I’d like to give my apologies for the mix up with the dates for the closure of the raffle. I’m quite dyslexic so often mix up dates. Sorry for any confusion.
First time here. I really respect anyone who resists the temptation to buy and, instead, decides to make their own playable gaming terrain. Keep up the good work
New to the channel, but I like your style! I like that you didn't spend the whole video telling every little step. This was a great guide and less of a tutorial! Keep it up mate!
My first time here also ,fantastic build, wish I had the confidence to scratch build. I just started the miniature journey during lockdown but prices have gone ridiculous lately way too expensive for an old age pensioner like myself .I was just buying kits and attempting dioramas mainly fantasy and historical .Keep up the good work and I would love to see your painting methods for stone ,wood etc stay safe all,Eugene
Thank you Eugene 😊 it’s an expensive hobby to shore, ive found with scratch builds the best bit is just going off and doing you own thing. And saving a bit of money is always a plus 😊
Nice build man!! Always good to see another builder and see how much of the techniques are the same and yet everybody does things differently. Good luck with your future builds!!
Hey! Is there a tutorial for how you did your hexagonal columns? I have the shifting lands shape cutter but it makes hexagons much larger than this even at the smallest setting.
I’m afraid I didn’t get it on film, I use a very cheap hot wire cutting table and had to concentrate on the cutting. If you go with the same all size as this build 1cm and you want all sides of the pillars to be the same width. The pillers will have to be 2.5 x 2.5cm. I then cut to corners putter the wire at a 45 degree angle. A lot of the cuts are well off, but once it’s clued and textured you wouldn’t notice. Hope that’s helps Nick 😊
Cool build. I rather use a ball point pen to score the foam : it makes a deeper indent and you don't have to come back with the ruler. Nice trick with the dried paint for texture... I always lose the stone I usually use. Love the design.
At 40 seconds into the video it is mentioned that on October 30th he will draw a lucky commenter/subscriber to get the beautiful artwork shown at the beginning. It is now October 23 and the possibility to join the raffle is already closed on the 21st. Looking to the date of the post, it's 2021 not 2020 so entering the raffle should still be possible.
Just came across your channel. Very nice work. Where did you manage to find blue foam? I've only been able to find the grey stuff in the UK, and I agree with you that the low density texture can be a real pain.
Lovely build. Great to see creative licence being used. That’s what makes our builds ours. Not carbon copies 😀 Will check your other vids. But, could I ask, how you made the hex columns? Proxon or cutting?
Cheers James, hope the rest of the channel peaks your interest. I used a cheap hot wire cutter at 45 degree angle and tried to keep each side 1cm. Total pain without a proxon
Sorry dude, I used my rather cheep hot wire cutter. I worked out the width it needed to be for 1cm walls, 3cm and then cut them at a 45 angel. Hope it helps
the entry's for the terrain give away is now closed! congratulations to the winner and thanks to everyone for the wonderful feedback and engagement. let me know if you have any ideas for more terrain give aways in future?

Cheers matey, I think there’s enough channels out their who are better at the instructional side than me 😊
Awesome build! I love when people build and create terrain pieces instead of buying ready made.
Cheers Jon 😊 if you there’s other scratch builds you’d like like to see on the channel just give us a shout
Great build 👍 great to see you building this cheaper than the bought version .
Only just found your channel and gotta say thank you to the algorithm. Loving what I see so far, keep it up.
I’ve been giving the TH-cam machine spirit many prayers, sounds like it’s working 😉
Clever use of the dried up paint for texture!
Cheers Andy, wall filler is now one of my hoppy essentials 😂
I agree whit you about terrain, making is the best option
You have given to me some excelent ideas. Thanks a lot for sharing your project

Found this channel through the algorithm, great tutorial looking forward to what else you do.
Praise be to the algorithm 😉
As a Newbie myself building my own is more realistic. Great job You make it look easier than it is lol. Keep it up
Cheers matey 😊
It's really exciting to see all the amazing stuff you can make for TTRPGs without having to ruin yourself !
Beautiful work. My compliments. Your stuff makes a potentially very impressive table.
Cheers Myrrden, if only I had enough space for a full table
thanks for the video, im just starting a LOTR army, really love you're stuff thanks again!
Nice build man!! Always good to see another builder and see how much of the techniques are the same and yet everybody does things differently. Good luck with your future builds!!
One of the joys, so much of the Fundamental techniques are the same, but everyone has their own style
Great video! Always enjoy adding to my miniature terrain building arsenal.
What a nice build enjoyed how you pit together giving me lots of ideas. Thanks nice vid.
Cheers Paul 😊
Beautiful and Amazing scenery, thanks for your tutorial and i will try to do the same if I can...
What a great video! I know i will be giving this a go instead of buying a kit. A painting video would be awesome if you have the time....
I’m going to look at doing some more videos with more attention to the painting as well. This one ran over on the building process
Really nice piece, I enjoyed watching it come together. Would be fun to use in a game !
Fantastic work bro. I love all the little techniques you used to bring it to life!
Thank you Zachary 😊
Nice build, and nice channel, subbed👍
very good job!!
you should make a tutorial of the rusty painting
I especially love the paint job, well done!
Cheers matey 😊
Incredible work, have to make some of my own soon. Don’t worry about the dates, it happens to everyone
Cheers matey, joys of dyslexic organisation 😭
You talked me into it. Lol. Thats an awesome build.
Absolutely stunning im definitely going to have a go at building my own ! Cheers Phil
Cheers Philip, great stuff love seeing more scratch builds 😊
Really nice way to expand on the kit to make a unique layout. Will have to give it a go 👍
I’m half tempted to have another go now I’ve seen more of the GW kit, it’s really nice but scratch building can really stretch what you can do with it
Just found your channel looks like your gonna do some fun things cant wait to see more
Thank you Rev, might have a few weird and wonderfull things up my sleeve 😉
Great build, good possibility on a variety of tabletop games
Cheer Robert 😊 I added few embellishments, but the joy of XPF you can do almost anything with it
Keep up the good work my friend. This would sit well in any dungeons and dragons campaign.
Awesome work! I don't have any terrain yet and this style would suit my army really well; thanks for the video!
Cheers will 😊 a lot of the techniques can be used for any style of building really, hope I see what you come up with.
I think it will compliment the official kit really well as a centrepiece, great tutorial!
Cheers Jay 😊
I'm ordering the GW because I don't have time to build from scratch. Nice build
Cheers matey
Awesome build and great tutorial . The ruin aspect turns out very well . Congrats from a new subscriber .
I would love to see how you made your columns.
I used a hot wire cutter at a 45 degree angle and tried to keep each side 1cm wide. A pit of a pain without a proxon 😉
Looks great! Should work great with or as a addition to the plastic kit
Cheers matey 😊
Loving the contents mate don't stop the grind !!!!!!
Cheers matey, the channel is still pretty young. Just hope o can still keep the ideas coming 😊
Just discovered your channel. This is a cool build man. Love it 👍.

I’ve used ball points before and big bit of volcanic rock for texturing but fancied changing up my techniques this time. Thanks matey 😊

I get mine from eBay, can be a bit of a lottery as to the density. Managed to find some pink on eBay too
@@murraysminis9390 Cheers. I'll keep an eye out for it.
Moment left! Amazing video!

Dol Guldur arrived today and it is fantastic.
@@OMChops glad it got there safe matey 😀
Looks awesome! What method did you use to cut the main columns?
I used a cheap hot wire cutting table, l you could do the same with a knife but it would be delicate work

Thank you very much 😊
