Finallyyyyyyy. I cried so much. I was a bit hormonal too but still 😅 I cried heavily when I watched this. It just hit my heart. She really knocked it out of the park
The cube is meant to represent society and how badly it treat anyone who is "different". In the MV IU is deaf while Tae is blind in one eye but since they love each other they don't see those flaws. When we see them through the camera's lens it shows how they see each other - beautiful, perfect and the world is full of life and color because they have that love. Even in the darkest moments having that one person by your side can make it bearable. The ending killed me when IU covers his one good eye and her angelic voice along with the storytelling makes this a real masterpiece and I want to see them in a kdrama together.
No that is wrong. This video and it message is ONE thing, Love. When people change the focus to a particular group they are turning this beautiful message into one of division, of victimhold, of revenge, none of which has anything to do with love. This claim is also devoid of any supporting evidence from the MV, from the lyrics, or from what IU has written about the song. Regarding the MV if the cubes are only targeting people who are "different", have a disability or are marginalized, then where is everyone one else? Where are anybody the items such people rely on such as wheelchairs, crutches, artificial limbs? There are none anywhere in the video. We also don't know when or how V lost his eyesight or IU lost her voice. The video itself suggest that injuries were the reason they lost eyesight and voice. Since the camcorder lens shows them when they were "ok". Which brings me to this point. Some disabled groups got upset with IU and V because they believed in this early theory. Why did they get upset, because they were offended that IU and V were acting so happy having been "cured" of their disability suggesting that those with disabilities can't be happy and are some how less. So making this about disabilities is actually doing the very thing, dividing people by normal and disabled, and when you do that the message is about the difference and pointing the finger at another group and making accusation etc. IU in the letter she posted on her company website she doesn't even mention or make any reference that could be remotely even considered to be anything like that. She talks about humanity. Not one group or another. But rather about people struggling to LOVE when the world gets in they way. This applies to everyone. It matters not one twit what the cubes are or aren't in the end it is not about the Cubes. It is totally and completely about the couple and their struggle to Love when the world gets in the way. How the world gets in the way is different for everyone and it can get into everyone's way. By making it about one group versus another and suggesting that Love is somehow different, only applies to people of a certain group or that the love people of a certain group is somehow different, better or only applies to that group is offensive. Just like the few radicals who claimed that Love Wins is a slogan that only the Gay community can use and heterosexuals use of this term would demean the term. What they were talking about had nothing to do with love. Andvthatbis a perfect example of what people who claim thus MV is about disabilities. How many times does IU have to say Love in her song before people will understand that she is talking about universal love.
So happy you posted this on youtube! But yeah this is such a masterpiece. Their on-screen chemistry was insane 😭 When this first came out, this was on repeat like for 3 days i think? 😅 And the three taps on the chest that IU did when they're about be devoured by the cube apparently means "i love you" in sign language so yeah, even more tears 😭
Yes, very beautiful and powerful!!! 🕯️🕯️🕯️ I have never cried so much in my life. 🥺🥺🥺 IU's voice is so angelic, I just pre ordered her new album... can't wait to get it!!! 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
"Why is it so much sadder the second time?". Well, I don't know, but I've been crying every time I watch the video, so I'm sorry to tell you it keeps getting worse, there's no point in trying to avoid the tears. And if the video wasn't sad enough, the song is so beautiful that you can't help but get emotional too. I really hope they get to act on a kdrama together, their chemistry is amazing.
If there's something you still don't understand, read this. The director of the "Love wins all" M/V, Eom Tae-hwa, has released an interpretation guide for the song. IU also shared her thoughts on the song with her fans. Together, they can be used to interpret the content of the M/V as follows. * Cube: oppression, discrimination * IU's lip piercing (speech impediment), V's crippled eye: shows the difficulty of communicating with the world * Camcorder: Filter of love (a very important device that allows the protagonists to see beyond their inner and outer selves to a whole and happy world) * Wedding dresses, tuxedos: represent the "fruits (results) of love. * People dressed in black: People who interrupt and heckle the main characters who are focusing on each other and having a happy time (can also be interpreted as IU's anti-fans) * Male protagonist (V): can be thought of simply as IU's lover. But at the same time, it can also be interpreted to mean IU's fans (she said that she is not afraid of the end of her singing career and wants to finish her singing career in style with her fans afterwards) In the final scene of the MV, after their physical bodies are destroyed by the cube, the wedding dresses and tuxedos worn by the main characters fall to the floor, symbolizing the social formality that we consider important and meaningful in real life, and suggesting that it is not the essence of life. This scene can be seen as the main characters being liberated from the oppression and discrimination they face from society. Director Eom Tae-hwa said that he welcomes various interpretations regardless of the M/V interpretation guide.
She was so sick during this whole thing. Recording session was painful to watch, but she is so funny and professional you would never know listening to the song!!
