    I don’t have a major business but the most profit I’ve made was 4K and it took a total of 6 days Mon-Saturday job was complete.
    Total job: $10,125
    Materials were $2,800
    Labor: 3,325
    Profit was $4,000

    The most money have made on job profit on a job was $2210 from a $3500 sod installation job. Spent $940 materials and $350 labor. It was done in a 1.5 days to complete. After the job was complete we had left over sod and did another section for the customer for $700. So total profit 2760 for 2 days work.

      You beat me lol had an exact same job same amount of materials but did it in 2. My mistake? I should have had my sod delivered for $100 instead of running around 3 times to pick up and wasting time and gas. My profit was $2100.

    Most I've profited was 18k in 30days. 2 months ago. Now I'm a week into breaking that record. I am a solo LLC stainless steel fabrication business. Just took a downpayment for a 29,730 job(highest sold job so far) approximately 17k in costs and 8 days of building/installation. Plus 2 smaller jobs that will bring about 8k more in profit this month. Motivated as f to gain more momentum

    The company I work for own their equipment, but each job still pays the company rent and maintenance on the equipment they use (based on expected hours). That way, if we need outside rental equipment - costs are already built into the initial estimate.

    After reducing all your direct costs from the project total, that would be considered your gross profit, not necessarily bottom-line profit. What about overhead costs?

    • @ThatCasualZach
      @ThatCasualZach 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Overhead costs are calculated and in the back of your mind. Your focus is on generating as much income as possible. You arent in profit until you cover your yearly overhead. So if your overhead is 15k a year you need to clear that first 15k as fast as possible. It takes 16k to make your first 1k. If you dont see your business covering that you need to make a pivot each quarter to adjust your strategy. Maybe you need to do 100 small jobs or maybe you need to focus on nailing 3 big jobs. Make well thought out pivots and you can sidestep alot of the pitfalls that people run into because they wait until the problems explode before thinking about how to pivot. Your overhead will be covered because you are thinking of thriving rather than surviving. The old saying "sales cures all" still holds some weight.

    You forgot to factor in how much it costs you a day just to start the trucks and get to the job. Your truck, trailer, and equipment payments as well as your liability, workers comp, and auto ins. All the equipment and trucks and what not you have it has to be somewhere around $200 to $400 a day I would imagine.

Costs: Machine rental $75 for the 2 hours (machine was used on another job later in the day) $50 in labor and $120 dump fee. Total profit $1055 (82% profit margin).

I've learned my speech is the most important thing, I know how to convince a customer. I'm in the same building maintenance field as you, I'm 26 years old, but before I'm 30, I want to be a millionaire. All the best bro.

    I own a turf install company. On small jobs I tend to make 1200-1500 profit a day. Bigger jobs like 2,000 sq ft and up. I noticed I was only making 800-1000$ a day. Working longer and stressful hrs. I would give clients a discount on those bigger jobs. Yes we would be on the jobs for 5-8 days. However I have to pay out more for rentals for the big jobs and more labor cost. Just didn’t make sense to me, making less per day on bigger jobs. So I don’t discount anymore for bigger sq ft jobs. Since I end up having to pay more per day for rentals, dump fees and overall cost. As well the little jobs are less headaches and less back n less planning

  • @RentCokerTN
    @RentCokerTN 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can’t add all of those charges to that one job though. The only charge applicable to that job is the rental used in that job. All the other costs are just the costs of doing business.

      Tigran Gertz yup. I do jobs where I sometimes have materials left over such as (drywall, mud, screws, tape, mesh tape, plastic etc). So I take it home and store in garage untill I will use for another job. This job I did not have to purchase all the materials as I had what I needed at home. I also run equipment like boxes and bazooka to help speed up the process and those has paid for it self

    Maybe my boss is a different breed in Jewishry and money hunger. Maybe he knows how to speak to the owners a bit more. Unsure. But he sends 3 guys out instead of 10 and pockets more for himself. Probably what it is. Had a 2 day job for 3 guys. Irrigation, grass, had to backfill with dirt since the persons yard was all types of messed up. We brought a big for mini so we finished it in 2-3 days. I picked up two envelopes and both were 15k in cash. Also he does a lot of shortcuts, uses cheap material instead of what is supposed to be used at times.

    You forgot to mention the call your gonna get in 5 yrs saying you owe the state a milli for that job.. those idiots are ruthless, they have no talent so they extract it from you like a disposable crop! There is sooooooo many better ways to make excellent money.

    The homeowner is a foul to pay that much money for the type of work. That’s a easy weekender with family and friends that’s is savy with concrete work and a little bit of labor.

    I suspect you must be figuring in a rather large labor rate for yourself or you cannot manage labor properly. Less humans and more machines buddy. As others have said own your equipment and rent to the job. As others have said your profit needs to be at 50% or you’ll die.
