JYP is truly one of a kind. Not only is he the CEO of JYP Entertainment, one of Korea's top three entertainment companies, but he's also a composer, a singer, a dancer, and he makes a video to teach his admirers his teqnique for creating music. Honestly, where do you find a person like that?
Totally agree with you!!! Among his trainees, at least three teams won the artist of the year awards in Korea. god, Rain, and Wonder girls (of course all of their greatest hit songs are composed by him) And he is absolutely humble man. Amazingly unique and mysterious person :)
he makes it look so easy but that was a demonstration of years of repetition and studying musical structures. he has simplified the process and found his "sound" so I have to agree with everyone that he really is a genius. having spent time learning and doing what he does I can tell you that much of the timing he demonstrated with keeping each instruments track on beat comes natural for someone like him while others struggle with adding the various layers while retaining a rhythm on beat. the technique can be taught and learned but not everyone can do it and usually those with a natural hidden talent just require someone experienced to cultivate it in order for it to be discovered and grow... which is precisely the point behind why JYP made this video - he did just that knowing someone will benefit from this video, take it, and run with it.
I've had music teachers in the past who were great musicians but rubbish at explaining music theory or the guitar. Having a musician who is good at both things like J . Y Park is a really impressive thing.

I just found this out. I'm trying to learn music production on my own too. I'm also heavily influenced with soul & rnb. Watching this made me realize that I make music that fits JYP style. 😬😄 when I get alot better in making beats I hope I could work as a music producer in JYP.
