For those of you who missed it; and comment how you don't like the yellow paint. I am definitely painting this room ( like I said in the video)! It was done like 10 years ago! Just finding the time to do it, now that's a different story! I will keep you updated on the progress over on Instagram! 💛
I think the entertainment center needs to go to the left so the speaker can go on the right. That way the sofa blocks its view and the entertainment center will look more centered because it will not look so close to the sofa.
I am not a fan of yellow but check out this really nice yellow toned color for Behr paint. It's called Cotton Sheets! It's beautiful. We used it to do our trim work in our house. I hate just plain white trim...maybe from all those years of renting 😂
I love that you said “ lets pretend “ that the rug is in the right place … l was speaking to my Mum a couple of weeks ago, and l asked her what she had been doing and she said that she was “ pretending “ to do her vacuuming … l laughed for hours !! … 🤣🤣🤣
Watching while I have Covid. It’s 6/9/22. So, to make myself well better, I’m going to Have a marathon day with all your videos watching the ones I’ve already seen again. Not only do I like your style and how you decorate but you are so warm and welcoming and funny and cute and sweet and you and Jason together are Awesome! Thank you for making people feel better even if you don’t know them.
I love to decorate bottom shelves with folded blankets, throws & pillows. ESPECIALLY in a family room. I think decorating can get too busy on shelves, and pretty linens really help with that and have so much functionality.
Hmmmm.... you gave me some ideas with that shutter. I could get one and use it in my spare room I'm in the process of getting set up for my quiet place and a spot for the grandkids to spend the night. I love how you decorated the basement.
Thank you so much for this video. I live in a town house and though is not small my livingroom is for all the things I had. I downsides but I never can get that inviting, pretty, homey look I like. I learned how to in this video. I will try it. Thank you 💖
Leslie, I love what you did with a small room. I feel you kind of did this because I told you I had a small house and you told me all the things I could do with a small house.💕 Thank you so much for doing this.🤗🥰
Love decorating small and cozy. It is a challenge, learn to use pieces of furniture in balance with the size of the room. Love those two chairs so cute!
I would switch the small couch with the chairs. The sm couch sticks out too far in front of the entertainment ctr. Love the pannel cover. Lightweight, easy to remove and put back up
First of all, let me say I am jealous of your gorgeous tan. I can't be out in the sun much anymore. And your shirt is so cute!!! LOVE all the decorating ideas. I'm going to have to start watching your videos in the mornings. I watch at night and lie awake with all kinds of ideas for my home. Then the next day, I'm too tired to execute my plans. 😆
Very cute room with cute colors. Have you ever thought of a silver door kick plate to add to that door? I know they are on indoor doors sometimes and it kinda helps them to not look so plain. You could also add a little wreath, or something, but I think the kick plate would be enough
Thank you! It’s a bunch of wasted space 😂 but not worth it to downsize! We’ve been here for almost 18 years and with the housing market the way it is, it’s just too crazy!
I can't wait to see what you will do once you paint. Also, just a thought but could you put the big speaker that's on the floor over by the the side of the small couch? At least it would hide it and you could center the entertainment unit. :)
Your enthusiasm always makes me smile. I love that you shop from your house stash 😂. Our basement is the same way, we are empty-nesters and use the family room upstairs all the time. I have used some of the room and made it into a craft area which can easily become cluttered. I laughed when I saw this video because this is on my to do list this morning ,, to tackle cleaning up that room. 🤣🤣❤️🤣
Hiya. Came across your channel. Nice episode. You are honest, have a bubbely personality and some of the tips are great and really helpful. The only down on this video and I find it a regular theme with American videos is that in Europe the sizes are even smaller. Your small size is our king size. As much as we would like to fit those things it is just not possible. But please keep given out the nice tips that you are. I enjoyed overall watching it and definitely have subscribed. Thank you.
As you were looking for a table for the couch I was thinking about one of those smallish tables where the legs slides under the couch. That would give at least 2 on the couch a place for beverages and snacks.
Great video! You could also print out a picture of the room, and put a clear dry erase sheet over the top. That way, you can mark up different layouts without having to print a new sheet each time.
Hi!! Leslie i have lived watching u and u hursband!! U have saved ne , I have bewn watching u and JasonsLBD. I gave just been diagnosed listening to you to talk and watching you clean and straighten and make things pretty has just made me very happy. Just want to thank you for being there this is the first TH-cam channel I've ever watched and needless to say you are my favorite I look forward to you off and on all day God bless you both
Could you put the speaker on the top left of the entertainment center, laying it on its side, so that you can then slide the entire unit over to the left?
Just a suggestion, but if it were me, I would put your coffee table in front of your large sofa and then some end tables at the love seat. But I would use a large square coffee table, NOT too large but a square table as then people at the love seat could also use it too. Bring the sofa in more so it doesn't feel so far back. Cut back on your yellow accessories. It is always fun to rearrange, I have been doing it for over 50 years.
I really enjoyed your video. My daughter is trying to figure out how to decorate and set up her living room in an attic apt. The living is quite small. So this will be very helpful. Thanks for sharing
This is perfect timing for me. I have the same issues with my living room. The problem for me is that my hubby is 6 ft. 3 and wants big furniture. So my space actually seems smaller than it is. Sometimes you just have to grin and bear it. Lol
I like your space as it is smallish. I got a couple ideas to try.. My space is smaller and I don't have alot of wall space. I rent an apartment. The entrance door is on one wall. Another wall has an 109" wide window with a wall ac to the left of that. Another wall is about half wide as it's a wide entrance to the kitchen/hallway. The 4th wall is where the love seat is and has space for 2 end tables. It's been hard trying to but it together. Plus I have a very small budget to work with. The couch is anchored with a rug. Right now that's about it. A chair is on backorder and I'm looking for a used coffee table. This has been the hardest space to style ever for me. But thanks for your ideas. Love watching you.
I admire you so much. Such an adorable, positive person. I love all your videos. This one actually got me up and sweeping! Lol. Love to you and your husband.
Great tip about the carpet. I bought one too small and now I regret it but honestly, I live alone and only have a friend or two come over once in a while. But next time I will be buying a better sized rug. I love how cute it is down there! Can you move the speaker behind the tv!?
Of course love all that you do 💕 Our neurologist has confirmed Levy Body diagnosis for my hubby. I sent you an email but I know you probably get tons. Continuing to pray for y’all and your daughter. Hope she’s doing well ! Robin
This turned out cute. I can’t wait to see what color you paint it🙂 because I love your decorating ideas. Plus where can I get a popcorn machine like yours? That’s one of my favorite things in the room
I really enjoy all your videos because you keep it real and to be honest I stop following a lot of people because it’s like shopping spree’s and this and that and realistically a lot of people don’t have a bunch of money and watching your videos are so refreshing because everything is done on a budget and it’s beautiful and your personality is so warm and inviting and I just enjoy it all and cannot wait to do my front porch for Halloween I’m so into the hocus-pocus thing on Halloween so thank you again for always making me smile
I would have said you needed a bigger coffee table. That would solve the sidetable problem. The path from the door to the patio can still work when no one is seated and then when people are they can go around the sofa.
Yours turned out great, but Please tell me what to do if you have a walk through living room...small with no wall to put your furniture up against, and to make it harder....the fireplace is in the corner. Ugh. I know this is an older video, bit I watch abd re-watch your videos all the time. No one ever talks about walk through living rooms. I'm literally pulling my hair out. Imagining where your wall is in the basement is where you walk out onto the deck, so I don't want to put my main sofa there or do I ??? Gosh I need help. We're in the middle of ripping our carpet put and putting in wood floors. But then what??? I'm so stuck.
I love this video! I have a fluffier rug over a thick pet pad that is heavier than some furniture. I used to pull the sofas forward and lean them back so I could position the rug.. talk about a work out! But I gave up the ghost on that one. I finally did the unthinkable and pulled the rug out to just in front of the feet. May not seem like much, but that added a little more carpet to each side and my end tables fit perfectly along the edge of the carpet and my 3 granddaughters and 2 dogs all have room to play ❤️❤️ Plus room for little dog stairs to the small sofa❤️ Your sofas are beautiful and I appreciate someone who isn’t afraid to have a sofa with matching love seat! I love my set. I also love your tv cabinet. Again, great video! I am totally subscribing to your channel. 👍👍

