Hey! I'm thinking about moving to Bend, but I'm not a homeowner, so I'll be renting. What's the situation with apartment/houses rentals in Bend? I'm interested in 1-2B apartment preferably with central AC/Heating since I work from home and it's important for me to have a good micro-climate inside the house. Are there any options like that in Bend? And if so, how much would it cost? Also are the utilities that landlord pays typically include heating in winter time or is it something that you need to take into account when renting apartment/house in Bend? Would be IDEAL if you could make a separate video about apt./house rental market specifically, especially interested how drastically rent prices and demand/availability change based on the seasons. 2 bed is likely going to run you $1400/mo. Probably no AC but even on hot days in the summer it cools off into the 50s at night. Demand has been less than 1% for years and the rents are rising (and have been) recently. They have more than doubled in the last 10 years and you’ll likely see a $100+ increase annually. Bend a great place to live but there if you make less than $70k a year it’s a struggle financially.
Apartments are a rip off here very hard to get into and very very expensive mid 1,000s for a 2 bedroom in the ghetto. People are also in a huge hurry and rude around here.

I’ve been itching to move somewhere that’ll give me the best of both worlds of living in an outdoorsy town like Vail but minus the semi remote location but wasn’t sure where. I think you’re selling me on Bend, and housing prices look great! Do you think I could get away without having a vehicle for at least half a year? And I’d love to hear more about the hospitality industry!

You left out skydiving, and the street racing. Bend is home to me i know tons of people there i can't walk into a single place with out somebody asking me if I'm back home. I am well known over there. I made my reputation growing up there for my house parties and street racing.

I just visited New zealand from portland. You should look into a working holiday visa that's how I was able to stay and work in new zealand

I found Bend to be overrated and enjoyed Portland much more, but that's just my experience
