Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but I get a good laugh when I hear people complain about Superman's lack of relatability while praising Batman in the same breath.
Although not always relatable, I like to view Batman as the embodiment of human determination and will. It's his willpower that pushed him to improve himself physically and mentally. And I think he is meant to show how much a determined person can achieve through hard work and dedication. I think most of us had faced situations, where we underestimated ourselves and our abilities in handling certain situations, only to miraculously pull through and be stronger and better people because of it. Even though we may never be as strong, smart and knowledgeable as Batman, just trying to match him can be enough to be better versions of ourselves.
This is spot on. Batman was originally intended to be a human detective vigilante dealing with crime infested Gotham. He does have very high willpower, intelligence, pain tolerance and reflexes but is never superhuman. I never even understood why Batman is called a superhero without superpowers. It all happened just because he became massively popular, making his entry in the Justice League financially necessary. So the JL Batman is now capable of getting thrown around by beings like Superman and Darkseid and come off without so much as a broken bone. The power scaling for this beloved character is stretched so much that he is now capable of being a god himself while somehow still being human. IMO Justice League totally ruined Batman. That's the beauty of Batman and Superman. Superman represents talent, as in, extraordinary skills come to him without effort. Sort of like how Salieri was jealous of Mozart (in the movie Amadeus).. Batman felt he was set on his path at a young age and he had ample resources to pave his way towards his end goal. To be physically, intellectually, and psychologically the bane of all that is unjust. He spent his life working towards that ideal.

Why doesn't anyone get this joke? For the idiots, let me explain. Batman won't die because he's BATMAN. He owns the most powerful weapon in all of comics. It's not his brains or any of his suits. It's called plot armour...The only person that can beat it is perhaps Alferd.
Allen Ding i mean the snap only kills half of the people in the universe so maybe Batman was one of the people in the lucky half
@@yanielcajigal2275 I'm pretty sure the user can use the the stones how they want
@@yanielcajigal2275 Well the infinity stone only works for the universe it's in, so batman would in fact not be harmed.
Awful cringe filled joke
"Wrong Batman. I purposefully injected your brain with a false image of myself just different enough that you would fail to connect me with him."
Hard work tends to beat talent. Batman is way cooler than Superman. Rule confirmed.
outsmarting is Batman's hobby, that makes him a great one
*10 times batman was batman*
Batman armed with proper knowledge, prep time, and a plan is essentially unbeatable
The main reason batman is so iconic and praised is because all of his virtues are the mere result of his hard work and discipline. Rest of the superheroes got their powers kinda in a platter. But batsy earned them the hard way...
Batman vs The One Who Laughs Batman nailed that almost perfectly.
Whenever my friends ask me how I get smart and wise, I don’t tell them I’m some god of wisdom or something. I tell them that I’m Batman.
This whole list is just Grant Morrison Batman moments
Yeah Grant Morrison (as well as Frank Miller) have made AMAZING Batman stories. They deserve so much love y'know?
"You can take me to jail bats, but you know who will visit me? My parents!"
Batman: "gaaaaaaaahh" *cries*
We both looked into the abyss but when it looked back. You blinked.
When batman outsmarted owlman. And owlman was like "damn, shoulda seen that coming"
imagine outsmarting yourself XD
perhaps when created a bat suit THAT LITERALLY MADE HIM GOD
How he played the Riddler in Hush was amazing..it was sooooo simple and so matter of fact lol
10 times? Bruhh Batman outsmarts people for a living
Batman has so much difficulty trusting people, so much that he doesn't even trust himself
Amazing how many of those moments were from Morrison! The man's a beast writing Batman, Superman and the JLA.
tower of babel he out smarted everyone except ra's alghul
It's Rā's Al Ghūl
@@preposteroustoast thanks for the correcting

I can hear Conroy humming in the tumbnail
I was binging Batman the whole day and then I see this thank you 😂
Alfred it’s time to fly. This channel needs promoting 🦇
5:19
"Need any help?"
"He fell."
lmao
how bout in court of owls when batman escapes from the labyrinth
I think that one was more survival than actually outsmarting anyone. I still don't know how Batman while starved, dehydrated, and drugged, with a gaping hole in his chest managed to swim through sewer water and survive without getting infected to hell and back.
The time when superman found out batman's identity so batman managed to find out superman's identity the same day, steal his girlfriend, buy Daily Planet which meant superman was his employee. That was a pretty batman thing to do
When he figured the cure for making good DCEU films.
So he figured out how to make bad DCEU movies? Finding a cure means to stop something from doing what it's supposed to.
