    The EVO SL is such an Amazing shoe. One of my favorite trainers of all time - bare in mind that I have both the Superblast 1/2. Its such a fun and easy shoe to do most of your runs. I like it even more than the Adidas Pro 4 which is a big surprise for me.
    I did a 33km run today - 4:44 pace and they felt just amazing, I was able to lock in a pace and just hold it easily, with a relatively low HR.
    So if you guys can get a pair I totally recommend it. Its also a true to size and fairly wide model for Adidas as well.

    The outsole is made from PU (polyurethane) rather than rubber (apart from the Conti rubber portion). It’s more durable than rubber and is lighter too allowing for full coverage.

    absoluely will get the shoes. I am so excited to get some competition for the Takumi Sen8 on my shorter time trials. In a world of super high stacked cushioned shoes this one is like a key into freedome.....just excited and almost willing to pay full price

    Good you got these. I have done a few runs in them and feel like a slipper and certainly like an old school flat but the modern foam felt you could get away with running in them more than those flats of past years. Did think would be ideal for firmish trails and that is what I used to use the Adios 1 (not the Pro one) in the past. Just got the Evo SL (better luck in the draw LOL). Feel bit like a beefed up Adios 9 but still felt light at about 303g for us.

    Have to give it to Adidas👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 They absolutely nailed the super minimalst design on these latest shoes (plain white and 3 black stripes) from Evo 1, Pro 4, Evo SL and now these Adios 9.🔥🔥🔥🔥

    The outsole is Adidas' Lightraxion and they believe it's more durable and lighter than Continental. It's on the heel of the Evo SL and as a heel striker I can say it is way more durable than Continental rubber - my Boston 12s were purchased at the same time and and the outsole has worn through much quicker (typical for me).

    Sorry, this is a bit of a tangent, but have you tried or considered trying the Adidas Supernova Prima (daily trainer)? The Rise is a bit meh, but the Prima, my word! It surprised me a lot. Was not expecting to like it that much. I think it could be a Novablast 5 competitor for you. Novablast will have a bigger initial wow factor for sure. However, the Supernova Prima might have an edge on the durability factor. I surmise that for you, the pop might stick with you past the 200 miles, but perhaps you just have a bit less of it to get there compared to the Novablast. It terms of versatility, I think it’s on par with Novablast. Higher durability. However, it is a heavier than the Novablast. For me it’s not superior to the Novablast, because I haven’t had the loss of pop yet, but perhaps for you the trade off might be worth it. The other thing is the outsole on the Prima. It’s absolutely amazing. It’s better compound than the Rise, which is already pretty good. IMO, the Prima is a bit of a sleeper daily trainer. People try the rise and write off the Supernova lineup. Prima is far superior, imo.
    I guess since we’re looking at an adidas shoe now and because the Novablast 200mi video is so fresh, I thought of the Prima.

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      That sounds like a good shoe! It’s not one that’s honeslty been on my radar but I might have a little look later!

    • @Paulo-ze1tl
      @Paulo-ze1tl 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @ yeah, it wasn’t on my radar either. I thought it would be a bit too standard daily trainer, but it really surprised me once I tried it. A daily trainer with a bit more of pep to it, a bit more joy. Despite the extra weight relative to the Novablast, I think the Prima is a little bit better a picking up the pace. It’s not going to be an endorphin speed, though. It’s somewhere in between the Novablast 5 and the Superblast 2, imo. The midsole foam is PEBA, just that it is a different durometer/formulation relative to the lightstrike.

    Hate to say it because of the way adidas have released the Evo sl it has been terrible
    But if you can get hold of it ,it’s brilliant and everything you could want from a shoe
    Think it’s perfect all rounder
    I’d still race with a carbon shoe but if I couldn’t it would even be my pick for that

    I am excited about this. Streakfly was wow, but man, it was falling apart at 40km. I had to superglue and stitch not once but twice the streakfy to ensure it is now at 270km. Streakfly is my #1 worst durable shoe. I am currently using hyperion tempo og and still going okay now at 700km. Hope to get my hands on the Adios9.

    Is it protecting enough for your feet, looking at this for track workouts (I'm not much of a long distance runner "hybrid" training, play a couple of sports, so i do 400/800m repeats once a week as part of training)

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  7 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would honestly think that this would shine on a track… the 1 min reps in them were brilliant… at this early stage I’d probably consider taking them up to 3/4/5 min reps max… having said that, my total run in them was over 8 miles!

    Would love to know how it feels for steady running. I use my Adios 8 as daily shoes, as I like lower stack/firmer shoes. Often run to/from my workouts and find shoes like the Takumi feel so odd at slower paces. Would def like to know more about the Takumi, as I've only just got the 10! 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Dude that is so true. Adidas and their sizing team need to have a talk. Whoever does the measurments has some form of impariment :D I tested the EVO 1 during the berlin marathon and it was a 40 2/3. Fit incredible. half a thumb of space.
    So thought Hm, okay. Adios pro 4 in 40 2/3 will be fine. BUT NOOOOOO. noooo. way too long. Then i saw a adios pro 3 for 150, and went "well EU40 it is"...*sigh* lemme tell you.. its a thumb i have in there.. Not a big deal per se...i am using it now for training. I dont care. But how can you have 3 different shoes and 3 different lengths??! like literal half sizes of difference...
