Really interesting stuff, Phil. Fellow player here, though I've only had it a couple of months). On the whole, I've found that it's possible to progress with the story/events without spending a thing (if you're patient!), though the one exception to this would be the second Doom's Day event, which seemed unusually difficult to complete (so I basically just gave up with that one). It's sneaky of them to keep adding levels too - I get why they do it, but it would be nice to have an proper end point!
I downloaded it for the Doom's day event, but when I realised I missed 3 hours instead of the 5 minutes for discovering the game I was planning, I uninstall it immediately without playing any further
If you want to find out what happened plot wise in the events I’ve covered the first event in a video called Doom’sDay Cannon update #2 and will be covering the 2nd event in next ep of that’s series.
I agree pretty much with everything you said however my mind simply wont let me delete it. When they announced Doom's Day was going to be part of it I went back to the game having not played it for a few weeks and decided that when the Doom's Day stuff happens I will record the footage using the phones screen recorder but this then evolved into recording the story elements of the whole game. I have not done this cos I think the story is good but I think good or bad I think the story should preserved somewhere and so far I cant see that anywhere. Currently I have 43 eps of the main story recorded and all but 1 of the special events, I have spent so much time doing this.......help.
Well I commend your service to media preservation at least 😄. So, did you start the game from scratch so that you could record the early story elements from before you decided to record them?
No I borrowed my brothers phone and used his to record the bits I missed. I think the main reason I want to do it so that in future I have the story to refer back to if it becomes relevant to something else.@@CulturePhilter
I keep getting ads for this at the moment, i was really interested at first but the moment they showed footage of the gameplay I was really annoyed. I really hate this kind of game, and I agree that its really frustrating that the Doctor Who brand is getting involved with it. The idea of a Doctor Who multiverse mobile game would be great, IN ANY OTHER FORMAT!!!
You did the right thing in deleting it Phil, ive still got it downloaded but ive only played it when I've had time to quickly load it up for 5 minute bursts. I've missed a fair few event characters (including Doom's Day stuff) but i try not to worry too much about it as its less characters to upgrade 😅
I have played it since the March 8th or 9th launch and have yet to spend a single cent on the game. I'll use stuff to get more Kerblams to open but never will I spend a penny on in game items.
I have started playing this again after a whole year. And it still sucks balls. Back in March of last year, I sent them a very lengthy message on their Facebook wall saying how much I disliked it and even gave some suggestions of how to make the game more fun rather than just relying on In App Purchases just to progress, especially with a better solution to earning more crystals and to be more generous with the loot. But alas, they NEVER took my feedback on board and probably thought I was just completely mental or just never learned out of spite as they probably knew I had better ideas than them. Who knows frankly who cares? The game is still pushing players to spend their hard earned money on certain things like Epic Cards, Legendary Cards (mainly the Tardises) and crystals. Almost nothing is free in this game and it makes them really scummy and sleazy.
Yeah, enough people pay for the stuff for it to make it worth including them even if it annoys the rest of us. I was slightly tempted to go back on for the Star Trek crossover but didn’t bother in the end.
@CulturePhilter I've almost got all the rewards in that event going on right now. Just bummed I can't get the Tardises without tearing a hole in my wallet.
Now I got this game a few days after it came out and I played for a few weeks now eventually I got board of it and I deleted it now I think this is a disgusting way to get money especially if this happens with children that is especially bad

That’s a good point that I didn’t even think to touch on. Will the story actually wrap up? It doesn’t feel like it.

Still, it’s not as bad as that NFT game that also got released.

Every time I tried to do it for 5 mins it would turn into an hour 😄

It’s definitely playable without spending money but it’s constantly trying to tempt people into spending.
Fr like I usually just download games and play it for fun and I have never spend money on a mobile games

So wouldn’t it better to just go on another app and do things then go to the doctor who game and get everything you need then do it all over again
Yes, that’s what you do but to maximize your gains in the Doctor Who game you have to go back to it very frequently.
Now I got this game a few days after it came out and I played for a few weeks now eventually I got board of it and I deleted it now I think this is a disgusting way to get money especially if this happens with children that is especially bad
I love garbage
The band? 😄
