This video gives me hope. I grew up in a house of addiction, my family has lost so many and suffered so much from drugs. I lost my sister, niece, brother-in-law, and cousin to drugs as well as friends. My mom struggled with addiction my whole life, although she was clean at the time of her death. People who have not experienced the pain and suffering of addiction firsthand have no idea what it does to not only the user but also those who love them. Please keep fighting the fight Jelly Roll...we need more people like you to bring this to light, thank you!

I lost my mother in 2008 to viccodin, even though she's alive to this day.
Here, I am 23 years old, struggling with my own addictions, but I'm proud now. I'm proud because every day I try to quit, to better myself, to be the parent mine weren't for my future.

My mom is a meth addict, and while now clean, her actions sent my sister and I into foster care. My heart breaks for addicts, but MOST OF THE TIME people chose to do drugs at least the first time. People need to speak out about all of it, they only focused on crack for a while, then meth, then heroine, then prescription drugs, now fentanyl. They’re all still here and they all need addressed.

There is no such thing as “tough love”. There is tough and there is love.
By “tough love” they mean punishment and rejection, which is unhealthy.
Addiction is a temporary relief for
    Pain
    Control
    Loneliness
    Anxiety- inner peace
    Addiction is not the problem
The addiction is an attempt to solve the problem.
The real question is “how did the problem develop?”
It’s an unconscious desire to escape, so why do we punish someone who is already suffering? How cruel that is?
You don’t punish people because they are suffering and in pain…. We need to help them, instead we make them criminals.
YOU CANNOT PUNISH PAIN OUT OF PEOPLE.
The medical world misunderstands this problem. Medical students are not trained on how serious emotional health disorders can affect patients.
They don’t get trained on how to treat trauma.

    • @johnbuoy1401
      @johnbuoy1401 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Nonsense. Drug abuse makes people utterly selfish, love will help some, care is essential, but others will take and take and take, abuse help and care for their own addiction. As someone who has been through it and am very lucky to be alive and I know exactly what I’m taking about. A small amount will get through with help, others will need to learn the hard way, the gentle approach and pretending addicts are victims is why we are where are today

We don't abuse our meds and we can't even get through a day without them. I know that fentanyl is a big problem its coming from the streets but please leave our pain meds alone. Its getting to the point that people having surgery are left in pain also. Women who have to have a c-section are lefy in pain. This is not the answer either. I really believe we need to look at Switzerland abd see what they have done. It worked. Having clean drugs given by the government even helps get people clean. @@DeadGirl420 Yep, it's tough being perfect, but I would not know because I am far from perfect just like everyone else. However, I did not sell drugs to kids or anyone else for that matter. Never stuck a gun in someone's face and threaten to kill them for my next fix either. Just so you know, there are different degrees of right and wrong. Running a red light compared to killing someone and cutting them up for a meal are a bit different. A lot of folks that have done seriously bad things, years later love to climb up on their soap box and boast about how they change their life and god or whoever saved them, that's fine. I just prefer the people that lead a more decent life from the start and don't go around bragging and promoting it every chance they get. They did good from the start and stayed good, that deserves a shout out too.

He says it’s not a partisan issue which is kind of true, but on the left, some liberals will see overdosing as living your own truth and on the right, some libertarians will simply be apathetic because it doesn’t affect them

Why keep pushing the division? This man is trying to bring people together for a cause. This is a bipartisan effort. Maybe try to open your eyes and see that people on both sides of the aisle care about fixing this. Evil doesn’t discriminate according to what political party someone subscribes to.

my mom was into meth, and was laced with fentanyl. she was killed in june 2021. even though i accept the fact that she made the choice to use an illegal drug, she didn't deserve to be killed because someone gave her a chemical she unknowingly ingested. she was found in a hotel room after a suspected party. nobody checked up on her, and most of them probably left the moment they were sure something had gone awry, not once stopping to think if this was the mother of someone's child.
the man who sold her the drugs has been found guilty and will be sentenced on a charge of 2nd degree murder.
