I bought a 09 HSE 3 years ago , I've have lost count of how many cars I've owned but my LR2 has to be one of id f not the best I've owned . It's been reliable with only one of the intercooler pipes splitting , 2 Mots with no advisories and has every conceivable extra you could wish for .
Love the, Freelander 2. I'm on my 2nd and just clocked up 100K and looking forward to next 100000 miles.
Good cars mate I'll no doubt get another in at some point
The FL2 is a sorted car. Comfortable, great driving position, practical, proper 4 wheel drive and my XS manual does 45 mpg. Regular oil change and the engine will run an easy 200k
Yeah very good cars, miles better than most of the crossovers too!

Thanks James. Me too never had newer cars myself! It's a great car, some people struggle to overlook the miles, I don't, had a few cars with over 200k now including a 520d which might feature on a later video

The 2.2 puma is a good engine the freelander 2 was a reliable car landrover should have offered the discovery and range rover sport in normal mode hand brake and coils
Agreed. I've had a few L322's myself and the main things that seem to go wrong on them, Don't on the Freelander 2 and much easier to work on!
@@FlippinMotorsUK even the series 1 freelander was a good car the m47r diesel was a very good engine to the fuel pump was a weak spot on them other than that the face lifted models were very good you should be able to get a standard landrover no air just coils and normal handbrake u would have good cars then
The high milage is not the issue. It is how those miles have been accumulated that matters.
I know LR's have a bit of a reputation, but providing they are regularly serviced they will outlast most cars on the road. (Look at the numbers still out there and their popularity).The problem is when one of the previous owners has decided to drive it "off road".
It is a car that is more than capable of handling adverse conditions when needed, not a bloody battle tank!
Freelander 2 was 1 of Land Rovers better cars and this one had great history! Still have a good following hence why resale Price is still good compared to X Trail, Vitara etc
@@FlippinMotorsUK From a diy mechanics perspective, I preferred the freelander 1, but bloody hell whoever designed the electrics needed therapy.
The jap c**p is just as prone to corrosion and unreliability as their british cousin, but they have a better pr machine.
But they are all miles better than a modern ev, hybrid, petrol etc that will be beyond economic repair after 8 or 10 years, even if we knew what we were doing.
looks lovely - would be great for you to let us now how much you spent on bringing it up to this standard and how much profit was in it if you sold it for your £1950 quick sale ?
I did knock a little bit off the price as it took about a week to sell (most of mine sell in days with lots of interest) I made about £450 off it in the end. Plenty more videos coming soon
Thanks for this video! I really want to upgrade my 2015 Toyota Aygo to a 2013 version of these. Do you think getting a GS trim and getting a screen with Apple car play is a good option?
Hi glad you enjoyed the video. Yes GS is a good mid range trim. I personally like the Toyota RAV4 too so would try and look at both. Lots more common issues on the Land Rover but find one as good as this and you'll be fine!
Could not tbe Evoque have been the Freelander mk 3 but jlr saw more money in the rr name?
Evoque is nowhere near as practical. I think more the Discovery Sport but they changed the name to try and command a premium
BCA say they don't allow private buyers, only registered trade dealers??