But having family in Ireland, I always visit the cemeteries where my family members are buried when I go there and thats the only place I have seen the large rosaries and beads before. I have taken pictures of it because it was so intriguing to see. Guess I need to get out more to the craft shops here in America because it appears it might be a new trend. Might need to start incorporating large beads into my abode to make it more "charming!" :-)

I love yellow!!! Love navy and yellow. Yellow and brown and yellow with grey especially in a basement where natural light is limited
I think the entertainment center needs to go to the left so the speaker can go on the right. That way the sofa blocks its view and the entertainment center will look more centered because it will not look so close to the sofa.
I love your decorating style!!!! Thanks for another wonderful video!! ❤️🎃

I love blue and yellow together! Those armless chairs are adorable!
Awesome that you were comfortable showing us the ugly bits. Kept it real, thank you!

I love your shoes. I buy them because they are light weight, easy-on, and don't cost a fortune!😀
I love it. I just knew you were gonna put family beach pictures on the shutter covering the electric box. That would be so cool. Great job.
Wow, Two Hercules in da house!! Also, cute outfit. 😊
Thank you 💪🏻💕

I loved how everything turned out.
Enjoy your weekend.
Rest? What’s that? Lol 😂 thank you so much! Have a wonderful weekend 😁
I enjoyed watching you work through this space and all your helpful hints. And Jason’s contribution at the end 😅👍 y’all are so cute 🥰
Thanks for doing a small space. My home is small and I enjoyed watching this.

