Mine is a 2007 with only 35k, and yes they do like a drink and they aren’t cheap to run, but, it really is all things to all men. It can do the town driving pretty well, it munches motorway miles, 5 adults in relative comfort, boot full of gear, and when you have dropped everybody home after a good run it will still rip your face off and is more than fast enough. The best RS car to date imo.
i bought mine brand new in 2007, had to sell it in 2013 because id to move for business, they are cosworths all over again (i bought a brand new saph 4x4 in 1990 kept it till 95) ie in 5yrs time there will be tonnes of bad examples for sale because young guys could afford the screen price (just) but not to run them lol

Owned one and sold it. I subsequently bought a golf r...which while fast and clinical never compared with the b7. It was a real high point for audi. And I am now looking for another. It's a lovely thing. 👍

Already a classic rs4 ... what a machine
Back in 2007 I had a Misano red B7. Living in Germany it was often used hard but it was also happy to be driven steady - my commute was 50 miles each way with a good section of unrestricted Autobahn. I was best mates with the local Aral garage and everyone knew when I was leaving the office car park which was completely surrounded by buildings - the echo of that exhaust off the tall buildings was just perfect. I loved the car however, the issue I had was stability on wet roads. Even with newish tyres, I suffered twice with the rear tyres aquaplaning on wet dual carriageways and the car sliding around very badly - once at 50mph and once travelling much faster. Glad I had the car.

I also like the original bigger Audi S8's in silver from the late 90's to 2003..!!! (330-360bhp 4.2)

Met a guy at the Nurburgring who had one of these and he had R8 carbon ceramics fitted. It was a great thing, very impressive.
PT82 Carbon ceramics where a very expensive optional extra for this car. Only extra my b7 RS4 is missing a long with the solar panel sun roof.

414bhp and they always dyno well underpowered! I had one with 80k and was so caked up with carbon it was running 386bhp

Very similar engine wise 414bhp 309kW but you only get manual option with the RS4-B7 & the E92 M3 comes manual & DCT

its rear wheel drive i test drove one and span it nearly in the wet, rs4 felt alot better but each to there own and im a masive c63 fanboy and it shit me sideways

That rs4 b7 will match any car today new cars are not the same engines have changed but that rs4 b7 has a strong solid engine and will last longer than the new engines in modern cars old cars are better imo

the engine was not in the audi R8 first. it was in the RS4 first then when the R8 came out they used the engine from the RS4.

Usualy a BMW is more of a drivers car compared to an audi equivalent. And that also counts for this thing. M3>rs4 and when ist about best v8 saloon from that era id say e39 m5.

Yes Bud? I own a 2009 6.2 vxr8 and it’s my dream car. Wortec exhaust. It cost me £21000, and that’s for a car that was only £35000 new nine years ago. I wouldn’t have an rs4 or any Audi for that matter. Wooden steering no feal. And only a4.2 v8. Looks to understated. And if u don’t drive it properly the engine gets coked up. Also the vxr8 is much rarer on the road. Because it’s a better car.🤭🤬🤪

Don't get it wrong awesome cars two of my mates & Aunt own these versions but I wouldn't put them in the rare category....(I thought there would be more of them over there being a such a good practical/beast of a car)

Its a lovely car, dont get me wrong, but the c63 scares the living fuck out of you...
I own the RS4, have driven my buddy’s M3. Ultimately the RS4 feels more put together and raw through windy roads which is primarly what I like to drive
Vxr8 is a better car. And they r rarer and worth more money. 6.2 v8. Proper engine.

@@allaboutlife5376 get the gear change right they just sit there together i have a rs4 and play with golfs and s3's they are pretty much even, maybe on a propper runway to top speed but on the streets and the odd motorway slip road no.
RS4 would lose to a s3 or a golf R (Source: I own a RS4 and they're slow) Being slow doesn't take away from how special the car is
