Hi doc. Im leaking protein 320 but my kidneys are ok, no auto immune, just gout and cholesterol. All doctors says im ok, but i been peeing bubble foam for a couple of months now.

@@fteambjj Yes, definitely. Nephrotic syndrome is very dangerous, and indicates heavy damage to the kidney, and likely even impending renal failure (especially if left untreated).
The "shut up" kills me. Going back to school to become an NP at some point and working in Peds ER currently. It's really great to have these catch up videos to refresh. Thank you!

As someone mentioned before: The major lipoproteins, including intermediate density lipoprotein (IDL), very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and cholesterol are INCREASED in the plasma of patients with nephrotic syndrome, owing mainly to impaired clearance (they are too big) and, to a lesser extent, increased biosynthesis. (as I learned)

But about the lipoprotein part, isn't hyperlipidemia in Nephrotic syndrome due to increased hepatic synthesis of lipoproteins in response to low oncotic pressure?

Suffering from this problem since 2yrs of age, I am 27 now. But fortunately its not severe in my case and 3months of steroids work for a year. Also want to share that a proteinuria makes froth in the water. If it happens for many days then your urine has proteins. Even on flushing the froth wont go away.

I have this decease. Got it as a young kid and grew out of it with puberty. Now I’m 27 and had a relapse. I watched this video to better understand what is happening. Can’t wait for more high doses of prednisone. My ankles, eyes, testicals, swell up to the size of tennis balls. Ready for battle.
Same here was diagnosed as a kid I’m 29 now just recently had a relapse my tonsils and eyes have been swelling I just got my prednisone prescription today
