@@layne4376yes but because of that same reason the reliability is best in class also. I’m sure Lexus Toyota is developing boosted v6 solutions as we speak but it absolutely must hit their build quality standards first. Also in a vacuum this car is still very quick all things considered.
@@alexturnqest6202 It really isn't quick in a vacuum. 6 seconds to 60 mph is about a car length and a half better than a Honda Odyssey. Let that sink in for a moment.
@ ok so in real world driving once you get under 5.5 seconds to 60 mph any car could be considered genuinely quick or sporty because that car simply just is quick. That’s like saying one car automatically slow just because the cars in the segment are a second to faster. The competition is faster because of boost yet id argue Lexus staying with N.A. engines is unique and just as fun. If you want more of an emphasis on raw performance out of your luxury sedan then just buy from any of the german brands instead. Just be sure to buy an extended warranty if you plan on keeping it for a couple of years :) *ditto if you want more performance with the reliability Lexus offers that’s why they sell the is500.
I just leased one of these. Got a great deal. It was a floor model the dealer wanted to get rid of. Paying $350/mo for 3 years with a 2018 Mercedes CLA as a trade-in. Comprehensive warranty, everything covered. Oil changes, alignments, paintwork, glass, rims and tires, et al. What really sold me on it was the smooth NA V6. I really, really hate turbos. It’s not as nimble as the Mercedes CLA I had previously or the new C class I tested, and has less storage space, even with the back seats down. That said, it’s a much nicer engine and more traditional power delivery. Straight-line acceleration is not exactly “sporty”. The German equivalents, even the slightly lower-priced ones, are significantly faster, especially on highways when you’re trying to pass people. Foot down in sport mode from 50mph, in my old CLA I’d be at 120mph by the time the IS gets to 80. They annoyingly didn’t fit the car with the 360 camera and you can’t have one installed by the dealer (has to be factory), and the indicator lever is really, really annoying. As are most of the little electric bits. It does have a mechanical gearbox which is great.
You dont need a full speeced is350 to compete with the acura meanwhile both interiors are outdated and speaking of tech they are on par there's nothing tech wise in the tlx that cant be found in the is350 @MRCARTER8880
Absolutely. The TLX Type S couldn't even compare to this in terms of power. It absolutely steamrolls it. Although I will say there are better options, like the Audi S4, but between Lexus and Acura, the latter its no match.
Yeap the bmw is faster with nicer interior . But in 5 years from now the Lexus will still hold value better with out issues, while the bmw with decrease in value while be in the shop a lot times and probably replacing new motor or transmission
I surprisingly lost to a Toyota rav4 v6 from a dig up to 90 mph!! How in the world is that possible since I have more horsepower and torque and I am lighter than the rav4. My IS350 is fast for sure and his rav4 does not have any modifications. Something is wrong somewhere!!

I bought mine in NJ and was told the 360 cameras are not available in that state. He forgot to mention how basic the car is. No automatic gas tank release, left and right turn signals are disgusting, no where to put your phone after you plug iinto the apple map, it only uses premium gas with a small tank you fill up more than 2 times a week. The rims cannot be repaired if scratched, very expensive. and finally the side mirrors do not retract automatically. Almost everything is manual. The worst buy I ever made.
