  • My Tiffany's bracelet had tarnished SO bad over the last 10 years by not being stored and cared for properly. I was able to get it sparking clean by just using dish soap, water, soft toothbrush, and my favorite polishing cloth (Sunshine Polishing Cloth) see link below! Watch the video to see the cleaning process and before and after pictures!

    Hi Nichol! To clean silver without scrubbing I use 1tsp of liquid soap (ones for hands) and 1tsp of baking soda with half glass of hot water. I leave for 15 minutes and rinse in warm water. baking soda dissolves the oxidation and silver becomes shiny without scrubbing. Some jewelry in addition I polish with a polishing cloth for greater shine. This method is used by jewelers in Russia and I have been using it for many years.

    The best way to keep Sterling Silver shiny is to wear it all the time. In the bath, the shower etc. If you keep silver in your jewellery box it’ll get tarnished.

    I received a few Tiffany necklaces as gifts and I was completely careless and lost the flannel pouch they come with. I threw them in a jewelry box and 4 years later they were in pretty bad shape. I soaked them in dish soap as mentioned in this video, then used a polish cloth and they look like new again!
    Thank you for this video!
    I have since started having a better appreciation for my Tiffany, especially since someone thought of me and got them as gifts! I am greatly looking forward to growing my collection this year, a bracelet is on my wishlist!

    I cleaned my Tiffany bracelet with a pan of hot water, boiling a pan lined with tin foil and baking soda. Line the pan with foil, boil the water, drop silver jewelry in and sprinkle with baking soda. Let it sit, dry then polish.

    My favorite for polishing my Tiffany pieces is to put your Tiffany jewelry in a Pyrex dish, sprinkle heavily with baking soda and pour boiling water on top....let cool for about 20 min, then brush....rinse and polish with Pandora cloth.....100% works!! Less time since my Tiffany pieces are certain;y heavier than my Pandora :)

    • @endor8witch
      @endor8witch 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to scrub if you add a layer of aluminum foil. The baking soda and hot water causes a chemical reaction that causes the tarnish to attach itself to the foil instead, peeling it off to reveal the original silver! It's easy. Leave for 3 mins.

    Oh that was SO SATISFYING! You did an amazing job and your bracelet looks great. I don’t think I could forget if I owned a Tiffany bracelet...I’ve always wanted something from there. One thing I like to do when I polish is put the bracelet down, like on a towel, and rub the cloth down on the bracelet. You get a little more resistance and pressure because you aren’t holding it. Obvi you were filming in front of the camera so maybe you usually do that too. Loved this video Nichol! I too would like to see your ring and key chain too!

    • @MyPandoraCharmedLife
      @MyPandoraCharmedLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      a1angiem I feel like a jerk for forgetting!!! I had a couple back to back moves so it became out of site out of mind.
      That’s an interesting method! I’ve done it opposite where I put the polishing cloth on a flat surface and rub the charm in it that way. I think I explained that weird. Lol.
      I totally lost my key chain and ring along the way so there is nothing to show. That was my last piece! So sad!!

    If you take it into the store they’ll clean and polish it for you and it will be shiny as new! Also, they sometimes throw in a silver cleansing cloth. I got one last time I had to get something repaired. It worked so well to clean the tarnish off all my unworn pieces, I didn’t have to put in much strength at all to wipe them down. my silver turns black unless I wear it 24/7 =/ I keep them in the pouches in the boxes but they still tarnish over time.

    Very cool. This is exactly what I do for all my silver and gold. For my non-pandora I use Connoisseurs Jewelry Wipes. They are dry, very efficient, and (after a few uses) disposable which is nice. For my Pandora I stick with the white pandora clothes that you can buy for $5. Those are great initially but I feel like they lose the chemical pretty quickly which makes me sad. Maybe I'm just a polishing addict haha!

    My parents bought me a Tiffany necklace for my birthday in 2015. It is a heart with a key on the same chain, but unfortunately the key began to rub and scratch the heart (HUGE flaw in the design) so I put it in the ALLEGEDLY protective pouch and only wear it on special occasions. It’s been a year or so since I’ve worn it so I decided to bring it out again. ITS COMPLETELY TARNISHED. So much for a special made protective pouch. I’m hoping I can fix the beautiful necklace my parents gave me.

    Hey Nichol!
    Since the promo for Pandora started today, I had a question. You can get a free ring, earring, or leather bracelet with a $65 retail value. Can you use the $65 for a different bracelet like the classic barrel clasp bracelet? Like can you use the credit for something else? Have you done that before?

    • @MyPandoraCharmedLife
      @MyPandoraCharmedLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bikes hi!! The fine print that I am reading says the bracelet has to be in the leather bracelet category which is kind of a bummer! But they do make mention that you can upgrade... so for the rings or earrings if your free item is $100 you would only pay the difference of $35.
