lucifer didn't lie to him. everyone's doors are unlocked. it is their own guilt that keeps them trapped there. if the doctor were to overcome it he could walk out of there. lucifer doesn't know how it can happen. noone has ever successfully done it. he did say perhaps. he did not lie
Great reaction as always ❤ I view Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship as ‘baby steps’. How could they be together when Lucifer hasn’t disclosed who he really is. Everything would be based on lies and we know Lucifer never lies. I love the little ‘reveals’ in this show: (1) Ella giving up info about her former life and family (2) Maze explaining her ‘soulless status’ (3) Linda hinting that she might just go to Hell because of something no one knows about her…believe me when I say…all the little details that come out about our beloved characters is very relevant. Thankfully you are very observant and will likely remember all those details.
12:40 when Trixie said “like the devil” she was referring to Lucifer having the same name as the devil and with Amenadiel she didn’t know he’s really an angel she was asking if he was being like a guardian angel to her mom until Lucifer arrives. 14:52 he didn’t lie he just didn’t tell him the whole truth. Lucifer tells a version of the truth. 15:29 this is Lucifer’s hell loop. 21:14 can’t make sense of how you react to situations in hell.
This episode was initially planned as the season two finale, but shortly after they finished filming this episode. They got approved to do more episodes for season two, so they decided to use this as the mid season finale.
The rescue scene here is maybe the most dramatic in the entire series. Beautiful! Later episodes will clarify several of your questions: how hell works, why Linda thinks she's going there, ... It's the little things that I savor watching this again: Lucifer looking in on Chloe & Trixie cuddling in her hospital bed; Trixie's "I think you're good" and hug of Amenadiel; Chloe hopeful smile at Lucifer as she asks "Maybe we can pick up where we left off?"; her dawning realization when she says "You haven't been picking up, so I'm coming over, so hide all the strippers. I just hope you're OK".
The idea of hell is amazing in this show. It matches towards the guilt or the belief that one does deserve to be punished. It is unique. You have to enjoy the team up of Dan and Lucifer. Dan isn't even going to ask what Lucifer is going to do.
It was a mid-season finale. Shows used to have long enough seasons that they took a little break somewhere in the middle and came back like a month or so later.
The next episode is one of my favorites of the entire series, and since you already have the episode on patreon, it won't be a spoiler saying the character they introduce there is one of my favorite side characters.

Lucifer didn't lie! He said "PERHAPS your guilt... ". And he had to learn the formula for he can't take the note back up to earth.
I came to the comments to say the same thing.
Well, it wasn't up to Lucifer at all, it has and always will be the decision of the dammed not the devil.
The "Unsteady" scene is one of my favorite in the entire series. Everything about it is perfect.
When Amenadiel went to see Linda, she knew. She just didn't say anything.

By far my favorite episode of the season. The song will never not give me chills and make me emotional…

The Devil kills himself to visit Hell, to save the woman He loves. A very rare thing indeed.
9:52 That image of Chloe and Trixie cuddled up together breaks my heart.
electricity - Maze's new passion! 😂
You know she's wanted to do that to the Goddess as soon as she walked in.
8:30 if Aman or Luci has their wings they could fly, but neither has them anymore

Mum cared about Lucifer getting stuck there! Not Chloe dying at all
Yeah, she called her insignificant
Yes? Family is more important than strangers
Chloe is family
@@NickolasSegars not to her.

Sofie, you're having way too much fun watching Lucifer!
Is that a bad thing?
@@divinelangene6813 It's a GREAT thing! Makes Sofie fun to watch . . .
This episode and song are just such a great combination. I’ve been waiting for you to reach this one for a while now.
This Episode is peak
Given how TH-cam chops off titles at a certain length, it would be really nice if what episode # is in front of "Reaction/Commentary".
Whoever edits your videos, chefs kiss❤, great reaction as usual
My favorite eps in this season, he literally went to hell for her
The place he hates more than heaven, now that is true love
Pivotal episode that changes everything! Great reaction!
I suppose initially this episode was planned as final for the season.