Easy the DCEU should have started with the Dark Knight Trilogy. Except for the occasional other DC movie all others were terrible.
Kyle James referring to Shazam
@@thisjustincomics Batman was the best part of that movie.
WhoDarestheMAN gamer True
The fact that this is exactly 10 minutes makes me happy
Grant Morrison just crushed it every time he touched Batman. Awesome video, Ewan!
The Batman who laughs is almost THE example
The thing is Batman's backup for if he needs to be put down which is the juctise league.... The issue is he has plans for each of the members
The fact that he has no super power actually make Batman the most badass character in the DC universe.
When fighting batman NEVER UNDERESTIMATE him or you will lose
Don't give new enemies tips
But its almost as dangerous to overestimate him.
When fighting Batman.....you will lose.
#2 made me laugh for like 5 minutes bc it’s literally so Batman 😂
Thank you for this
That was good content of the DCAU
Batman out smarts everyone
John Constantine- am I a joke to you?
Just Imagine Batman being the president that would awesome 😎
He could. Bruce could.
I always found it odd that he never solved the case of the real Holiday Killer.
@Shubham Adhikari Plus possibly several killers. It wasn't easy case especially if murders stop and Bruce has ton of other shit to deal with.
The Long Halloween was BY FAR my favorite Batman story ever... And I've read thousands of Batman comics and graphic novels. This story needs to be made into an animated movie with absolutely NO steering off from the initial source material. The epilogue when it reveals who was the first Holiday Killer was jawdropping. Especially when you're sitting there realizing that Batman failed to catch the original Holiday Killer and had no clue that he failed. It was shocking.
There are 3 killers; Alberto Falcone, Harvey Dent and his wife.
Batman never deduced the joker's real identity either.
@@shaunsmith7928 actually in the death of the family storyline he reveals to joker that during the time joker was gone, batman figured out everything about him including his name.
Batman is so dangerous when Darkseid wanted to destroy him, he instead had to keep Batman in the mobius chair to keep Batman from planning on destroying him.
Great video as always, keep up the great work
Love how most of these are Morrison stories.
When you hear Batman casually say “So I heard you voted for the glow squid” start writing your will
If you voted for the glow squid, you deserve it
In conclusion, Batman is awesome, period
Me: "It's pronounced Baybel."
Ewan: "I lived in New York. I know how to say babble."
One of my favorite outsmarted moments came from the animated series when The Riddler thought he'd created the perfect trap and Batman died in it. When Batman showed up later, Riddler was desperate to know how he escaped. He offered up information on his plot in exchange for the answer, but Batman refused to tell him, sending him back to Arkham in a hysterical fit.
7:30 in the comics he got kicked out, in the AU he left like a badass.
Fighting Stephen hawking is almost easy? That sounds really easy.
You don’t know what that chair can do
So... could the Dark Knight beat Captain America?
batsy beat him once in the dc/marvel 1996 crossover. Batman is by far my favourite character ever, cap is my favourite marvel character.
Hello from France. I love BATMAN.He's my favourite character too. But I don't like CAPTAIN AMERICA....
Batman though smart strong and his technical advancements captain America is a super soldier and has those and more with his healing ability and slowed age so in my opinion probably captain America
Death Battle of Screw Attack tried to calculate who would actually win. They figure Batman would win against Captain America more often than not.
@@Dragonpit Exactly! Cap would have advantage during initial encounter, but more time fight goes, more tactical advantage Batman would get, as he is simply smarter.
@@Dragonpit i dont say batman cant beat cap. but deathbattle finish that fight like stupid. cap is also very good tactician there is no fucking way for his being that ignorant and careless to throw his shield into the fog so randomly
Best description of all time. *1*
It’s not just intelligence and planning and detective skills it’s also a fair amount of wisdom I don’t think he gets enough credit for his wisdom
Batman is so scary that if he ever were to T-Pose to assert dominance, everyone would panic because they wouldn't know what Batman has done to them and just pass out from panic. Not knowing that it was part of Batman's plan.
I couldn’t understand half of what you said
@adorabledanable I understood almost all of the video, but I had to re-listen to 8:43 three times.
Same here.
Can't speak British?
He outsmarts, everyone. Like top 10 is way too small for this
Honestly, seeing Batman (In recent years) only break his one rule against Darkseid is so perfect
Cool series! Keep them coming
Think my favorite batman moment was from batman beyond's movie where Terry was fighting the Joker and pissed him off by laughing at him.
Wait...I like to talk...
