I'm glad you reviewed this and exposed the false advertisement. When I see "5k/60fps" I was like yeah right not together. There was a few more features I would like to know in a review like how long the battery life in different resolutions is. Pro cameras struggle with long battery life with high resolution. Also, it claimed to have image stabilization I would like to see that tested. Thank you for the review, great camera for beginners.
Thanks For the video. Nicely done. 2 Questions. 1) Battery life for the camera and microphone?? 2) SD card space I plan on doing live recordings of up to 3 hours. How long would a 256GB Card Last on default settings?
Uncertain on Battery life but I believe you have 2 batteries plus you can plug it in while using the camera (I believe) As for the SD card It can be anywhere from nearly six and a half hours to under an hour, depending on the bitrate used. For example, on 256GB, you can fit over 16 hours of 4K footage at a low bitrate of 35 Mbps or about one and a half hours of 4K footage recorded on a high-end camera at 400 Mbps. So it really depends on the capabilities of your camera and which settings you’re shooting with.
On "night vision" mode do you see with the naked eye any little glowing lights on the camera, meaning little bulbs that emit the infrared beam? Also, so camcorder has no zoom feature?
Thanks for your review I watched it on Amazon. Your review helped me make the decision to go ahead and buy it. I have a similar camera which worked great for 4 years for my TH-cam channel but just recently gave up the ghost.
Since it is classified as a vlogging camera it may do alright. I typically make videos like this one (only head and shoulders) I've never vlogged or had much movement in my videos so I can't answer your question with great accuracy.
Thanks for the review. Have you manage to switch off the text, date, (icons) while connected via the HDMI cable? I want to use mine for live streaming and it keeps the settings on the screen while connected on the HDMI to my computer. I do use a video capture card.
I would think you can... I actually use my Sony ZV1 or my Phone for all my videos. I've not used this camcorder so I cannot answer your question but I would assume that since it's a vlogging camera all that text will not show after you've set the parameters in the settings mode. You would choose timestamp on/off.
@@skinners100honestreviews3 I used the USB Cable and then you can use it as a webcam. I only bought this cheapy to use as an extra camcorder when I interview people. I have a Sony 4k F33 camcoder that is much better quality than this one, but the Sony is about 10x the price.
Hi, I hope this is not a stupid question. LO l, but can you download your video when you finish to your Android or iPhone? I can edit from my phone Is the reason why i Asked . Or where do you suggest I edit from thank you.
You would have to charge the battery while it is installed in the camcorder (unless you have an external battery charger) You can use a phone charger cable and connect it to the camcorder to charge the battery.
I'm not certain. I use a DSLR camera on a regular basis and when I want to record vertical I just tilt the camera in the certical position... I would assume it would be the same with this camera, simply rotate the camera from horizontal to vertical

good review but you dont show all the res video settings, we want to see them, how is the stabil? how well does the night vision work? seems like you are trying to sell it by not giving us this information.
It's an 8min video ... No intention to hide anything. I showed the basics of the camera. Night vision was shown in the video. Sorry you were not satisfied with he review, its a great camera, hopefully I've shown enough to peak your interest
@@skinners100honestreviews3 Whaddya mean it's an 8 minute video? Why couldn't you have made a 10-minute video? Or a 15-minute video? You in a hurry? It's a sales (affiliate link) video. You should give a proper rundown of the camera's features. How long does the battery last? You said the night vision is grey - is it grey on playback? What is the outdoor image quality like? You glossed over the fact that there's no zoom option. That's a SERIOUS drawback. As is the lack of a pause when recording button.
@@zakmartin Thanks for your input. It is valuable and helpful to both me (for future videos) and others that read these comments trying to decide if they want to make the purchase or not.
Looking at the video quality there's no way that that's 5K. That's insanely low resolution. I would argue that's about 1080 quality. So weird as well that it doesn't offer 1080 with 24FPS. I almost want to guess that this is a fancier low level sony version based on the resolutions offered. You could test that by checking the file when it's moved onto your computer as to whether or not it's 24 FPS or 29.97 FPS which I would guess it would be. It may even use 3:2 pulldown, which would mean that 60 FPS is actually 29.97 as well. However, it could be just low light issues on the sensor. You'd have to check outside, and there was no night vision footage. Was hoping to catch that old goofy Sony handcam nightvision. I almost forgot. While you're stable on your desk turn off image stabilization. It'll increase the quality of the video.
Really good observation. It was recorded in 1080p but has 5k capabilities. As for the FPS I would have to go have to go back and review that file... It was recorded months ago so I'll probably never find it lol. I do over 100 reviews a month so this one would be buried. Thanks for all your input it's great to have people try to help and offer suggestions rather than point all the faults you made. Take care and thanks again
