Trust me, I don’t usually comment, but this might be the first video that struck me in an inspiring way. I’ve always loved capturing moments and documenting what I see. I’m trying to make a living from photography, but I felt overwhelmed by the pressure to fit into that commercial, technical vibe. When I heard your way of explaining your thought process behind every captured scene, I thought, “That’s it! That’s what I aspire to do.” You put into words what I’ve struggled to define as my style. I’ll keep up with your content, dude! There’s not a lot of this out there, so I’m really glad I found your channel.
Thank you for the walk-through Spencer, great to hear about the whole thought process when you made the series. Wanted to check with you on your choice of focal length as well, since there's the transition from outdoors to indoors, and a good mix of contextual background shots and detail shots of the people and of the food?
Thanks man! I’m pretty sure I had the sigma 18-50 for this shoot… great versatile lens that I needed for video content more than anything. I now prefer shooting on the TTArtisan 27mm!
@Spencer Scott Pugh Photos Ah OK! I'm travelling to Croatia and Frankfurt end of the month and was intending to use the 27mm pancake. Shall try it too, thank you!
I do exactly this for work. I love it. Documenting those moments bring out so much happiness in me. I didn’t think I’d find something like this on TH-cam but here we are. Great work!
Thanks, Nita! I couldn't agree more. The process is so fluid and enjoyable. Just a chronological documentation of the experience. My favorite way to photograph the world!
I am looking into switching over to this type of photography work. Can you give any suggestions on how to start and explain the process you took to get into get paid to do this kind of photography?
Ah, This is hobby work that I don’t get paid for. However, I used to! Just go to businesses and take photos for free until they see the value in your work, then strike up an agreement!
Keep it simple. It's easy to get too creative rather than telling the story of a place. Great shots. Can I ask. How do you price a job like that. I've got a gig but don't want to overcharge (or undercharge)?
I did a railroad shoot before and was told shortly after that it's illegal to hang out on train tracks 😂 Also locked my keys in my car about 45 minutes away from my apartment (in college) so that was a fun journey.
I love the idea of this video and your whole concept but I did find your photos a little uninspiring could I recommend taking 5 super solid images and maybe just talk about them rather than a whole journey with some weaker images. but I find your voice and presence really good for TH-cam and chilling while watching (im taking a break from editing with your video and its enjoyable)
Thanks Basil. I think I agree… just not sure if there is value in sharing less impressive images as well just to get the whole picture rather than all bangers. Some folks here seem to think there is 🤷♂️
This is so cool I hope you make this a series!
😁😁😁😁😁😉

How do you carry your camera with you to restaurants? Are you using a neck strap, wrist strap, or do you carry it in a small bag
Usually a wrist strap but more recently just a normal neck strap! No bag… gotta be ready 📸
