You've delved into them deeply enough such that the Netflix documentary Light Up The Sky about them will be meaningful to you. You'll learn all about their journey from auditioning to Coachella and their struggles in-between. Whatever respect and appreciation you have will grow 10fold. Very few in real life would get through the trials they went through. As blinks we see them a sweet, kind, considerate individuals but to accomplish what they have takes a level of fortitude, grit, and shear determination that I know that I don't have nor does anyone I know have.
It's one aspect of the kpop industry I appreciate the training system is harsh but it really prepares these individuals for life in the entertainment industry. Compared to the west we just give them a recording contract and send them on there way.

Yg just confirmed yesterday that Jisoo is shooting her solo MV overseas!! Her debut is supposedly dropping in April but we’ll be getting the poster & some pics in early march!! I’m so excited for my girl.

That really is awesome news. Except, I learned a few years ago, NEVER TRUST what YG says, especially about time-tables. Their scheduling reports are NEVER correct when they make announcements.
For me, it comes down to 'I will believe it when I see it and not a moment earlier', because of their unreliability between those announcements and when or IF stuff ever actually happens.

They’ve been giving us news abt it since Jan so I rlly expect that YG will drop it before Coachella so they all can perform their own songs. I’m rlly excited cuz I feel like she’s gonna give us something truly unexpected!! Debuting at coachella tho like it’s def her year😭
@@jadorejisoo I have no doubts that the shooting for the MV is being done and I even heard some time last year that she had recorded the vocals. I just won't bother waiting for the MV to drop for another year-and-a-half. IF it actually comes out WHEN THEY SAY it will, that would indeed be a very big, pleasant surprise.
@@jadorejisoo I don't think that they've confirmed when the solo will be released. But the information about them currently filming the m/v seems solid and the fact that YG says that it's going to be their biggest budget for an m/v should put to rest the gossip and rumors about BP disbanding this year. YG is not the type of company that invests big amounts in artists if they expect the artist to leave the company soon. They obviously expect BP to be with the company for several more years and expect Jisoo's solo to be a big success.
Would love to see "Love To Hate Me/Never Know" from The Show. One of the most underrated Blackpink performances plus you don't have to worry about lyric videos. All 4 girls have perfect vocals and Lisa owns the rap.

The theory about this music video is that Jennie, Rose and Lisa are in a toxic relationship(that's why they have a partner on their scenes) and because of this toxicity they reached their breaking point where they killed themselves(Jennie Carcrash, Rose Drowing in the tub, Lisa falling above the building and Jisoo on her scene she has the hourglass and if you look closely the sand is reverse where Jisoo wishes to turn back the time where she can save her friends you can see her running in one scene. and the last part where Jisoo is in the pool where she didnt make it to save her friends and killed herself as well and they reunited in the heavens as the last part where they are finally together as the scene is like a paradise.
That is one theory. I really hope that was NOT what the creatives meant to have as a storyline. The lyrics are sad enough on their own (if anybody is actually paying attention tot them past the awesome up-beat music and dancing).

lisa always rocking rap, I love the beat of this song everything complements each other❤️
Plus Lisa got a few lines of real vocals that were not actually rap. People FREAKED OUT when they realized she actually can SING. Pretty funny to me because the other ladies have mentioned that during training, Lisa was always getting top marks all the way around. That should have been the first clue. She can SING or she would not be in BP now, she never would have debuted with them if she could not sing.
Same with Jisoo. Just because she was not already an English speaker before training, she was a little behind in that one area but she has caught up since. Then, being the designated 'visual', she got flamed for not being able to sing or dance, she was apparently 'just there to look good' according to haters and other anti-stans. That is patently unfair, though; she would not be in this World-Class group if she could not sing or dance. She can do both AND she can spit bars, pretty fast, too. AND she's a solid actor (the whole reason she was accepted into YGE in the first place). Between all the members, they can do it all.
The whole idea of this group was to be a 'smaller' group that could be International, so they all had to be on the level of all-rounders.
Lisa can be more bigger but not with YG. I hope she will be free soon

Subconsciously, the song feels very nostalgic & melancholic especially with the subject matter talking about things in the past tense. The MV even has an 80s feel & with the girls' fashion sense has that era's retro vibes & lighting. It's basically a really sad song wrapped in an upbeat song. Imo, it's the opposite to their As If It's Your Last track.
For a lot of blinks this is a personal favorite 💗 In addition to the writing credits for Jennie and Jisoo, it is also a clearer representation of their pink side (instead of the black one we see a lot).
It shows their vulnerability, their realistic views but also that they are still going to live and take risks because they know they will survive.
At least that's how I read the song :) The line "We were born to be alone, but we're still looking for love" was what sealed the deal for me as a fan.
You guys really need to check out their Tokyo Dome live performances! They have some of the best stage presents I've ever seen !!

What makes the both of you such good reactors is the way you pick up on things that other reactors don't. Blackpink members wanted this song to cheer up their fans during bad times and breakups ( taken from their interview/show right before the release of this song). heartbreak is part of looking for love and the members are willing to accept this to, hopefully, eventually find love.

This MV also lead to my personal favorite BLACKPINK being badass moments.
The original MV had Jennie in a nurses outfit in a few scenes. After backlash for "sexualizing nurses" YGE cut the scenes. That next weekend the group did their first live stages for the song and the B side "Pretty Savage". Jennie came out in a long sleeve crop top and long baggy pants that had the word "Censored" on the crotch. She even posted the outfit on IG with the captions "we some 🙊 you can't manage"

Yes. That whole "controversy" was also very bogus. There really was no problem with the scene. The problem is that Blackpink is so famous that various interest groups/organizations want to use Blackpink's fame to get attention and funding for their group. It was actually a relatively small organization that pretended to speak for all nurses who organized a press conference and did media play, using Blackpink's video to get attention. Most nurses I know (and I know a number of them) would just think that making an issue about Jennie wearing a nurse uniform was a joke. People should see how nurses themselves joke around.

@@TEAM__POSEID0NThey had good(?) intentions and wanted to send an important message across, but they literally used Jennie for it. They literally brought huge amounts of hate on the girl. No matter how noble your cause is, stepping on other people to do it is inexcusable. It makes you one of the bad guys. Besides, they're really not even solving the root cause of the problem. Even if nurses are wearing long pants and long sleeves, they will still be sexualized and sexually harassed, esp in patriarchal Korea with rich influential people.

Anyway I just wanted to drop a request for you guys to react to XG. They're a japanese girl group, but they were "created" and trained in the Korean system, so they promote in Korea. Specifically, I'd love it if you guys could start with GALZ XYPHER - it's a cypher sort of song in which the rapline - COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY and JURIN go ABSOLUTELY OFF! As a hip hop head, I'm sure this one would be an interesting one for Eric, but I'm sure Kyle would enjoy it too! They have other songs with the whole group (TIPPY TOES, MASCARA, LEFT RIGHT & my personal favorite SHOOTING STAR) but I really think the cypher would be more your style.

You should always pay attention to the Signs/Graffiti/Writing... It always has meaning in a BlackPink M/V.... very deliberate.
