @wolfie8012

Eye opening stuff. I experienced the 'exit the size of a scalp' concept yesterday buying during a strong bear trend (will I ever learn? lol). I just went back to the chart and realized bulls were not able to make a 10 pip scalp (Forex minimum) during the entire trend. At one point there was a 10 pip rally but you would need 1 more pip in order to get filled! Bears with their stops 'the size of a scalp' up would not have gotten stopped out. Amazing! Thank you!!

    • @10000trades

But Like you I have trading rules that I try to abide by, and on days like this I beat myself up. I try to wait for a retracement for a good entry but it just takes off even more lol…I really appreciate your feedback. This helps me out a lot! I'm thinking of adding something like if the trend looks exceptional and higher time frame context is good, buy at the market and exit only if we flip always in direction. That will give me permission to get long on these types of days. Though knowing my luck, the first time I do it will slip to AIS on the next bar haha

1:25 not climatic - every bull bar is a trend, gap and climax but for this to be climatic it has to be late in a bull trend. This is a breakout, bars closing on their high, height of bars growing, no tails on top. Even if you buy at bar 17 you can expect a second leg up.

I've seen your channel, dude u've taken so many trades. You overanalyze, you try to analyse like al but you must understand you cannot use all the concepts of al's price action on every bar. You have to know and understand the concepts and then develop your own intuition. You almost seem to do this ritual where you start talking like al during trading almost as if summoning his spirit.
Please understand what al brooks is trying to do, he is not trying to give rules instead he is just trying to take you to logical conclusion that anyone who does observe lots of price action would eventually reach on their own even if they don't speak same terminology. He is shortening your runway, learning curve, time. Study him, do post market analysis but during trading forget everything and do what comes to mind.
