    It looked like the container was placed over a small gully. I would have liked to have seen a shot of the insulation on the underside after dragging it over a thousand feet. Hard to believe only a couple of pieces fell off? Also, like many other viewers, I am mesmerized by Andrew's skill and imagination! And if all else fails, he can always have a career as a videographer! Really impressive camera work and editing! lol

      I figured they had a sled of some kind to help it skid or maybe wheel along behind the dozer. I guess not. But if there's a company that does this, these container homes, they should consider fab'ing a couple of pieces that the "front" and "back" could sort of ride on, if for nothing more than to ease or reduce dragging friction, and help protect the underside against damage.

    • @horstszibulski19
      @horstszibulski19 5 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      Wasn´t there a pair of half-trailers, that should go under the container for moving?
      Rubbed off insulation came instantly to my mind,too...
      And I expected some locally poured foundations, they made some lifts out of collected stones, from what you can see in the end...
      But it held up a whole year by now, then it will work!
      :-D

    When I moved my container I chained the blade to the container and lifted it up a foot then pulled it into position. The container just slid nicely over the ground.

    • @EdwardTilley
      @EdwardTilley 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was the ground as uneven as this wooded setting? It seems the blade would be impossible to rely on as it rollercoasters its way across the forest. Sounds like a better approach though I get the impression that Andrew has done a bunch of these and realizes this works fine - all things considered.

    If you had to move those things often, I would imagine rigging up some kind of wheels to go on each end might prove fairly useful. When I installed sheds built offsite, we rolled everything around on pipes and with digging bars; it worked fairly well, but I took the end of my ring finger off when I was pulling a pipe out from under a set building and jammed it between the pipe and the tree right behind me I didn't think about.

It would save you time dragging around trees and it would be able to be used over and over on different containers. I bet you could weld or bolt one together in an afternoon.

    That D4 is pretty awesome. In 1967 I remember working the summer for a lumber company that used a D9 with a pie shaped saw blade on the front of it cutting in roads for the logging crews. The blade was an inch thick solid steel with huge saw teeth from the point at the front all the way back on both sides. That D9 never slowed down. The operator would drop that blade and it cut through tree trunks like butter. Instant road behind it.

      You sir, in your quest to bestow accolades towards/upon Andrew, used ghetto vernacular within your posted comment, which only served to negate everything you intended your comment to be. Please note that not a single other posted comment has used such language and in the future please write your comment accordingly. No, I am not the social media police, but I do have grandchildren who also read the posted comments left for Andrew and I do not feel that the use of such gutter type words are necessary to express yourself nor appropriate for others to endure.

      @@theshadow1559 I'm sure Andrew appreciated my comment and that's what matters. I honestly couldn't give a rat's ass if you get offended in any way and I'm sure your grandchildren are fine. I get the idea when something needs to be done in that area and NOONE wants to tackle it or can figure out how to do it. Who do they call, Senor Camarata. That tipping the container onto the tires went way more smoothly than I would have guessed, I figured bending the container because that guy has it so chopped up with all those cutouts. Another great job.

    I'm going to probably be the only one with negative comments and NOTHING Andrew did was wrong ... as usual he did amazing work ... What i question is pending that kind of money on on a tiny shipping container building? :( ... for I'd estimate another 30% they could have had a proper framed building twice the size ... or even a real log cabin.

      There is a company in upstate NY, that builds all types of structures from shipping containers. He states that the costs are 1/3 that of regular construction.
