Fun little fact I wish would have been covered by this, but Trigun also gave us the gift of Johnny Yong Bosch's voice over career.
Just that moment of Vash and Knives holding their guns to each others eyes builds up the tension between the characters because either one could decide to shoot and end it all right then and there. And it also shows in a way that Knives still does not want to kill Vash. It is just a perfect PERFECT moment.

The single greatest moment in Trigun, to me, was Vash stripping down and barking like a dog when a man taking a hostage demanded he do it. That's just how committed the guy was to avoiding violence, despite his skill with a gun.

The problem with the Big O was that it worked so well as an episodic show, but when it came to an ongoing plot it just couldn't put it together as well.
I need to rewatch Trigun for the umpteenth time
The Big O to this day is still one of my very favorite anime series around. The story is great and deep and there is plenty of plot to carry the story along. So......did it finally end the way it was supposed to, or did it allude to a possibility of more which never came to be? Either way, I loved how it finally wrapped up season 2.
Can we please call the Big O what it really is?

I have to thank Bennett for his Trigun recommendation. I had never had an interest in it, because the main character from all the previews I’d seen looked like this distant angsty anime protagonist. Boy was I wrong! Trigun is now one of my favorite shows, with Vash being one of my favorite protagonists. Thanks for showing me this oldie!
The movie Trigun: Badlands Rumble, was one of those times that delivers on every level for fans of the anime. It showed Vash's beliefs in a nutshell, kept true to all the original characters, had interesting new characters, and had so many funny moments you can't help but watch them over and over again (Vash screaming out his name in a bar full of bounty hunters is a personal favorite). And even though I saw all the plot twists coming, they were well executed and supported by great dialogue. The increased budget also allowed for more details in the art and style, making the world of Trigun beautiful to watch, especially scenes of the night sky.
The single best thing for me regarding Trigun - Vash was as much of a pacifist as he possibly could be, to the point that he stripped down to his undies and barked like a dog to placate a villain and get a hostage released rather than pulling his gun and shooting the bastard.
Big O's ending didn't piss me off. It was confusing sure but once you realize what's going on the ending is actually pretty satisfying.

I LOVED Trigun, still do. Even though I've never read the manga I still enjoy the anime AND movie. Glad to see someone else who loves it as much. I saw another reveiwer on TH-cam who thought it was crap, never watched his stuff again.
