DXN@WorkVLog: Using Studio cams with TV box zoom lens

Sometimes we get to use Studio cameras for work, and sometimes using ENG Camcorders or Cine rigged cameras. Different tools for different job scopes. Clients without experience always like to specify the cameras for us. Maybe just because they've heard it on the youtube review channels or that the camera is well-hyped or raved on the social media. But that doesn't mean that every camera can fit any purpose. Using the right tool for the right job is important in our line of work too.
Leave it to the DoP or CamOp to determine what kind of configuration will fit the job requirement. Spec in a cine rig like RED with primes for a news gathering work and you be missing a lot of important coverage. Spec in a large sensor camera with photography zoom lens and you won't be able to have decent telephoto and wide coverage with servo zoom functions like a TV lens for a live feed event. Likewise, using a smaller sensor camcorder with great 17x zoom reach, but don't expect your footage to turn out with amazing cinematic-looking shallow depth of field shots.
