I fell in love with Footy because of the torpedo. Why don’t they let the guys do them any more? They’re my favorite. Also, makes sense to me when there’s a behind to unload the torp. I’m no expert but it works just really be fun for me to see them kicking for 70+ meters. Long live Footy!!!!
Unfortunately distance is not the focus these days, possession through short kicks is the norm. Overuse of the ball is rife, when you compare stats from say twenty years ago, team possessions would be 100- 150 less than today. Also noticed that teams with a greater number of handballs generally lose, the more they try to keep possession, the more turnovers there are, handball rather than go for distance with set plays.
That moment when the crowd simultaneously goes "OHHH" is just as satisfying as the barrels themselves.
Blight's torp at princess park went through about goal post high - thing must have traveled 90+ metres
It literally went about 70, what are you talking about

Great video
2:40, 2:51 and 2:58 weren't torps but equally as impressive! Great vid!
Theres only one kick to finish a video about torpedoes...
Blight’s still the most impressive. Realistically probably 70 meters..
Goddards went further than Blight.
Hahaha funny thing recently in my footy game I played on Anthony roccas son he ended breaking his wrist but rocca looks so different
Is there anything better than big torps??? Probably not
