Such an amazing song. These guys lived in a a house madew ith a brick garage where they practiced the vocal harmonies. The acoustics gave them the ability to create a truly underappreciated sound. They pulled elements of southern rock and metal into the alternative rock genre. The acoustical version really lends a different feel and emotion to the song. It also allows the audience to experience a more raw and uncut harmony that gives the lyrics more power to dominate the accompaniment without drowning out the skill and musicianship. Masterpiece.🔥
I used to listen to crossfade holy trinity back when i was 15-16 (no giving up, colors, cold) and sometimes went back to listening. The other day i was at the gym and Cold passed through the speakers, reigniting so many memories. And today i found this gem that i mever heard and I'm so sad it's not on Spotify to put it in repeat all day. Thanks for putting it here
This version is incredible. The harmony vocals and overall vocal inflections, coupled with the beautiful acoustic underlay, conveys feelings the original doesn't quite capture.
Much better than I anticipated, listened in 2018. I remember hearing the original on XM radio when it first came out, somewhere in 2005. The album was great. So much music got overlooked. The economy was in flux, music was rebounding from file sharing. So much great music slipped thru the cracks. Chances couldn't be taken. A lot of bands in this time frame could have flourished with a little extra support from their labels. But it just wasn't in the cards. Such a bummer.
its sad but I kind of like having my own little unknown band that no one else knows of. It's like it amplifies the feeling of seclusion when I listen to them
one of the greatest rock songs ever imo.. just such raw emotion and the chords and progression with the chorus really fell like hes speaking directly from the heart. you wont ever see music this good again sadly.
Brings back so many memories from 2005 - for me, a true Masterpiece, everything about it. It started my love for making indie rock music just turning 15 yo. ❤ Thanks for uploading couldn't find it on Spotify.
Oh wow, thank you so much!. The band had this version posted to their myspace ten years ago and Ive been trying to find it ever since. Again thank you.
I have a different acoustic version on an old mp3 player that still works. Can't find it anywhere else. Here's hoping this thing lasts forever! The vocals on it are pristine and absolutely gorgeous.
Looking back at me I see that I never really got it right I never stopped to think of you, I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win You are the antidote that gets me by, Something strong like a drug that gets me high What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so Cold to you, I'm sorry about all the lies, Maybe in a different light, You can see me stand on my own again Cause now I can see You are the antidote that got me by, Something strong like a drug that got me high What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold I never meant to be, so cold I never really wanted you to see The screwed-up side of me That I keep locked inside of me so deep, It always seems to get to me I never really wanted you to go So many things you should have known I guess for me there's just no hope; I never meant to be so cold What I really meant to say Is I'm sorry for the way I am (Is I'm sorry for the way) I never meant to be so cold Never meant to be so cold
I remembered i stumbled across this version on 93.3 back in the day and have always favored the acoustic version so much more hut a true gem regardless!
Ho. Lee.. SHIT!! I haven't heard this version since like 08... I just decided a few days ago to learn this song and thought... "Wait why not the acoustic version? It was lit..." Lo and behold it is MUCH better than I remember! Glad to see it's on here! Damn this took me way tf back!
I just said the same shit not 3 days ago! Flaws are sometimes what makes something "PERFECTION," unique,if you will. Right on brother!! If you're really into Breaking Benjamin, try to find acustical version of "So Cold" recorded in 94.9 Zeta's studio Ft. Lauderdale 13yrs or so ago ,It's so bad ass!!
This is my favorite version of it aside from the original when the time calls to rock out, but in a chill setting, this will always be my all time favorite acoustic rock song. Highkey would want this to be the last song I listen to/play at my funeral
i always thought this song was some relatable shit when i was 14 having never even been in a relationship, well now to say the least i now understand the lyrics to this song on a hard level
Come back crossfade! come back to us we need you! everything you guys do including Ed’s solo stuff is amazing! But we could really use some new fade these days!
Just listened to this again. Played it for my wife on guitar yesterday. Killer acoustic version that never gets old! 2024

I so appreciate this version
Its simpler yet so much more profound
Almost 2020 and this version of the song still gets me in the feels.
Early 2022 and still the same.
90s 0 9
Almost 2024 damn
@@ezcu1733 glad I saw the reply, I need some good music about now.
This version is incredible. The harmony vocals and overall vocal inflections, coupled with the beautiful acoustic underlay, conveys feelings the original doesn't quite capture.
loved this - it's such a haunting, memorable song & the acoustic spin just serves to highlight this ...truly excellent voice

omg THIS IS the best acustic version of this song that i have ever heard.
great song thanx 4 posting this great version
The backup singer has some damn good vocals too. Let's give credit there too!
Mitch and Tony were damn good (James never really sung, but still good on drums)
yes they sound amazing together
Tony Byroads is amazing. He made Crossfade for me. Still loved it but just didn't have the same charm without him.
i think hes fuckin terrible personally but go 'head
one of the greatest rock songs ever imo.. just such raw emotion and the chords and progression with the chorus really fell like hes speaking directly from the heart. you wont ever see music this good again sadly.
I love this version. It is better than the single. I never really wanted you to see the screwed up side of me that I keep locked so deep. So genius.