Thank you 😊 hey that’s awesome!!
Hi Leslie and Jason, love your basement, whew your house is roomy, love you guys! Kim❤️
Thank you! It’s a bunch of wasted space 😂 but not worth it to downsize! We’ve been here for almost 18 years and with the housing market the way it is, it’s just too crazy!
I actually love yellow! Your room is so bright and fresh looking!!!

It's amazing how much bigger your room looks with the rug and furniture placement.
Agreed!! Thanks for watching! 😊

Beautiful and cozy room 🤗
I love the shudder idea for the fuse box.
Shutter idea is genius!! Thanks for the good video again!!
Thank you for watching 🥰
I love that shutter idea to hide the warts!!!! Great video as always xoxoxo
Thanks so much!!

This basement decoration looks beautiful! Can’t wait to see what color you decide to do on your walls.
Thank you so much 😊

I would love for my drop ceiling to look like yours. Great video.❤️
Thank you! We added those panels about 10 years ago (back when we used that space a lot). It really enhanced the look!
How about a cute lamp, for a bit if light on sofa table, all looks good
This was very helpful!😊 Thanks
Thanks for sharing. Great advice. 👏
Of course love all that you do 💕 Our neurologist has confirmed Levy Body diagnosis for my hubby. I sent you an email but I know you probably get tons. Continuing to pray for y’all and your daughter. Hope she’s doing well ! Robin
I will go see if it went to my spam folder! Sending you hugs! ♥️♥️
🙏🙏🙏
I am so sorry. Sending you prayers.
@@ACharmingAbode you could name your baby and call it Jonathan if it is a boy or Genevieve if it is a girl if you have a baby
Have you thought of moving the wall unit to the other wall?where the love seat is. .? Looks good.❣️
The dang doors. Right ?
I like the idea of printing a photo of the room.
Keep these type of videos coming!! ❤
Will do!! Thank you 😊
Looks amazing and love your beautiful backyard 🤗💕
Thank you so much 😊
The room looked great. I would paint the yellow white maybe?
Your yellow/navy color scheme is so pretty!
This turned out cute. I can’t wait to see what color you paint it🙂 because I love your decorating ideas. Plus where can I get a popcorn machine like yours? That’s one of my favorite things in the room
Looks awesome! (as usual 😊)
Can't wait to see what paint colors you choose!❤😊
Thank you! I definitely need it to be light and bright down there that’s for sure! I’ll update on Instagram what I decide to do!
LOVE those armless chairs! Where did you get them? beautiful pattern!
Thank you! I found those at Target a few years ago!

How fun! This makes me want to get creative!!!😊
So glad it gets your mind thinking! 😁
just found you and i really like it
NICE JOB!!! 🙂
I love this video! I have a fluffier rug over a thick pet pad that is heavier than some furniture. So happy you found my channel! Thank you so much!
looks cozy and comfy! love the cameo J
Thanks so much!
Super helpful! Thanks!
I was going threw your videos to get caught up.I was wondering were did you get your white dough bowl from.Love it.Thank you.
So, I'm new to your channel and I am loving it! Fun fact that I noticed, you use a lot of large beads in your arrangements! Which I love, but have not seen before in American home decor! Are you Irish? If you have ever been to Ireland and have visited any of the Irish cemeteries, some of the Irish Traveler gravesites tend to be draped with VERY LARGE rosary beads on the headstones. If you happen to look this up on the internet, you'd be hard pressed to find images of this.
I just love your channel, you always make me smile…. Love to you and hubby…. X
Thank you Janet! We appreciate that! ♥️
Love the look!
Only comment is the table behind the sofa - you said for people sitting on that couch to put things on - there’s not much room for that with all the decor, so no real point for the table in that case
Great job 👍
The sofa and love seat could be switched, This would solve the problem of table for the longer sofa and the love seat in the new position would allow for side tables on either side.
You two made me smile at the fun you had standing on his back and pretending you are a super woman while he was doing his press ups ..and now Iike the sofa table and the lay out especially the sun shine shelf and the last one with the balls ..tfs 👍🏿
Thank you so much 😊
I love this one! You always give me ideas and make me smile. You continue to inspire me in so many ways. In my home and professional life (Administrator of a Long Term Care Community) Thanks you two!
Always love your videos..thank you.💗💜♥️
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Our basement is small with low ceilings too. Is that BM Hawthorn Yellow? Ours is, with bright white trim, too.
I would deffo paint that draw ser behind the sofa in dark grey and the draws a lighter grey in french chic paint x
I love this video ❤
I wish you could come and do a makeover in my home!!😃😃
Pull greenery on right forward so it can be seen. You could move your popcorn machine which would give you room for an end table.
Love this ! 💛💛
Great video as usual!
Thank you so much 😊
Looks great!!
I took the quiz. My style is Farmhouse Scandinavian and traditional...so true.
Enjoyed your video. Is your flooring tile that looks like wood? I just bought a house that has an unfinished basement and a month after moving in a heavy rain got in, so I was thinking either tile or water proof vinyl that looks like wood. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Yes, that’s tile that looks like wood! I highly recommend it!
Not sure what kind of space you have however I’m thinking that the couch could go where the chairs are then move chairs aligned with the door line
