The Queen of Denmark being part of the production team of a Netflix period drama was not on my 2023 bingo card.
Fun fact, Queen Margrethe II is also illustrates her version of Lord of the Rings, even uses a pseudonym for that career of hers.
And is a well known for her love of costume design for danish plays.
She also loves archeology.

Anything Sidse Babett Knudsen is in, I have to watch. She was outstanding in the Borgen series. A fantastic actress.
Being an artist and a lover of period romances, I LOVED this movie! And an even better surprise was that it had two of my favorite classical music pieces in it, the Sarabande from Barry Lyndon and Beethoven's Symphony 7 opus 2... Two of the sexiest pieces of music on Earth! THEN, WHEN THE MOVIE WAS OVER, I discovered there was an after show and found that the scenes were created from the Queen's decoupage collection! MARVELOUS from beginning to end! WHAT A TREAT!

Just so its more clear for those who don't understand: Out of Africa was a book written by Isak Dinesen (her real name was Karen Blixen). It was about the time she lived in Africa and had a farm. The movie Out of Africa (which is a classic and won all kinds of Oscars, and other awards), stars Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, is based on Isak Dinesen's (i.e. Karen Blixen) book Out of Africa. Its one of my FAVORITE movies. :)

I hope it is dubbed in English. Find it too distracting when I have to read subtitles, especially when they talk fast and then you miss the action and it goes to another scene. This looks really good. I love period movies.

@@ilovepiper666 I don’t speak danish but I’m a native German speaker (swiss). Danish and German are in the same language family (Germanic languages, also including english for example), so they’re related. The writing looks a bit similar but the talking is really different.
I as a German speaker can understand some things when I read it but zero when they talk :) btw it’s really nice seeing people learn German!

Des ouvrages mondialement connus de Karen Blixen comme Ehrengard portés à l'écran et furent récompensés par de nombreux Oscars. La ferme africaine entre autre a été nominé pour 11 Oscars et en reçu 7. Pour son information Karen Blixen est née en 1885 au Danemark, et fut une femme de lettres, et aussi entrepreneuse au Kenya. Si il était moins inculte il sortirait moins souvent la carte woke. A bon entendeur salut !
