    I found this so helpful Lauren as I'm sure many others will too. I always wonder, "How many Tee or sweatershirt patterns does a woman need? " :) I love the Toaster and couldn't recommend it more highly - I have a Jalie pattern which is similar to the Linden and loved it so much I made up a few of them last winter and wore them a lot. I made them with a very stretchy rayon knit (Liberty) which is just the perfect weight - not too hot and drapey but you need just the right pattern for it or it will be a little too clingy. Next time I'm going to make up a knit sweater I'm returning to this video!

    Wow this was a great video, so good to see so many made up in different fabrics. I wouldn't normally look at Sewaholic patterns, not sure why but seeing this made up in two colours looks lovely and would be a good stash buster. Love the Toaster, I have lived in my version 2 and my daughter loves hers. Many thanks😂

    I love these videos! I find it so nice to see so many of the patterns made up and on the same consistent body to see all the contrasts of the varying patterns. I’ve never before even considered the sewaholic pattern, but after seeing your version made up, I quite like it. The fit is very nice and casual. Thanks again! Love your shop and channel!

    Hi Lauren, such a good vlog!! I find it really helps when vloggers say what size they've made, so it's refreshing that you say what your body measurements are and what size you chose to make. I'm still yet to make the Toaster but have been faffing about with what size to make. I'd like to make the Version 1 though so think the fit will be a bit closer. Could I ask how tall you are? I like the closer fitted look too on your Linden but I'd lengthen it for me as I am a pear shape, so like to cover my hips a bit! 😊. Really like the Stella hoodie, but I do like the raglan sleeve on the paper cut version. I've not bought Tilly's book yet but plan to get it soon xx

    Hi Lauren, I love your channel. Im new to sewing I love the lindon. Can it be made longer in the body. And what fabric was the oink

    • @LaurenGuthrieGhani
      @LaurenGuthrieGhani  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Pauline, yes it would be really simple to make it longer in the body as the front and back bodices are simple shapes. This video is quite old now so most of the fabric included aren't available anymore but we have lots of others available online now guthrie-ghani.co.uk/shop/fabrics?fabricType=Sweatshirting

    Hi Lauren, thanks for such a helpful video, it’s great to see how patterns look in real life.
    Can I ask you a question about your Stella hoodie? I love mine so much, and am just making a second one for my sister as a birthday present, but it looks like you haven’t got buttonholes for your cord to thread through. Did you make the holes a different way, and if you did, please could you tell me how? I have an eyelet punch from my scrapbook days but am terrified to use it on fabric in case the eyelets aren’t suitable for fabric! Thanks for your help x

    • @LaurenGuthrieGhani
      @LaurenGuthrieGhani  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Karen, yeh I did do the buttonholes on my machine. You could try and eyelet but I'm not sure how secure it would be over time and if they are scrapbook eyelets (rather than ones that are for clothes) could you be sure they wouldn't rust/mark the fabric - I'm not sure but maybe something to test if you fancied doing it? :)

    I never use to preshrink jerseys but now I'm prewashing everything cause I am finding some shrinkage in most every type of fabric.
    What a beautiful hoody fabric and I especially like the hood lining.
    I'm not seeing the link to megan's knit stretch chart. Where can I find it?
    LOL, the top with the fabric blocking looks like the Star Trek uniform tops. However, I do really like this look AND I'm a Treky.

    Nice video explaining the differences in patterns. I have the linden pattern and some french terry to go with it but I cannot seem to find ribbing to cuff , neckline and hem band finish. I noticed that you used the same material to do this which would save me from searching. Do you think this would work with french terry. There is the right amount of stretch for the pattern i think 10% or should i purchase other fabric to go with it? Thanks for your help.

    • @LaurenGuthrieGhani
      @LaurenGuthrieGhani  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cindy,
      I always just use the same fabric as it is really tricky to get matching ribbing, for me as a retailer too. I find that the cuffs and hem bands are usually fine, its just the neckline band that you may have to alter depending on the stretch of the fabric. I've made a tutorial how to do that too which is on my youtube channel so you can always check that out too. Hope that helps :)

      Thanks hun. I noticed I couldn't see anywhere in the book or on the pattern to say how much fabric one needs to make the hoody or the trousers. I would like to make both to lounge about in the house in... so I have ordered 4 metres of rose coloured sweatshirt fabric. It was seeing your version in blue that persuaded me to have a go. xxxx
