It just erases fault codes like all the other scanners do, and it doesn't reset anything. To get a scanner/programmer that can reset/re-code the ecu it will cost you well over $1000 bucks and even those are limited in what they can do. Some will be able to re-code injectors, reset throttle body and a few other things but you won't find many that will allow you to do Timing and fuel mapping. Like for example; if it was a Mitsubishi vehicle you would need a MUT2 or MUT3 to do any of that stuff or to do a full ecu reset.

You only clearing fault codes if problem not fixed they will return, not resetting modules. And at the end you have B1001 code still and you say no worrys about it. You will when in accident, you have no airbags

You are only erasing the fault codes you are not resetting all the modules to factory conditions

I have 5 transmission codes on a 04 Volvo XC90 and drain on the battery overnight. I never have reset TCM before.I don't know if it would help buying the devise mentioned. What do you think? Thanks

Can this tool reset or reprogram the transmission control module? I replace the input and output sensors on my 2009 Honda CR- V and would think I have to get it reprogrammed or reset but not sure what scanner I would need for transmission work. Thanks in advance!
