I mean, it's not really that hard, especially considering how advanced these AWD systems have become. I used to be able to chat while drifting in snow with my Evo 8 in the mid 2000's. But that said, the dude was actually great regardless how much he chatted up. Great job on his part.

That was funny to watch. It's very good that you can bounce off the limiter. He didn't mention how long you can bounce off the limiter until it cuts power slightly, though. He only used 2 seconds and 30 seconds as examples of a short and a long time.
@@alankingchiu How? I have driven both sedans and CUVs and SUVs. A CUV is the best between both worlds for the average person. On most CUVs. You have better ground clearnce so you do t have to worry about curbs as much (I walk through parking lots and many sedans have scrapes all over the bumpers.) We took a rental Mitsubishi outlander sport offroad and what we went through a sedan or hatch could never do. CUVs now have very good gas milage and handle very well in my experience. If your older it's easier to get in and out of. Heck it's just simpler for all ages compared to lower cars or higher SUVs. In America the supply of Hatches and Wagons is very small and are typically the higher end German brands, so most cars are sedans that have a tunnel so you lose a lot of room putting seats down compared to a CUV. Also some CUVs have recling seats for rear passengers which I'm pretty sure most sedan dont have unless they are the premium kind. Also sedans sometimes sacrifice head room for style where a CUV typically doesn't. You can also sleep in the back of ita a big enough CUV. I know a wagon or offer that but like I said, most people think their ugly so not much of a selection when people are looking for a practical vehicle. Also if you want AWD the tunnel in a CUV in the back will be less annoying then a comparable car. Now of you want to be all sporty and such a dealer should recommend a sedan or hatch. But for the fast majority of people who view vehicles as a appliance the CUV is the better option.

Because NOT A SINGLE review shows that about the system. they only complain about the touch buttons. They are so easy to use, but somehow all reviewers lose all motoring skills when talking about it.

Fantastic video. As others have said, a virtual tour / interview has to be a snore-fest, right? Absolutely not. The format totally worked, largely down to the fact that Benny was an absolute legend. Nothing was too much trouble, super knowledgeable, and he explained everything REALLY well. He brought life and passion to what could have been quite a dull session. You guys have earned another subscriber from this, cracking stuff.

I thought this was going to be lame, but it quickly became one of the best reviews of a car I've seen. VW accidentally gave us what we want. We're in it to dive, so they gave us a proper driver that's as enthusiastic about every bit of the machines than we are. This plus the hosts throwing him random questions and tasks .... top stuff lads :) Right up there with Chris Harris reviewing a car with and chatting directly to the engineers or test drivers (e.g. his Maclaren P1 or 911 GT2 RS MR videos)
Full credit to VW for getting this type of thing set up. I remember just a few months ago any of these online reviews were basically a PowerPoint presentation and maybe a walk around of a vehicle, and now they've set up legit drivers who know about the cars to do one on one reviews. Really fun video, sucks you guys can't drive the Golf R yourself but honestly this is the next best thing, and from a video viewer side of things the only thing missing is the 1 on 1 comparison between other vehicles you've driven. Top notch!

Great video very informative. Just got mine yesterday in a manual transmission one of the perks of living in North America. An absolute beast of a car the infotainment takes a little getting used to but it's really not as bad as people say they just never had the time to learn it in their reviews.

I love my 2017 Golf R. It is a manual. Not a daily driver but when I do drive it, it is so comfortable and responsive. Awesome. It doesn't have all the same settings as the 2022 but i probably wouldn't use all of them anyway.
This dude is rad, not only does he know everything about this car, but he played along when I would have pretended the connection was bad, coffee... up.., you...kerrr.. breaking up... He is a better human than most.
I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that it'll be less than $50,000 when it arrives in the US; I was planning on purchasing a Type R Civic but all the dealers around here are tacking on stupid mark up so if this new Golf R is close to the old pricing than I'll be the first in line to buy one.

Drifting in the snow is actually much easier than drifting on dry pavement. You can do it at much lower speeds.

Drifting on ice is pretty easy. Driving and talking in any way though seems to be pretty hard, so drifting and talking must be pretty tough!

0-60 in 4.03 sec and traps 110.7mph in the 1/4 - yeah the upgrade is worth it. This car is making close to 360hp with those numbers.
