    Phelan was and still is one of my first stops for Photoshop knowledge bombs- since the beginning of the month, I've been trying to drop some knowledge bombs myself, nowhere near Aaron Nace level yet! 💪🙏

    I like the concept. I think it would be even easier to apply in LR/ACR with a few radial filters.

    • @Secondcropcreative
      @Secondcropcreative 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nailed it on the head! Everything we do in Photoshop, ACR and LR are kind of conceptual- there are numerous methods/ways to achieve one end result.

    Aaron try blurring the mask in the properties menu. That way it’s none destructive and you can always change the blur level at any point in the retouch.

    Thank you so much for using my photo! I love the edit. I'm completely fan girling over here. If it wasn't for Phlearn I would still struggle in PS. I've spent so many hours watching your videos. Hours well spent! Thanks for all you do.

    One question though : what is the difference between feathering the mask and blurring the mask ?

      ^^^This - but I think the beauty in what Aaron shares with us all is that you can achieve the same result a million different ways. It's like a choose your own adventure and Aaron is just showcasing one avenue to the final destination.

    The legend has it that you can use 'Stamp Visible' (Alt+Ctrl+Shift+E) to get the same result as 'Apply Image'. Is that true or there are some minor differences?

    When I use Iris blur I don't get the inner dots, that you have, and I have the latest CC2019 installed. How come? Is there a setting I am missing? The inner dots make the blurring much more precise.

    Nice video and helpful techniques... thumbs up!
    But of course those edits still look like the picture was monkeyed with in Photoshop. No way around that when you add sharpness and brightness to just an area around the subject. I hope no one invests $$$ in a really nice lens and then comes back and does these smartphone filter type edits.

    Isnt this is easier done in LR ? It feels so complicated in PS when I can achieve pretty much very close results with a maybe 4 selective adjustments in LR mobile ~ I will try later

    Why don't you use smart objects or smart filters so the effects stay adjustable?
    That "apply image" part, creating a snapshot, is totally destructive, non editable.

    • @Secondcropcreative
      @Secondcropcreative 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One great thing with photoshop is there are a million ways to achieve the same end result. (I do agree with using smart filters) 🙏

    • @sunnaum
      @sunnaum 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cntrl+z is one click, convert for smart filters is two. hahah

    • @Mvinifeijo
      @Mvinifeijo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sunnaum i see you don't use photoshop a lot.
      The idea is to be able to adjust the filters values at any time you wish, without affecting other editions you made on the image.
      If you "ctrl+z", you will lost every other edition you made until you reach back the filter creation. That's a totally destructive way of using photoshop.

    How can you take an old picture from the 50s and make it look like it was made in 2019. I guess it's impossible but that could be the next challenge for Photoshop with AI technology

    • @Secondcropcreative
      @Secondcropcreative 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Isn't kind of funny that in 2019 we have Instagram and filters where we want to make our images look degraded and faded like they were from the 50s ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
