- Welcome to Kimono Mom's Kitchen! This is a cooking show by a Japanese mom and her daughter. Today we made Japanese Shaved Ice, called Uji-Kintoki. It's easy to make and perfect for summer treat! Please give it a try! If you make it, please tag us and share it!

1kg - ice
・Damplings
200g - Shiratamako
200ml - water
・Matcha syrop
20g - Matcha powder
300g - sugar
250ml - water
・Topping
1canned - sweet red beans (400g)
Condensed milk

💚Matcha syrup can be mixed with milk to make matcha ole, latte, poured over ice cream, mixed into pancakes, or made into jelly….
🍡Dumplings can be skewered, grilled, and served with sauce, added to hot pots, or tossed in pasta sauce….
🫘 There are endless ways to use red beans paste. They can be sandwiched between pancakes to make dorayaki, or spread on bread….

This is a great video and recipe especially watching Moe & Sutan making it..☺️❤️
We do have condensed milk overseas at least in Australia and the UK I love using it to make a quick fudge or a dulce de Leche sauce 🥰
Moe, it is easily found and commonly used also in the US, and many Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries. Oh, and South Asian Indian countries as well. Brazilians use it to make their famous truffle candy called Brigadiero. Some Spanish speaking countries and former colonies like the Philippines, use it in many desserts such as Flan (caramel custard) and Tres Leches Cake (3 Milks Cake). My So Asian Indian friends use it to make quick and simple ice creams and add fruits like mango and pistachios. Also in the Philippines, there is a very famous dessert very similar to Kakigori. It's called Halo Halo. Sweetened Condensed Milk is a common ingredient used as a topping just like you did. It's not difficult to find in any grocery store in those countries.
I enjoy that the video uses the traditional Christmas song “O Holy Night,” to close with.

Yes, we loveee condensed milk overseas 😋 There is even a caramelized version called dulce de leche. "Cajeta" is also caramelized, but made with goat's milk 😊

This looks delicious! I wonder if you could do a fusion by adding a touch of orange flower water or rose water to the dumpling or maybe sakura for a more Japanese flavour.
Everything is better when is made in Japan! And I mean it! Every thing that I bought and is made in Japan I have it for many years! Especially my car which is a Toyota Corolla! My father bought it early 90's and I got it next! No damage has ever happened to it! Only it's services and it works fine! Nice video Moe and sweetie Sutan!
the red sweets beans are delicious!!! I'm never tasted that before I did it a japan restaurant and doesn't tastes like salted beans they have their own flavour like a dessert!
Omg that must be so refreshing, we in Indonesia have the similar one called "Es Campur (Mix ice)" we usually use rose syrup or red cherry syrup in it, and we also put alot of topping such as jelly, young coconut flesh, sweet red bean, sagoo pearl, and many more. That's why it called Mix ice because we mix alot of topping 😊