The lead singer of crossfade has one of the best voices in rock.
I agree 👏
Too bad their only good songs is cold and colors lol
He put out 3 singles just this year, Ed Sloane is a wonderful guy who loves his fans
Is he with another band or solo?
@@JJGhostHunters solo only got 3 songs out, alive without you, and surrender
March 2024! This acoustic version is perfection. 🤘
They should try and get this song on the radio again. People would love it. Well we love it at least ;)
Matt Washington I requested this song to a local radio station. I don't think they played it
HunterGatherer Radios today only play shitty meaningless songs.
98 rock charleston and 98 rock tampa plays this all the time
93x out of Minneapolis and the Crow 103.7 out of Sioux Falls plays this tune.
This song is so deep. To all the heartbroken ladies out there I feel for you
I have a different acoustic version on an old mp3 player that still works. Can't find it anywhere else. Here's hoping this thing lasts forever! The vocals on it are pristine and absolutely gorgeous.
Thats the one I have. Cant find my burnt disc. But God dang did he sing that shit out!!!
Please try to upload here and internet archive
You just made me fall in love with this song all over again.. what a bad ass version of this song.. you rock Cross Fade🎸🤟🎤
Looking back at me I see that
I never really got it right
I never stopped to think of you,
I'm always wrapped up in things I cannot win
You are the antidote that gets me by,
Something strong like a drug that gets me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so
Cold to you, I'm sorry about all the lies,
Maybe in a different light,
You can see me stand on my own again
Cause now I can see
You are the antidote that got me by,
Something strong like a drug that got me high
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am
I never meant to be so cold
Never meant to be so cold
I never meant to be, so cold
I never really wanted you to see
The screwed-up side of me
That I keep locked inside of me so deep,
It always seems to get to me
I never really wanted you to go
So many things you should have known
I guess for me there's just no hope;
I never meant to be so cold
What I really meant to say
Is I'm sorry for the way I am (Is I'm sorry for the way)
I never meant to be so cold

Toby Wilson great acoustic song!!
“I never really wanted you to see the screwed-up side of me that I keep locked inside of me so deep. It always seems to get to me”
This song is genius.
This is what I really needed right now
That and a hit on a bong
Right!?!!?!!!
imgoingtohell whoscoming lmao bong in hand as I read that.
I sing this song to myself when I’m alone extremely often. It’s like I’m addicted to it. Sadly my life echoes and mirrors these lyrics
Can’t believe I had to wait this long to discover the acoustic version.
One of my all time favorites! We are So Cold in every relationship...
I feel it's rare that an acoustic version is just as good......now let's see them do it live so I can truly judge them lol
Timothy Collins they have new music.
They dont disappoint during live performances. Saw em in Biloxi, Mississippi 6 or 7 years ago and it was awesome
Love the way they did this his voice is bad ass my fav by far
I've known about this version since I came home from prison in 2009 and hands down the greatest acoustic version of any song out there
This really is the best version. Acoustic and all. Thank you crossfade for beautifully constricting my official apology song
Love belting out this song when it comes on my playlist. Miss this kinda music !!
This was my friends funeral song when he took his own life in 2007. Takes me back everytime ❤
I'm not sure there's many songs at all that don't sound better acoustically in my opinion, this is amazing
Shinedown's 45 was pretty good in an acoustic version
Thats what he said. He says most of the acoustic versions sound better then their original. (2 x don't ^^)
There's no song by Jimmy's chicken shack that sound better in acoustic
Shinedown’s simple man is good acoustic
Probably my most favorite song ever. Like the one that takes you to a different place in time every time you hear it .
Ho. Lee.. SHIT!! I haven't heard this version since like 08... I just decided a few days ago to learn this song and thought... "Wait why not the acoustic version? It was lit..." Lo and behold it is MUCH better than I remember! Glad to see it's on here! Damn this took me way tf back!
Its almost Perfect, But Not, Cause being Perfect is a Flaw, And This is FLAWLESS!!
Guy Dales well put my man
I just said the same shit not 3 days ago! Flaws are sometimes what makes something "PERFECTION," unique,if you will.

I absolutely love this quote
This is my favorite version of it aside from the original when the time calls to rock out, but in a chill setting, this will always be my all time favorite acoustic rock song.
Highkey would want this to be the last song I listen to/play at my funeral
Just got goosebumps and still have the biggest smile on my face! Still brings the vibes! Love it
Still great unplugged!!!! Fantastic musicians.
Crossfade is underrated they deserve more recognition
a great bunch of guys, super cool to their fans !
Ending of 2017 and I still think this is the best acoustic version of this song I've heard so far.
What I really meant to say...is, this song is amazing!
If there is any misunderstanding between you and someone you love fix it before they die because once they go that chance is gone forever.
RIP 💧🥀 💔
Love this version the Best 2023
Truly a beautiful song
The vocals are amazing. Great voice and articulation.
BIG THANKS for this version.
Tony’s voice makes me crazy ❤️
raw emotion on vocals
