Some nice things!
On the silver tea set: it's tarnish; I wouldn't call it "patina". Patina is acquired over decades of use. Tarnish is just oxidation happens over weeks-months all by itself.

The snow painting isn't old old, more like 1980s old. The canvas is linen and not cotton. That's why it's a different color.
Snow is just about everything but white. There are more than 2000 tints, tones and shades of white. Snow can be any combination of those.
The wood on the tea set is ebony. Rosewood is a red toned wood.
The beaded bags are c1920. The Egyptian revival came with the discovery of King Tut's tomb.
A terrarium would be nice too for the stand.

I agree. I always see thrift and get excited to see what treasures she can find. Antiquing though, of course u will find treasures. Prices are higher

That old mission is Mission San Juan Capistrano. We used to live 10 mins from it. It’s so beautiful (both the mission and the painting of it). So glad you are taking that picture home!

the art deco tea set, I had found that exact set! I found them at a local thrift store in Montreal for $12.99! Yours is only the second I've ever seen! Thrifting is so fun! Great find!

I think the wood on the lids on your wonderful tea set is ebony. Amazing finds!
Sometimes it’s a black Bakelite material - the idea being to not transmit the heat of the coffee and burn fingers. Actually looking at the set again, the handle would have probably been ‘wrapped’ with something similar too. So you can pour without burning. Maybe even a wicker or rattan, that has since broken off. The handles are too un ergonomic in their present shape/form.

I've got the sugar from that tea-set! I had no idea it was Deco, I thought it might be 60s, but looking at the rest of the set it's definitely Deco. I'm so happy, I just grabbed it at a thrift store because I needed a sugar for the rare occasion I had someone around who took sugar in their drink, and that one has a really good seal - I had an ant infestation and they didn't manage to get into there.

Awwwww I’m so happy to see my Italy trip buddies! I love that Nancy and Joe joined you. Funny I just got back from southern Oregon a few weeks ago. Now I know what places to shop. I shopped in Grants Pass and Central Point. Have been to a couple of the Medford places before. Great treasures and great times! I just sold my favorite treasure from Florence Flea, a gorgeous Limoges, trinket box , had just convinced myself I should keep for myself! Lol, for the best. Now can buy more! You look so pretty in your blue flowered blouse; suits you just right! I thought for sure you’d keep that lion rug for your studio. That one lone brass bookend you found-I found a matched set for $8 at a thrift store here in Florida. I couldn’t decide if they were art deco or gothic. My fiancé loved them and hated to sell them, but sell them we did in his Etsy shop, for $60. There was a LOT of interest in them. Thanks for a fun romp! 😊
If the black accents on the silver plated tea set is wood it’s probably ebony. If plastic, it could be Bakelite.
