Yes but they are not open minded like telugu film industry. Like just yesterday I saw a Marathi song sung by Shreya Ghosal and there was a negative comment saying they should have taken a Marathi singer instead. In another case Amruta Khanvilkar was giving an interview...she was answering in English because the questions were in English. Some negative people were quick to comment - hyala Marathi bolayala laj vatte ka! If this remains the mindset then Marathi film industry will never grow from what it is. Every Shreya Ghosal song is heard my millions of people all over the world. It's not only Marathi people commenting on her songs. Getting her to sing a Marathi song means getting the whole world know about Marathi language. But some people are too narrow minded and can't think about anything above thier race! That's why Marathi people are not coming up. Marathi's need to show thier culture to the whole world. Just doing Me Marathi won't help!
@@rishabhs4956 it's not about that ..it's about economics...the examples you quoted are in every state...Telugu people will watch a Telugu film when given a choice between a non Telugu/south film and Telugu/south film...that is not the case with Marathi people....they will go and watch a Hindi film over a Marathi film ..so even though mee vasantrao is a classic, it's box office collection will be negligible when compared to a very ordinary Telugu...forget about Marathi movie competing with movie like Pushpa...it's all about economics.....that is what dominates...nothing else...and if you say Marathi people are not excelling, then you have a very narrow view, it ight be your ignorance rather than statements based on facts... maharashtrians/Marathi people have achieved many things, and everywhere on the globe ....don't base your views on box office performance of one industry......
