  • Walking out on the road at night at Dumex Market in Phnom Penh city to explore the street food. The lady is serving her deep fry ducks, another lady is serving stir fried clam with tamarind. I just wanted to try all from each stalls. Next are street foods from other places around Phnom Penh city. We bought some foods to eat together and so on. We hope you will enjoy this street food video.

I know it can be much fun and enjoying to have street food at night. Just be careful. Don't be caught up eating contaminated food.

I fucking love Phnom Penh. I fucking love Cambodian street food. Dunno why, I feel Cambodia like a powerful source of South-Asian spirit and its culture and traditions reminds me Khmer Empire - which has influenced the entire area. Believe or not, I see it in faces of common ppl, average Cambodian is much more polite, friendly, generous and lenient than others in that part of Earth. And I feel it in Phnom Penh. Yes I've seen many sad things there, but there's the same shit in any other country including mine.

I was just in Phnom Penh and I do not remember this street for some reason. Is this area near the river or deeper in the city?

john brown. you are so right. you 've got the access to insight khmer culture. k h M E R means the personne who is the manager(for" mer" = chef or superior) in old language. So khmer was once powerful and rich country. That is why vietnamese and thailand want badly to appropriate cambodia.

Speaking as a 'Westerner' where we have all these stupid hygiene rules. It amuses me to see the stalls with fairly nice clean food displays, then when you order some, they immediately pick it up with bare hands, cook it in a pan that either hasn't had a good clean (and the oil changed) for what looks like weeks. Then, when it is cooked they put it in a brand new container, put that in a brand new bag, tie it up, and then put it again in another brand new 'carrier bag'. Nothing against the food I'm sure it is very nice, - certainly looks it. It's just the handling and cooking bit I don't get after all the trouble to make a clean display and certainly the bagging for the customers.
