This is exactly what I need - an in-depth class on uses for subgroups and busses. I just dabble and only mix on channels for years. Works fine for weekend band stuff

Man, what a convoluted way, with presets and all, to do such an essential function :(

Hi erik! How can i setup a stereo buss compresor to behave as dual mono, not stereo?

This board at a glance looks nice but the more you look at it you start to notice its workflow is terrible, the lcd screen looks dated and so does the internal software and graphics. Im sure it sound great but even a experience sound person will have to get use to the overall workflow that does not seem to user friendly right out of the box.

I agree the workflow isn't my favorite especially navigating those 1/2 submenus when there's lots of parameters but an experienced sound person in 2022 will probably have used an M32 many times and gotten used to its quirks

How do you set-up subgroups on iPad m32 app? I'm using the m32c.

On the M32 Mix App you can either select the input channel, go to sends tab and then change the aux to group using the setting at the top of the send fader track or you can go to setup > config and edit the bus configuration for all 16 busses in there.

All I want to do is put my backing vocals in their own group and compress them separate from the lead vox! On my analog Midas I just push 1 button on each channel and they're there. There is nothing intuitive about the M32 (and the M32R is worse). Nothing makes sense - Learning it requires brute rote memorization and I gave up flash cards in 5th grade. If Music Tribe provided a detailed manual (they don't) or removed videos that are about old firmware versions (they don't) or produced a new set of instructional videos whenever the firmware changes (they don't), I might actually continue being a customer (I won't).

Okay, cool, but how do you send the subgroups to other busses, like effects or wedges?? By default it only allows you to send to matrices..help!

Wait, he said channel mixbus sends default to post-EQ pre-fader? Why would I want my FOH channel EQ affecting my monitor sends?

Fallen Star Features in the case you want your instruments equalised the same way in your monitors and your FOH and per say you’d eq the monitors separately if needed ? Just guessing

Ideally? If you have set speaker and room eq as normal, then there will be no (tone) colouration of a signal at that point. So what you call FoH channel eq is as natural for the instrument as possible.
      But...
If an instrument adds tonal colouration through feedback then monitor eq won't do the job since that would apply the corrective eq to all other instruments in that monitor.
      But...
If that's a significant issue isn't it likely that the gig will have a separate monitor desk and engineer.

My gosh! To much flipping back and forth. In live sound speed is super important. Imagine trying to guide some Volunteer over the phone or text it is not an easy task right out of the box.

so the max amount of sub groups you can do on this console is 8? and if they're all stereo.... 4?

    • @MidasOfficial
      @MidasOfficial  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi snapascrew, and thank you for the question.
You're able to have a total of 16 mono subgroups and 8 stereo subgroups on the M32. Hope this helps!
