I love yellow!!! Love navy and yellow. Yellow and brown and yellow with grey especially in a basement where natural light is limited
I think the entertainment center needs to go to the left so the speaker can go on the right. That way the sofa blocks its view and the entertainment center will look more centered because it will not look so close to the sofa.

I am not a fan of yellow but check out this really nice yellow toned color for Behr paint. It's called Cotton Sheets! It's beautiful. We used it to do our trim work in our house. I hate just plain white trim...maybe from all those years of renting 😂

I love to decorate bottom shelves with folded blankets, throws & pillows. ESPECIALLY in a family room. I think decorating can get too busy on shelves, and pretty linens really help with that and have so much functionality.

Hmmmm.... you gave me some ideas with that shutter. I could get one and use it in my spare room I'm in the process of getting set up for my quiet place and a spot for the grandkids to spend the night. I love how you decorated the basement.

Your enthusiasm always makes me smile. I love that you shop from your house stash 😂. Our basement is the same way, we are empty-nesters and use the family room upstairs all the time. I have used some of the room and made it into a craft area which can easily become cluttered. I laughed when I saw this video because this is on my to do list this morning ,, to tackle cleaning up that room. 🤣🤣❤️🤣

Thank you! It’s a bunch of wasted space 😂 but not worth it to downsize! We’ve been here for almost 18 years and with the housing market the way it is, it’s just too crazy!
I can't wait to see what you will do once you paint. Also, just a thought but could you put the big speaker that's on the floor over by the the side of the small couch? At least it would hide it and you could center the entertainment unit. :)

Very cute room with cute colors. Have you ever thought of a silver door kick plate to add to that door? I know they are on indoor doors sometimes and it kinda helps them to not look so plain. You could also add a little wreath, or something, but I think the kick plate would be enough
Great video! You could also print out a picture of the room, and put a clear dry erase sheet over the top. That way, you can mark up different layouts without having to print a new sheet each time.
This is perfect timing for me. I have the same issues with my living room. The problem for me is that my hubby is 6 ft. 3 and wants big furniture. So my space actually seems smaller than it is. Sometimes you just have to grin and bear it. Lol

Hiya. Came across your channel. Nice episode. You are honest, have a bubbely personality and some of the tips are great and really helpful.
The only down on this video and I find it a regular theme with American videos is that in Europe the sizes are even smaller. Your small size is our king size.
As much as we would like to fit those things it is just not possible.

As you were looking for a table for the couch I was thinking about one of those smallish tables where the legs slides under the couch. That would give at least 2 on the couch a place for beverages and snacks.

The sofa and love seat could be switched, This would solve the problem of table for the longer sofa and the love seat in the new position would allow for side tables on either side.

Great tip about the carpet. I bought one too small and now I regret it but honestly, I live alone and only have a friend or two come over once in a while. But next time I will be buying a better sized rug. I love how cute it is down there! Can you move the speaker behind the tv!?

I like the idea of printing a photo of the room.
Just a suggestion, but if it were me, I would put your coffee table in front of your large sofa and then some end tables at the love seat. But I would use a large square coffee table, NOT too large but a square table as then people at the love seat could also use it too. Bring the sofa in more so it doesn't feel so far back. Cut back on your yellow accessories. It is always fun to rearrange, I have been doing it for over 50 years.

My magic distance between the couch and the coffee table is - the width of my vacuum!

I really enjoy all your videos because you keep it real and to be honest I stop following a lot of people because it’s like shopping spree’s and this and that and realistically a lot of people don’t have a bunch of money and watching your videos are so refreshing because everything is done on a budget and it’s beautiful and your personality is so warm and inviting and I just enjoy it all and cannot wait to do my front porch for Halloween I’m so into the hocus-pocus thing on Halloween so thank you again for always making me smile

I like your space as it is smallish. I got a couple ideas to try.. My space is smaller and I don't have alot of wall space. I rent an apartment. The entrance door is on one wall. Another wall has an 109" wide window with a wall ac to the left of that. Another wall is about half wide as it's a wide entrance to the kitchen/hallway. The 4th wall is where the love seat is and has space for 2 end tables. It's been hard trying to but it together. Plus I have a very small budget to work with. The couch is anchored with a rug. Right now that's about it. A chair is on backorder and I'm looking for a used coffee table. This has been the hardest space to style ever for me. But thanks for your ideas. Love watching you.

I would have said you needed a bigger coffee table. That would solve the sidetable problem. The path from the door to the patio can still work when no one is seated and then when people are they can go around the sofa.

I love this video! I have a fluffier rug over a thick pet pad that is heavier than some furniture. I used to pull the sofas forward and lean them back so I could position the rug.. talk about a work out! But I gave up the ghost on that one. I finally did the unthinkable and pulled the rug out to just in front of the feet. May not seem like much, but that added a little more carpet to each side and my end tables fit perfectly along the edge of the carpet and my 3 granddaughters and 2 dogs all have room to play ❤️❤️ Plus room for little dog stairs to the small sofa❤️ Your sofas are beautiful and I appreciate someone who isn’t afraid to have a sofa with matching love seat! I love my set. I also love your tv cabinet. Again, great video! I am totally subscribing to your channel. 👍👍

I would switch the small couch with the chairs. The sm couch sticks out too far in front of the entertainment ctr. Love the pannel cover. Lightweight, easy to remove and put back up

Would you please humor an old lady for a moment? I think you should put the entertainment center on the wall where the missing molding is and the two chairs where the sofa now is. You can then put the sofa where the entertainment center was and the love seat where you now have the two chairs. With that bulkhead above it I think your entertainment center would look built in and you could put that wicker table behind the love seat. I'm just seeing it in my mind's eye lol.

Only comment is the table behind the sofa - you said for people sitting on that couch to put things on - there’s not much room for that with all the decor, so no real point for the table in that case
I thought you put the sofa table behind the sofa to give people who sit on the sofa a place to sit their drinks. There's no space for that after the decorations were placed on it.
Pull greenery on right forward so it can be seen. You could move your popcorn machine which would give you room for an end table.
